It's so funny, just ordered my first Sennelier oil pastels, and I had the Landscape set in my basket, but then switched to these two sets instead! Plus some additional ones. They haven't arrived yet, but seeing your video makes me super excited!

I love them so much it is just simply the texture of putting them on the paper and smudging with fingers so creamy and soft. I have to admit I ordered the few from the landscape set that I didn’t have 8 in total plus some oil sticks just see what the difference is and if I like them. Hope you enjoy them!

@@studio.spirit Thanks! Yes, I ordered lots of the greens singly, as I do want to do landscapes too.

OK. So try the Mungyo OIl Pastels! The Artist's line, not the regular ones. They are so creamy and buttery and pigmented. They are an inexpensive dupe for Sennelier. Don't get me wrong, Sennelier cannot be compared to, especially for commissions that you need to be lightfast. But for studies, work that you plan to turn into purely digital or make prints of......Mungyo are amazing! And let us know how the Arches Oil paper goes! Every time I step into my Blick I grab it and end up putting it back because I have a giant roll of primes canvas so I just can't justify buying it. Right now. But when Im done with that giant roll..........

Thanks for the advise, much appreciated. Will be using Arches for my Illustration, so ill give you my thoughts of the paper then. Thank you for watching.

I really dislike the arches oil paper. I am still trying to figure out what medium to use it for, but for oils or even acrylics it's a no for me. It absorbs SO MUCH that it makes you use twice the amount of paint to be able to blend anything. I tried oiling out an A5 piece of arches paper and the amount of linseed I had to use was ridiculous

Thanks for sharing! I assume you mean oil paint? 🎨 so far with the oil pastels it’s been lovely butttttt I prefer the sennelier paper.

It really seems to be the time of oil pastels atm… everyone is buying and reviewing them… Move over gouache, it’s oil pastel’s turn to shine!

Yeah I noticed the same but wasn’t sure if it was the algorithms pushing videos on me because I have been searching for them lol. Still love gouache though need to get back on top of my practicing. Thanks for watching.
