  • In today's video I go to Jinan. Jinan is the capitol city of Shandong Province here in China and its known as the Spring Water city with 72 natural water springs. I stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel in Jinan City Center which was centrally located in downtown Jinan close to all the action. Highly recommend if you are making a visit to Jinan.

I love Jinan! Haven't been there in years, but the last I was there, I stayed in an area adjacent to all of the nice little alleyways with hot springs dotted through them. It was the middle of winter, but I saw some of the locals going swimming! It was really cool, and I'd love to go back there again

Wow! So glad you have been there before. The little alleyways were my favorite. I could spend hours there (when not raining). 😆.

@@leekimwah Spring water in Jinan is not like those in Japan, which is hot all year long due to volcanic activities. Water in Jinan actually comes from southern area, where there's a lot of mountains. In summer, water is very cold and in winter, water is kind of warm, that's why local people can swim in the river.

Excellent quality video, pity about the rain. My wife comes from Jinan and we've been going there from UK, every year since 2002-2019, only the virus keeping us away. We like to walk most evenings, to Hero Mountain Park, to the South of the city, to join in the dancing. There's a good restaurant in Daming Lake, where I can get my favourite, Kung Po chicken.

I love Jinan too. I was posted there from Qingdao. It is known as the city with the most hot springs in China. A city of 7 million, it also offers more Shandong cuisine than Qingdao. Taishan, one of China's most sacred mountains is also located in the same province. So is Confucious's hometown, Qufu. Jinan is one of the hottest cities in China during summer.

There're hundreds of spring water spots in Jinan, the 72 is the most famous one and each has it's own name. Due to the heavy rain this year, most Jinan spring water reached a 55 year record level, it's the best time to visit Jinan. The best memory about Jinan spring water is Water pushed out from stone covered road and runs on the local street, you can still experience those in Five dragon's pond Park, sweet memory of my hometown. You can also visit Foliage Valley south of Jinan in Nov, with red color covering the whole mountain, it's breathtaking.

There are literally SO MANY Chinese cities with a history of 2000 to even 3000 years of constant urban settlement that non-Chinese have ever even HEARD OF (but of course most Chinese will know as the most basic Chinese history will have covered the historically cultural importance of these cities). Of course some have dwindled down to dilapidated conditions, but some have grown into modern metropolises like Jinan, Hangzhou, Yangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Qingdao, Dalian, Chengdu, Chongqing, & of course, the famous ones even wypipo know of like Beijing, Shanghai & Canton (they might not know it's called Guangzhou nowadays). @gyxtc ปีที่แล้ว

@@Jumpoable I think the city can be better planned and constructed, for one. The new area in the east seems to be well planned out, but the old districts like Shizhong or Tianqiao districts really needs better infrastructures overall. Also from a cultural perspective I don't think the city if taking full advantage of its history and heritage. Jinan is an ancient city with a number of very significant historical figures, but people don't typically think of these when they heard the name Jinan, not even Chinese people.
