I went to the TT in 1991 or 1992 on an RD350LC. The circuit was beautiful. I went for a ride in between races when the circuit was open for all and sundry. I was making good progress and passing a few bikes, not because I was talented but because I had the 'whatever factor' of youth and I was on a well fettled 350LC. Getting into the mountains I had nothing around me, my favourite part of the whole circuit and I was flying - or so I thought. In the background through my crash helmet I could hear this gentle roar. It got louder and closer like thunder. I was enjoying myself but the distinctive roar suddenly came up behind me and for a few seconds we were in the same space then it was past me in a blur of red and black bellowing pipes. I followed briefly before backing off. Enjoying the adrenalin. Shortly after I got back to the campsite and pulled up next to my tent. The lads in the tent next door that I'd spent the night before in the pub with were really excited. The TT radio was broadcasting and they said "you know Agostini has just been out and done a lap of the circuit on his MV!". I realised it was Agostini that had blown me into the weeds. Then it didn't feel so bad. In fact it felt amazing.
Agostini and Hailwood (and Surtees to a slightly lesser degree as he turned to auto racing at 26)...absolute giants of the sport. The three dominated the sport like no one else. Look up their records if you don't believe me. The old Spa, Nurburgring, Monza, Isle of Man...uber lethal circuits, uber. These guys had balls like bowling balls.
In former times, I remember well, there were only two names and some pics about: Agostini and MV. And only one and lonely champ. Ago stood for motoracing like Ali for boxing or Eddy Merx for biking. So it was. Legends!
Kel Carruthers has said when Yamaha had their first TZ-750 (700 initially) produced they shipped several to America for testing by their contract riders...there were four who tested the TZ in Cali and Kel said two of the riders (can't remember their names but they were big name riders) basically could not even ride it at speed but Ago could and then Kenny rode it and put up much faster times then even Ago.
I stood right next to Ago's 500 MV3 before the 1972 Senior TT.Absolutely beautiful machine. That was Ago's last TT.Even today the sound of that bike brings tears to my eyes!Back in the late 1960's the "Motor Cycling" weekly paper had a speed trap at the Highlander.I recall Agostini clocking 158.8 MPH.Over the TT week the second fastest bike was the Yamaha 250 of Phil Read at 155MPH if my memory is correct.A good 500 "Manx" Norton would do about 135.I also have a vague memory of spectating at the bottom of Bray Hill when the 125 TT was on the Friday before the Senior.A lad joined us and said there was a speed trap half way down the hill and the operator told him that Bill Ivy and Phil Read both clocked 135 on their Yamahas, and Ago hit 155 in the Senior.
I was in the Island in the mid 60s and spoke to a guy who was riding a G50 who told me that he was practicing and nearing the end of the session coming down from Kate’s Cottage flat out he was passed by a 5 cylinder Honda 125. Probably Luigi Taveri
he did, but check out that massive bracket that goes all the way up to the tail section. he lifted it right under that! i'm sure he knows what he is doing ;)

Love the red colour and matching leathers.
The best partnership ever. Absolute legend
Even sounds great bellowing through the exhausts as the engine turns over before firing up👌
Stupenda MV Agusta 500 cc 3 Cilindri.

Johnny Ceccoto, Bill Ivy, Jarno Saarinen too.
1:42 of pure Legendness, the Man, The Bike, the Ago/MV legacy. There’s more glory here in these 102 seconds than in 90% of TH-cam’s videos.
Il più grande di sempre e le moto che ho sempre amato più di tutte ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Don't agree. The greatest is Mike Hailwood and the sixes. R.I.P. MIKE
Sospensioni a molla, gomme da bici da corsa, freni a tamburo…..
Le ginocchia non conoscevano le curve.
Oggi è letteralmente l’opposto.
Just the best sound ever
how can such a hell-sound be so heavenly?
pussy
I've been lucky enough to meet Agostini and get his autograph.
me too on the ferry coming back from the isle of man 1972
I met him about ten years ago at Goodwood, either the Revival or Festival of Speed. One of the greatest of all time.
I shook his hand and had a nice chat with him, that's good enough for me!
pure music
Grande pilota e gran signore ,dice quello che pensa, bravo Giacomo. ( HR)

AGO in Scarborough.....brilliant....that machine sounds so aggressive....like it is looking for a fight !
i'd love to have a peek into Ago's garage!!!
i once see his willy,
@@daveberry9922 Willy wonka. ??
I had a little MV Agusta 125cc that only had 14 miles on it.
Lovely sound, but the one I REALLY want to hear is the F750 MV Ago rode at Monza...
so does that guy follow him to the shops

This was the best sounding bikes ever I still love to hear them come alive
Ago and Hailwood got round in 20 mins lap after lap in the senior race I sat at the goosneck and seen it what memories

Pick it up off the stand by the mufflers, priceless, yeah, I know they won’t be hot, but hey.
I know right!
Greg C beautiful bike and sound.
At 1:28 did the starting assistant lift the motorcycle off the stand by the silencers ?
he did, but check out that massive bracket that goes all the way up to the tail section. he lifted it right under that! i'm sure he knows what he is doing ;)
Ach wie schööön !!!!
Mv n1
Olivers Mount is back on.
Cassius Clay=boxe ,Maradona=calcio , Agostini=motociclismo
Does "calcio" mean "cheating"?
It is an insult to compare AGO and motorcycle with Maradona and football
did he just pick up the motorcycle by the exhaust?.
yeah, I noticed that too....
They are obviously braced to the rear subframe...
@@jerrywellborn ...that man is the crew chief.....he Knows .
Giacomo Agostini..
nice classic moto
El mejor piloto de la historia

MV, juste bon à vomir 😣🙌🙆🤑🤑🤑🤑🤬
Müller Max mi sembri nervosetto .
Questi motori sn delle belve ruggenti....e una volta im pista graffiano l asfalto
sounds like the toilet after my vindaloos
Good God, picking up a running motorcycle by its exhausts.
Stupidest thing I've seen in a while.
Those FNGs really need to be told how to do their jobs, and I'm thinking at fourteen years old, you're just the guy to do it. Go for it!
Vai alla Yamaha.
What is this farting ?? Have you ever heard 1,500+ HP Supercharged 4 cyl Top Fuel Bike start up ?????
