Hyundai Santa Fe 2021 Hybrid FWD - Better Looking Pallisade (ENG) - Test Drive and Review

  • Hyundai introduced the fourth generation of the Santa Fe SUV in 2018, and by mid 2020 it already announced a facelift. From the front you can tell something’s different. The grille is more prominent, and clearly separated from the rest of the fascia. The headlamps are even sharper. At first glance you’d be excused for thinking this is a new generation, especially when you look inside.
    Hyundai claims the refreshed Santa Fe is on a new platform, which improves performance, handling, efficiency, as well as safety. There are also new hybrid powertrains, including a plug-in hybrid. In simple terms: we now get the same 2.2 liter diesel, and 1.6 petrol hybrids, like in the new KIA Sorento. You can have your Santa Fe FWD or AWD.
    ↔ 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe dimensions:
    ✔ length: 4785 mm
    ✔ width: 1900 mm
    ✔ height: 1680 mm
    ✔ wheelbase: 2765 mm
    ✔ boot/trunk: 831 L
    💲 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe starting price: 41 800 euro
    💲 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe price as tested: 56 381 euro

    I've always liked the Santa Fe, ever since it was first introduced. A good solid car that has been overlooked in its segment by buyers. Yes, too many buttons on centre console. Always want a car that looks like a 4wd to actually have 4wd, otherwise it seems pointless. Cheers Marek, good as ever.

    The new Santa Fe is epic, I think it's great value for money. It looks more interesting, and certainly more reliable than the DS 7 crossback, PSA or VW group SUVs. The Toyota Rav4 is also not bad, but it comes with a 2.5l hybrid petrol... it makes more sense if it were a 1.6 hybrid, 2.5 is too big.
    Have an issue with the Santa Fe? The Hyundai warranty will cover you!

    Its an intelligent car but I hope the 6k for the 3rd row of seats it's tax deductible:) don't stand why other makers still did not copy the dead angle camera in the instrument cluster : it's easy to implement and pretty smart. Hope you'll have a look at the diesel AWD version soon. Still a bit pricey but true is these cars are hassle free for long ownership at reasonable maintenance and running costs, if not warming emotions. Suggestions: the 80 to 120 would be interesting from steady cruising at 80s. Full tank range is also an appreciated figure I believe. Thanks Marek, v balanced and well informative review.

      @MarekDrives 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've spoken to the press fleet manager, and he said they're not planning to get a diesel for the press fleet. Too expensive. My guess is HQ told them to push as many hybrids as possible to curb the emission.

    Nice video. And nice car - but with all the bells and whistles too expensive. Marek, you won't like to hear it, but I'd reccomend the Skoda Kodiaq instead. The "L&K" top-trim is similarly or even better equipped, drives better and costs a few thousand bucks less.

    I've never looked at the Hyundai web site ever. I guess that says something about their vehicles. Booooorrriiing. Having said that, the new Genesis G70 and GV70 look really interesting. And the Ioniq 5 full EV is looking like a really sharp car. I think it's looking like the most exciting EV coming in 2021. In fact, I've already short listed the Ioniq 5 AWD and the VW ID4 AWD for our new car.
    As for the Santa Fe. The front of that design is a mess. Don't like the weird separation of the running lights and the head lights at all. But thanks for the review!

    Ground clearance is disappointing. It is SUV, which should have a little bit more clearance for those country roads. From the back for me it reminds older BWM X5. €6k for a third row of seats is too much. In Lithuania on website there is no prices for facelifted version. Only facelifted Tucson is advertised. Pre-facelifted Santa Fe prices (looks like it is on sale):
    2.4 petrol 4WD 5-seats 6AT, Premium Edition trim level - €39990;
    2.4 petrol 4WD 7-seats 6AT, Premium Edition trim level - €40990;
    2.0 diesel 4WD 5-seats 8AT, Comfort Edition trim level - €39990.
