Congratulations Jason, this has got to be your best interview yet. As a retired physician myself, this information is so badly needed in our community. As Dr. Carlton pointed out, we live in amazing times compared to forty years ago, when very little was known about STDs and were even less talked about. Knowledge is power and key to one staying healthy. The more the members of our community know about their personal health and what's available to them the better off we all will be. KUDOS to you and Dr. Carlton for this frank and informative discussion. I look forward to more like it. Thank you!
Jason, this is an incredible episode. Dr. Carson has been such an incredible advocate for the gay community health. It was great to see the two of you converse with one another thank you for doing this is work is so important for the gay community and for health.
The sad part is that many people take prep and think that they are immune to all other STI's, whenever someone tells me "don't worry I am on prep", I start to worry LOL 🤣
Gay or Straight this has been an awesome episode. Jason thank you so much for having Dr Carlton on. I thought of myself as a smart person around sex, I wish i had heard of Doxy Pep, and i've asked about PrEP back when it 1st came out and I was told "you're not a gay man or trans so it's not for you". Also i never knew about the gonorrhea and i think he said chlamydia stays where you get it throat, ass, pee, vagina. They really need to redo sex-ed in school. Or a refresher course for people with no shame... like me i woukd actually sit in a physical class to hear him speak on this and vision aides would help. I'm a cis Bi female and HIV Negative ( Hallelujah) but unfortunately i battled HPV for a long time and got cervical TWICE. The treatment wasn't fun. I don't have a high bodycount, 11 men, SA'd 1, SA'd by a family member and SA'd by the only female i ever had relations with because we were in a poly relationship with this psycho guy and we were scared what he'd do if we didn't do what he said. I can tell you by name of those i've had but because of the HPV and mental abuse of my last relationship i've been celibate since 2018. When the HPV vaccine 1st came out they only gave it to people up to 27 and i was just aged out (this was about 2007) and none of the other providers wanted me tovhave it but my GP finally said "there's so many strains get the vaccine to at least get protected against those you're not infected with" i was so thankful because i just had my annual Pap smear and i think that vaccine + immune system i think i'm HPV free. Dr office hasn't called back and it's been 2 months. 😊 i want to get back into having sex life again. I live in Central Florida closer to Orlando but not too far from Tampa/Ybor Cijty where i know many places down here are sex positive and most people are more DownToFuck instead of looking for a relationship and I'm scared to tell someone condoms only if they didn't pull one out to begin with. I'm scared of getting HPV again or ANYTHING else. I'm into BDSM and looking to try some things out and i know there's a dungeon in Orlando. I've never dealt with social anxiety before but just thinking about walking into either a club or that dungeon makes me wanna cry. I want to have more friends down here, a love like/ sex life down here Sorry for the long comment and the personal stuff. Jason you just remind me of a brother i never had but always wanted and just feel like your channel is a safe space.
Thank you so much!! You can find me on IG, Threads and TT at @doctorcarlton and X @doctor_carlton and check out my new podcast BUTT HONESTLY wherever you listen to pods!
Well, you did a great gay public service with this interview: you probably saved many lives. I felt so much better informed about gay health. Thank you!
This us excellent advice...it's ashamed that topics like this isn't spoken loudly amongst other SGL men in person...I haven't had anal sex over 1.5 years due to past history of being burned so I mainly do SIDE activities in local steam sauna rooms to get off or just jo solo...
Another great interview. Your platform reaches widely in the gay community. S*xual health now is less scary than before STD preventatives and being undetectable. You've brought more momentum to important topics. Thank you both.
I'm not gay so the following wouldn't affect me,but it was scary to hear about gonorrhea and chlamydia being in someone's throat/mouth.Thats even scarier than having either in your nether region.
Thanks This was one of your best interviews!! Thank you for asking the questions that many do not ask at all. There were several things that I have learned myself from this interview that I will share with my physician. I have lucked out and have one that is willing to listen, to speak honestly and openly about gay health. Once again Thanks!!! Jason B
Do yourself a favor and bottom. I'm 75, and I have bottomed a lot over the years. I like it so much that I easily relax prior to being penetrated. Just take your time and relax, and use a lot of lube. Until your comfortable, just straddle your partner and lower yourself on slowly. Before you know it you will be bouncing on him wanting it to last a long time.
So very glad to be in a monogamous 20+ year relationship so we can both enjoy uninhibited sex knowing we are both negative. The shit that's out there in the way of diseases and the cavalier attitudes still among too many men in the gay community is mindblowing.
Superb episode! So many questions asked were always on my mind and were answered. Been on PreP for 7 years now and its been an excellent tool in my arsenal to protect my sexual health and I started Doxy PEP last year. Dr. Carlton's description of going to the bath house on Saturday night and taking it Sunday morning was spot on! That was exactly my routine this morning. Once, I took it an hour after leaving the bathhouse and suffered abdominal cramps, nausea and night sweats. So, its best to take it in the morning after having breakfast. A question though, suppose you took Doxy PEP that same morning, then hooked up with someone after? Do you wait 24 hrs to take Doxy again? Also great points about tight bottoms, I have discovered its not my thing and my frenulum has been ripped in the past from a bad sexual experience. Lets say there was blood everywhere and I fainted in the bathroom. I nice hole thats well lubricated with a little friction is amazing!
Jason, you outdid yourself with this one. Dr. Carlton speaks with a level of knowledge and frankness that you rarely hear, but we need to hear more of. For me, I'm 63, and my Husband is 70, we are a monogamous couple of 24 years, and listening to this list of STD's (I have never had one), makes me grateful that I have not been on the market for a long time.
Thank you Jason for making the incredibly necessary, informative, and relevant topic with Dr Carlton happen. He seems like a down to earth and relatable doctor. How many of us can say our doctors talk like this and we feel comfortable talking about sensitive topics with?
Thank you so much!! You can find me on IG, Threads and TT at @doctorcarlton and X @doctor_carlton and check out my new podcast BUTT HONESTLY wherever you listen to pods!
Great informational video, thank you both. Sex seems scary and risky, but with all these measures and weapons the negative impact is much mitigated. Medical tests are very expensive in most countries, and all those medications and vaccines are totally unavailable making sex still a high risk activity. It would be great if clear information as this would be available to everyone, young and older, tests available at no cost, and medications and vaccines also available. The medical community often is ignoring all these things and sometimes leave patients to a sad fate. Keep doing this wonderful work so at least people in the USA are informed and benefiting from these programs and meds.
This is great! Dr. Carlton is one of the best ones out there with education on sexual health. Great conversation & very informative. Thank you Jason for having him on your channel.✌🏼
Thank you Jason & Dr. Carlton for this highly informative and necessary health education episode! You're both amazing advocates for sharing this knowledge!
Great important show. Great guest. You are keeping the LGBTQ community informed and up to date. Thank you! You are one of the best gay men to listen to out there on you tube.
This is all great information and I had to do tons of research because it wasn't well known years ago. My bf had to deal with an addict who was HIV+ at work and got pricked by his needle while they were restraining him. Unfortunately the exposure treatment didn't work but he is now undetectable.
Thank you Jason, for this incredibly informative episode! You have done a great service to the community bringing the great Dr. Carlton. I've seen him on other interviews, and I never get tired of seeing that handsome doctor ❤❤
Finally!!! Information is key. Also there's this attitude out there that prep it's a get out of jail free card. Proper STI checks is CRUCIAL.... Gono gono gono.... Best episode to date!!!❤❤❤
As a out, proud, activist, gay man for over 50 years and still very active I congratulate Jason and all those associated with this video. The openness, clarity and excellent production values makes this presentation informative, easy to watch and understand as well as entertaining and enjoyable. Thanks. Our many and diverse LGBTQI+ communities, and fellow-travellers outside the westrocentric sphere, make our world a wonder, to wander in, explore and embrace.
I was going to skip this interview....I'm really only interested in the pornstar confessions.....SO GLAD I didn't pass it up. Dr. Carlton is amazing. So knowledgeable.
Loved the interview! I'm going to need Jason to try out the 🍑 clock so he doesn't complain about tightness anymore. I always said with a little foreplay you can get ship through the eye of a needle, lol!
Gay/Bisexual Men who have sex occasionally should check their health at least once at month. I do not have sex, but I enjoy mystical naturism, autosexuality, and I have used to have romantic love with sweet mature gay men without affecting them or affecting me. We still love each other.
I kinda disagree with you on being on prep and doing it without a condom, that is a bad ideal since prep is not 100 percent guaranteed you are not going to contract anything
When I was in college people barely knew what ACT and TC3 are? I’m sorry you all have no idea how complicated things use to be. Huge culture shift? Not sure about that…….. especially when Hep C and syphilis are running rampant in the gay “pop” community and guys already positive have a much harder time having their drug regiment work properly when using drugs and assuming men are using Prep. Prep is a double edged sword.
Try not screwing around until you find someone who really loves you. The overt sex focus in the gay culture is why I gave up on looking for anyone. There is nobody like me in that world.
Yes, there are a lot of users out there. They will use you and forget you, but there are a lot of people like you and me. I just want a person who cares and is romantic. Sometimes just spooning in bed is great. I have had great sex with strangers, but afterwards, they pretty much ask you to leave. That's sad, but is often the case, especially when hooking up with people at a bar, or online. I hope you meet someone who IS like you.
This is by far the best enema for cleaning out: amzn.to/4g6uzzi

Best way is abstinence, you can't go wrong with that

I am so happy to be celibate. This stuff is way too much to deal with.
Amen!
Dr. Carlton is a wealth of information and he is more-than-willing to share what he knows. Thanks.
The sad part is that many people take prep and think that they are immune to all other STI's, whenever someone tells me "don't worry I am on prep", I start to worry LOL 🤣
Scary being gay.
Yeah red flags

I learned more about STDs on this video than EVERY health class I took in school. Great video!
Ain't that the truth,same here.
Because parents don't want schools to teach about it but yet they don't want to talk to their kids about it themselves.
Well, you did a great gay public service with this interview: you probably saved many lives. I felt so much better informed about gay health. Thank you!

It's really scary how many different STDs there are... Amazing talk, so informative.
It's really scary but it doesn't stop a lot of gay men from being promiscuous.
In my town there's a billboard that says "have you heard of syphilis of the eyes?" I was like what 😮

I'm 54 so I totally get the fear of not using a condom. It still feels unreal sometimes!

Thanks! You too!
Ahahahaha! He said "It's kinda like doing the crucifix but with your finger in somebody's butthole." That's funny shit, right there
This is really brilliant. So helpful and informative. Thank you.
Doctor Carlton thank you for this information
Such an Awesome video regarding sexual health!!💙💙💙

I agree with everyone. Maybe have him one every 2 or 3 months. Maybe as pre- interview interview
Guys you both rock, thank you so much for educating us on all of this valuable information.
Outstanding and very informative. Thank you.

Always enjoy Dr. Carlton. Thanks for another great show

This vid was a long time coming. Overdue, even. Thanks.
This is a great information.
I live your podcast Jason ,and thought that Dr Carlton was very informative .I am on cabenuva which I like, except the shots can be painful.

Great informative video, Jason! BTW, your are looking hot and fantastic. You keep getting better looking! Love the shorter groomed beard on you!
very informative discussion. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice chat. Jason, I would enjoy teaching you how to tell time.
Could you have Dr. Evan Goldstein, DO on sometimes at Bespoke Medical?
😂 this is so funny, no filter here he really gets to the point. No pussy footing around 😅
Does DOCTOR CARLTON have a website or how can he be reached?
This is an important and detrimental information for sexual health! I was so ignorant about the subject! I leaned a lot.
Love the dip stick trick!
Jason,
How do I contact Doctor Carlton? Thanks for having him on.
His Instagram
So important... thank you both ...
Thank you for posting a video like this! 👍🏼👍🏼

Would love to take prep, Descovy, but even with insurance I can't afford it.
Informative and fantastic! Since I’m tight.
Keep up the good work
Good stuff. Thanks!
Is the sex worth so many problems
Yes🤭
Very informative thank you
"or pee on him"😂😂😂
I don't know if I missed it, but did they cover Monkey pox?
Thank you doctor for the tips , you are cute ❤
Oh hell. All this makes me want to go abstinent.
I appreciate the info though.
Thanks For this video
Damn! Dr. Carlton is so handsome 😍
Why u lookin at him he is mine😜
Thanks!
Thank you!!!
EXCELLENT!
So you need take down and Prep after exposure. Prep should be more widely available.
I learned good shit 😵
Will always be of the U=U outlook and that it's your choice. After that, don't be a prick and pepper others with questions
I have had blokes and I have asked. "Can I have an epidural with that?"
I kinda disagree with you on being on prep and doing it without a condom, that is a bad ideal since prep is not 100 percent guaranteed you are not going to contract anything
I'm sure Dr. Carlton knows a lot more about this topic that you do.
Actually the cdc recommends using condoms with PrEP so he other guy is right.
15:52 wait! I can take 3 Rx meds and I can be a complete slu7. Sweet
This has put me off sex forever.
Sex isnt worth all this.
CONGRATS TO ONES THE DOCTOR CHECK THERE BONES AND DENSITY. THAT TRUVADA PUT ME DIALYSIS, BROKEN TEETH AND BROKEN HIPS... THANKS GILEAD !!!!!
Sorry to hear that. That's one of the reasons I decided not to do PrEP
