King Gizzard side steps to the point that they're dancing lol. thats what i love about this band, its never about being 'better', being a fan of King Gizzard is always a gamble, but the effort they put into each album is what makes them worth coming back to like i wasnt a huge fan of butterfly 3000 but their 10 music videos and remix album was just this gift that kept giving, they're just a fun band to admire haha
I definitely think that's the best way for diverse, creative artists to get around having to try to best themselves. I think about OK Computer, how do you beat that album? You do something completely different, like Kid A, so that it's so hard to even compare the two, because they do completely different things.

Feeling so fortunate to live in this scary churning era that's being soundtracked by people like Stu, Ambrose, Joey, Cook, Lucas and Cavs, also Jason Galea (sorry Eric). The audience is allowed to be in the backseat along for the ride to witness their shared collaborative effort live. It is so inspiring and exciting to see and hear that pure creativity in action. No focus group of interim writers and producers, no airbrushing of flaws, no appealing to the marketable flavor of the week in charts. Just lovingly crafted, raw art with idealistic undertones of heartfelt societal commentary and WOOOOOs. I understand now what my dad meant when he described anxiously awaiting new releases of favorite artists and huddling around a record player with songs on repeat to ingest every detail in them. It's easy to feel jaded and disillusioned and powerless in this world, but artists like KG&LW turn "how will i get through another week" into "shit yeah let's make hay while the sun shines about it". A sincere reality check wrapped in a blanket of humor and love. All of 20 albums in and they haven't even begun to peak.

I love hearing more about Stu and the band's process making music because they just make so much of it in so many different genres while maintaining high quality AND touring with extremely demanding shows. Great interview, won a subscriber here. The Gizz are the most unique, mind blowing band I have ever come across. Their passion, commitment, and output since their inception is nothing short of phenomenal. Feel truely lucky to have them as part of my world now. Only jumped on the Gizzwagon a few years ago, but feel blessed to have so much to catch up on while still experiencing 2-3 albums a year to stay in the present. Best band of the modern era in my book, and a very high chance they’ll go down as the best ever in the years ahead if they even have half the output they have to date. Exceptional.

Was front row for their set at Coachella weekend 2 this year. Caught a gnarly setlist of MOTU, Rats Nest, and the metal songs on Omnium + Dripping Tap. Jealous of anything who catches their marathon sets. These guys are literal living legends 🙏🏼 long live the King Gizzard

The 1975 were headlong a festival and canceled because Matt Healy ‘got to wavy’ the night before, so King Gizz played a double set to close the festival and oh my GOD. Planet B was fucking MENTAL. Had tickets for a show in 2020, but we all know how that turned out. Absolutely electrifying performance, and well worth the wait. Love these guys and I'm so excited to see more!
