At the part where he sees the circus contract for Dorie, Ryan thinks that the father signed it, but he didn't, the mother actually knew the father wouldn't agree with this so she committed a crime and signed it as him without his permission. Practically ruining Dorie's childhood as she is tied up with a circus and will fail school, so when she turns 16 she will have no knowledge of anything and most likely end up on the streets because of her mother's selfish and poorly chosen actions, this is absolutely tragic.
@@blarmy827 Yeah, but even though it's not true you have to admit Ryan's comprehension of stories in games is really bad sometimes. Like the part where he thought Walter killed Martha and Dorie by cutting the ropes and Walter asking himself why he would do that then Ryan saying, "Was it the money? I think it was the money. Was this dude blinded by that?" even though it was very clear throughout that Martha was trying to take Dorie away by forcing her to stay in the circus with her and was planning on taking the kid away from Walter since he didn't approve and Walter was trying to stop Martha from doing that. Again, yeah, none of it was real, but it's just crazy how Ryan can't follow a simple story sometimes when all the context is right there and it's literally telling you what's going on but you're still super lost and think something completely different from what you're being told. He's done that in a lot of other games too and it kills me every time lol
For your answer, the problem for 8 Bitryan not understanding the story is because of that he talks too much. I like 8 Bitryan and his videos, but he needs to commentate at least a little less to understand what's going on.
First off, thanks for the video! Secondly, one thing I noticed is memory facility is called 'Norn' and the fake nightclub to lure the viewpoint character in is called 'Urd'-- those are, respectively, figures in Norse myth-- the Norns were the goddesses that basically wrote out your fate and what your life would be like and Urd was the particular Norn in charge of the past , so that's a really fun easter egg.
I saw Skuld was the name of a room which is another Norn, I think it was a locked door? Skuld is the Norn of the future, so that tracks. Verðandi the third one may have been in there but I didnt catch it, maybe because he's in the present. Also the puzzle orb he never solved with the discs in the facility looks like a Neolithic stone ball, mysterious objects that were found all over UK but mostly at the top in Scotland. That specific one looks like the one found in Towie in Aberdeenshire. It's pretty interesting.
that twist was insane- I knew there was a twist in the title but I fully expected just "oh a really good psychological horror" but they're not psychological at all, or symbolic! the entire thing was fake- and that idea wipes back around to it being psychological horror the signs show up early too with the whole memories falling into place, but you'd just think it's a generic trope or the intro scene, but that's also a generic trope it uses that subversion of expectation to masterful execution and I'm glad you played this as I would not have known about this masterpiece otherwise
Like Ryan said, the real brilliance of the game is how well you get suckered into old and tired tropes for the entire first hour of play. The game could have easily just been about the circus and it still would have been pretty well received. But when that twist hits you, all of a sudden those things that didn’t quite add up start to slot into place. All in all an amazing game!
I’m so glad Ryan went back and found the good ending because after watching Liam end up back in the fake memories again I had to pause the video and stare at the wall for a few minutes I was so upset 😭
That final sunrise, there was a blot in his vision just at the end before it faded out. I think my man´s dying from brain hemorrhage, no happy ending, only death.
Well it’s still possible he could be saved if he got to a hospital in time but then who knows how fast the government would drag him back in or kill him but he seemed smart enough that maybe just maybe he could get away if he had time to get better enough to run away
I feel like the first ending is essential for the whole game. Like the thought of him getting back to the fake memories really hit, cause he kept being like "How do I know to do this" and "Am I doing this before?" This only means that he keeps going back in a circle after killing all the scientists.
I got the feeling in the first ending he realised there was more comfort in the fake reality, as traumatic as it was, especially after killing everyone I'd guess. So he ended up keeping going back to it.
This reminds me of that game, where the dude breaks into the rich man’s house and there’s different endings and there’s one ending where he finishes his book and his family leaves him but when he doesn’t finish the book his family stays
1:24:18 this was the single coolest moment imo. reveals so much about how it's all so trippy, yet in a fraction of a second all the outer workings are gone also this reminds me off that one FNAF short story about fnaf4 where the guy is trapped in a never ending loop of the house
Such a wonderful, creative game! I really enjoyed all of the cool twists. Psychological horror is my favorite kind of horror, seeing what a character goes through and if the things around them are real or just a simulation. Very intriguing and creepy.

I haven't even finished the video yet, but this storyline absolutely breaks me. From the hints, I know it wasn't Walter that was in the wrong. The contact- *the signatures.* Martha must've forged Walter's signature, and my heart wrenches for Dorie. This is supposed to be a horror game but I'm about to cry.

Wow,this was a super cool horror game. Reminds me of a piece of fiction I'm writing. I love how twisty it all was. Excellent. And thanks to Ryan for his commentary, I appreciate how well presented it all was and your lingering on the lore and notes. Thanks for the video.

This game was an absolute blast to play, wish more games were set in the closed, broken down circus setting. And the twist at the end is fantastic, did not see that coming
I'm shocked Ryan didn't connect the dots on the apartment other than the memory. It's also the same apt layout from the Convience Store from ChillasArt.
And lo, since I love Ryan's videos so much, I spent a literal hour and a half writing this story of my take on REVEIL! This legit might be the longest story I have ever wrote, this took me 5 and a half hours so if you read it all I would sincerely appreciate it, and also be astronomically flabergasted and if you dont fall unconcious by the time you are half way through, and if you are wondering, with kinito and me, my favourite word is pulchritudinous, dont ask what it means, YOUR WELCOME, also a little warning, prepare yourself before you press read more, this is my longest story and my most proudest, I expect lots of comments below saying, IM NOT GOING TO READ ALL THAT, but I came prepared this time with a lot more than I usually bring to the table and this time I had to shorten it because youtube didnt allow me to post something that big lmao XD - *In the neon-lit 1980s, the vibrant atmosphere of university life did little to dispel the shadows that haunted 8-bit Ryan's past. The buzzing sounds of arcade games and the flickering glow of pixelated screens provided a temporary escape, but the looming call from his father, Eiji, shattered the illusion of carefree existence. Eiji's somber voice crackled through the phone, urging Ryan to return to Ichinose, his late mother's hometown. The urgency in his father's tone hinted at a dire situation - the health of his estranged maternal grandmother, Kinu Miyama, had taken a sudden downturn. As Ryan stepped off the train in Ichinose, the air carried a heavy weight of nostalgia and unspoken sorrow. The quaint town, draped in cherry blossoms, seemed to whisper secrets of the past. Guided by the cryptic call of duty, Ryan found himself at the Miyama residence. The ancient house loomed like a specter from a bygone era, its walls echoing with the untold stories of generations past. Intrigued by the mysterious blurb he had stumbled upon, Ryan delved into the shadows that clung to the Miyama legacy. "The thing with silkworms, you know; even if they could leave their cocoons, they have no mouths to eat, and their wings do not fly," the quote resonated within him as he uncovered a series of cryptic letters and notes from his grandmother Kinu. Each revelation pulled him deeper into the cocoon of secrets that housed a terrifying creature known as the silkworm. Ryan's journey through the Miyama mansion unearthed the tragic past that Kinu had endured, a path that seemed destined for him as well. The sky reddened in the twilight, and the mountains cast an ominous shadow, mirroring the darkness that lurked within the family's history. In a room veiled by the passage of time, Ryan experienced a vivid nightmare that intertwined with the threads of his family's suffering. His grandfather Souchi, once a beacon of affection, now haunted his dreams. The memory of the only conversation he'd had with Kinu as a young boy echoed, and the chilling revelation of his mother's suicide sent shivers down his spine. As the narrative unfolded, it became clear that Kinu's tragic tale originated from a love triangle with Souchi, who was originally engaged to Ayano, Kinu's older sister. Abandoning Ayano during a fateful mountain walk triggered a sequence of events that led to Ayano's Monstrous Transformation, a vampiric humanoid silkworm. The Miyama sisters' bond, forged through the loss of their mother, shattered, leading Ayano down a path of darkness. The family doctor, coerced by Kyuhei, Kinu and Ayano's father, concealed Ayano's monstrous side from the public, sealing the fate of the innocent servant who fell victim to her insatiable bloodlust. Ryan, now entangled in the web of family secrets, faced a formidable challenge. Ayano's transformation unleashed a nightmarish reality within the Miyama mansion. The insatiable bloodlust, the grotesque physical changes, and the monstrous aura that clung to the house compelled Ryan to fight for his life. The silkworm, a symbolic abomination, epitomized the suffering that plagued the Miyama lineage. Ryan's own blood, tainted by the family curse, pulsed with an unnatural hunger, a shared affliction with his vampiric kin. In the heart of the mansion, Ryan confronted the creature that dwelled within the cocoon, a manifestation of centuries-old agony. The battle for survival blurred the lines between reality and nightmare, and the secrets hidden within the walls threatened to consume him. Each step echoed with the haunting whispers of the past, and the oppressive silence seemed to amplify the ominous heartbeat of the silkworm creature, steadily inching closer to the heart of the mansion. He could feel the malevolence in the air, a palpable force that sought him out with a relentless determination. Finally reaching the dilapidated front door, Ryan emerged into the moonlit courtyard, gasping for breath. The mansion's silhouette stood tall against the night sky, its windows like vacant eyes staring into the abyss. However, the reprieve was short-lived. The ground beneath him trembled, and a deafening roar shattered the stillness. As Ryan gazed in horror, a monstrous silhouette emerged from the earth itself - the silkworm, now an abomination of colossal proportions, rose before him. Its grotesque form, 20 meters tall, cast a looming shadow over the once-sacred grounds. In a heart-stopping moment, the creature's monstrous eyes fixated on Ryan, its hunger for revenge evident. Without hesitation, the colossal silkworm lunged towards him, the very earth trembling with each thunderous step. Panic surged through Ryan as he sprinted, desperately seeking escape from the relentless pursuit. The ground quivered beneath him as the silkworm's gaping maw descended, threatening to consume him whole. In a desperate bid for survival, Ryan plunged his spear into the creature's monstrous form, unleashing a torrent of thick, viscous fluid. The world seemed to slow as he fought against the suffocating embrace of the silkworm's digestive tract. The battle within the belly of the beast was a harrowing struggle against the pulsating walls closing in on him. Darkness enveloped him, the acidic stench of the creature's innards assaulting his senses. Summoning every ounce of strength, Ryan thrust his spear deeper into the beast's brain, a final act of defiance. The creature convulsed, its monstrous form spasming in agony. As the world around him seemed to collapse, the silkworm spat him out onto the blood-soaked ground. Breathless and battered, Ryan lay on the courtyard as the colossal creature, wounded and defeated, sank back into the earth. The malevolent tyranny of the silkworm, now silenced, descended into the underworld below. The moon cast its gentle glow upon the scene, the world finally free from the malicious grip that had plagued it for centuries. As the specter of the silkworm vanished into the abyss, Ryan's exhausted body lay amidst the ruins, the weight of the ordeal etched into his very being. The once-sinister mansion, now devoid of its monstrous secret, stood as a relic of the past. With the night's silence broken only by the distant echoes of victory, Ryan's journey came to an end, leaving the world liberated from the shackles of an ancient malevolence. Just as he began to come to terms with the turmoil that had gripped his family for generations, the distant sounds of approaching footsteps echoed through the courtyard. The silhouette of familiar faces emerged from the shadows - Eiji, his father, and the remaining members of his family rushed to the scene. Their eyes met in a mixture of relief and sorrow, the weight of shared history etched into every line on their faces. Eiji, with tears in his eyes, reached out to Ryan, offering a comforting embrace. "You can rest in peace now. Tomorrow, the world will be rid of the silkworm, and you will be free once more." The courtyard, once a battlefield, transformed into a haven of shared understanding. The familial bond, once strained by the darkness that lurked within, now became a source of solace. Each member of the Miyama family stood united, their shared struggles woven into the fabric of their legacy. As the moon bathed them in its gentle light, a sense of closure washed over them. The journey had been arduous, the pain unforgettable, but in that moment, they found a glimmer of peace. The echoes of the past lingered, but with each breath, they embraced the promise of a new dawn. The next morning, the sun rose over Ichinose, casting its warm rays on the town that had witnessed centuries of hidden suffering. The Miyama family gathered one last time, standing before the remnants of the mansion that had held their secrets. As they watched in silence, the earth trembled once more, but this time it was not a harbinger of darkness. The weight of the past had been lifted, and a new chapter unfolded before them. They vowed to honor the memories of those lost, to cherish the bonds that remained, and to forge a future unburdened by the shadows of yesteryears. As the sun climbed higher in the sky, bathing Ichinose in a warm embrace, the Miyama family turned away from the remnants of the mansion. Their journey had been one of pain and redemption, but in the end, they emerged stronger, their unity unbroken. And so, as the pages of their family's history turned, the Miyama legacy lived on - a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, the power of familial bonds, and the enduring hope that even the darkest nightmares can be vanquished in the light of a new day* . And there it is lol, so much time put into this story, but this game is just truly amazing so I felt the honor to write this story, I hope no 6 year olds read this, or they may never be the same again lol, but apart from that, hope you enjoyed the story, and if you are wondering yes I am an author lol, I am writing a story called long may they stand with 37,000 words atm, AND EVERYONE KNOWS THAT AUTHORS GAME 23 hours a day lmao XD 💀💀💀
The part of me that loves the aesthetic of circuses and the house really enjoyed this, the part of me that loves the door factory in monsters inc really enjoyed this, and the horror game part of me really enjoyed this. Thanks Ryan for bringing this game up and i hope other people play it too
Can’t remember the name but this reminds me of an anthology game with different setting but we’re all part of one story the different setting models remind me of that
I love this game, reminds me a bit of Layers of Fear. Oh and I agree with you Ryan, exotic animals do NOT belong in circuses! It is outlawed here in the states, but a lot of other circuses around the world still have them.
before the plot is reveal (at the part where walter fall into his house) while i was cooking and listening to this i was jokingly predicting that it all must have been an forcefully inserted false memory because otherwise why reveal everything was fake and constructed (the fact everything was a prop) ,and wow that actually a clever twist that uses something that i rarely seen in video game or at least done right
Another vid! Props to you Ryan!!! The video grind is crazy !!! The vids are great too! Most consistent uploader I've ever seen honestly, keep up the good work!!!
Ryan , how do you manage recording and editing? like do you record multiple times a day and then edit those for a certain period of time or do you make the video and edit it then post it right after? love your channel btw 😎
Is it just me or if i watch this at night while my headphones are on, i don't feel scared because I'm like in the game but i can only spectate while Ryan just plays the game?
I felt almost annoyed that this one was 2hrs because I wanted to watch all ur videos in order, but I am insanely thankful I watched the entire thing. The twist was SO AMAZING
At 1:04:33 when the MC mentions something came out where the Zohan was, the Tarot Card you pick up is one of a crow. Typically crows in stories and media are symbolism that either something bad will happen or that someone is gonna die. The game even shows you a crow flying a little after that at 1:05:03 just to milk the part of what happens even after it hinted at the future with the Tarot Card.
Please play “in sound mind,” it’s one of the best indie horror games I’ve ever seen .. the details and everything so intricate in this world… the characters…. There’s a disclaimer at the beginning where they said to use all video and music in the game freely in reactions, gameplay or anything…. And it’s truly a special game that’s so underrated. I dare you to play and find anything not to like about it. The characters, the unique weapons, mechanics, the best boss designs I’ve seen in a long time tied into the stories of the characters…. Ugh it’s unreal… please check this one out !

Its all tragic that it was fake like imagine being told u got a wife and a daughter just to find out your whole life was inside a simulation.

This legit might be the longest story I have ever wrote, this took me 5 and a half hours so if you read it all I would sincerely appreciate it, and also be astronomically flabergasted and if you dont fall unconcious by the time you are half way through, and if you are wondering, with kinito and me, my favourite word is pulchritudinous, dont ask what it means, YOUR WELCOME, also a little warning, prepare yourself before you press read more, this is my longest story and my most proudest, I expect lots of comments below saying, IM NOT GOING TO READ ALL THAT, but I came prepared this time with a lot more than I usually bring to the table and this time I had to shorten it because youtube didnt allow me to post something that big lmao XD -
*In the neon-lit 1980s, the vibrant atmosphere of university life did little to dispel the shadows that haunted 8-bit Ryan's past.

"Where did she go?"
"Wait, where did I go???"
Can’t remember the name but this reminds me of an anthology game with different setting but we’re all part of one story the different setting models remind me of that

Pretty sure that black splotch that suddenly appeared in his vision was him dying.
I love this game, reminds me a bit of Layers of Fear. Oh and I agree with you Ryan, exotic animals do NOT belong in circuses! It is outlawed here in the states, but a lot of other circuses around the world still have them.
Loved this video. keep up the good work :) and love your explanation
Oooh, ive been super depressed and anxious the past week. Thank you for helping!

19:05 is the song he played during his dying light series 5 years ago, its the song when u do raises quests, he still uses it :O
before the plot is reveal (at the part where walter fall into his house) while i was cooking and listening to this i was jokingly predicting that it all must have been an forcefully inserted false memory because otherwise why reveal everything was fake and constructed (the fact everything was a prop) ,and wow that actually a clever twist that uses something that i rarely seen in video game or at least done right
This game reminded me of the hypnotic movie it's kinda the same concept although the people who have this strange facility have hypnosis powers
What a story! Standing ovation.
Another vid! Props to you Ryan!!! The video grind is crazy !!! The vids are great too! Most consistent uploader I've ever seen honestly, keep up the good work!!!
ryan your doing great i enjoy your content so much and im sure many other people do as well keep it up
2 hour of Ryan screaming? I’m strapping in for this one
Ryan , how do you manage recording and editing? like do you record multiple times a day and then edit those for a certain period of time or do you make the video and edit it then post it right after?
love your channel btw 😎
I'd love to know this too especially since he's been pumping out these longer videos a lot more frequently
I guess you are right he records multiple videos and edits them when he uploads one he has another saved video to upload after the next one
I had to take a break halfway and thought this is a bad game, but since this is a Ryan video, i tried to finish it, and it really paid off.
Is it just me or if i watch this at night while my headphones are on, i don't feel scared because I'm like in the game but i can only spectate while Ryan just plays the game?
45:00 Lmao I love the scared singing he was doing.
This game genuinely reminds me of The Park and i love it

Man this game is creepy and the twist is so crazy

2:09:51 ryan mentioning a sine wave as a pre-calculus student is SCARY
The drawing you couldn't see was a bloodshot eye with the rest of the page covered in blood.
the section with the repairing of the maniquine [im at 48:15 currently] ; the coloring reminds me of the clown area of Dark Deseption /g
That was really good😊 And it did remind me of layers of fear too.
Love the longer less edited series
long ryan vids bring me vibrations in my family jewels
This is Devotion with clowns and the circus and then becomes the cabin in the woods x.x
This could be a movie!! Its so interesting and captivating!
bro casually dropped a 2 hour video to grace our weekend
For some reason, this game reminds me of that show Westworld
It's time to relax and fall asleep to this while appreciating the long video. 😊❤😊
Hey Ryan, any chance you could finish Mario Madness V2? The rest of the game is even crazier I promise. Please let me/us know your intentions on completing the game or not. Much love.
8-BitRyan, if you read this comment, I love all of your content and enjoy seeing the creativity in it. I would love to see you play Rhythm Doctor, another really good rhythm game!
