  • We did it in Disney's California Adventure, but can we pull it off in the crown jewel of the Disneyland resort? We're trying out those Disney Genie Slots on the west coast to see if the tips and tricks we rely on here in Orlando will still work at Disneyland. How much can we get done? Let's find out!
    Along the way, we'll share some information about big changes coming to Walt Disney World including an addition to Frontierland in Magic Kingdom that we learned about while we were in Anaheim for the D23 Expo. We'll also talk about some sad news for fans of Dinoland USA in Animal Kingdom.

    I’ve often found that you don’t even need to book some lightning lanes super early because you’re not actually skipping any line. I’ve used lightning lanes and skipped maybe 1 small group and was so upset I wasted it! Use those first few hours of the day to hit pirates or Winnie the Pooh and catch some breakfast - book a lightning lane for Haunted mansion or big thunder so you can jump right on when you’re ready to start moving after breakfast! After the first 2 hours of park opening is when multi-day vacationers and locals typically show up so right before that book a lightning lane! By waiting a bit you can ride some rides twice - once without a LL and once with. I’ve also found that Smugglers run, star tours, big Thunder mountain Railroad, and sometimes splash mountain (depending on the weather/season) have almost-immediate return times all day! Just some tips from a Disneyland local who uses Genie+ every time for a party of 4! ❤️

      Thanks for the tips! Yes, Disneyland is so different. Especially since people can’t book until they enter the park. Here, some Lightning Lanes are gone for the entire day by the time the park opens on busy days. 😂 I like your system way better. 😃

    Basically my strat...peter pan first always, its impossible to get on aftwr that in a timely way...then i go to Dumbo, then alice...mr toad, snow-white, Pinocchio and the others will have down times...but peter pan and Dumbo almost never do, and alice is hit/miss...but you can consistently find a 25 min or less wait at some point for the other fantasyland rides...thats the trick, fantasyland is what kills you, it isnt indiana jones or space mountain, those rides are very easy to get on with lightning lane...but if yoir goal is to get on everything, and you spend your early hours doing the big thrill rides, its most likely peter pan or dumbo is where youll fail...no matter your strategy tho, i think the key similarity should be to take care of fantasyland first

    We were just at Disneyland and California Adventure for 2 days between Christmas and New Years! We played the Genie Slots just like at Disney World and were extremely successful. We rode everything we wanted to (except Nemo's Subs). We even rode some rides several times using rope drop, park hopper, and Genie Slot strategies! We bought ILL for Rise and Racers. Genie Slots works even later in the day! Thank you so much for your videos!

    Hey guys, Disneyland looked like a blast, but we're happy you're back where you belong, lol. Do you think you will ever do any videos on the hard to book restaurants? I'm curious to know how hard it is to book a reservation at one of the most popular places within that 60-day window disney gives us?
    Thanks for another fun video!

    • @EarScouts
      @EarScouts  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Kim! Thanks - as always - for watching and leaving a great comment. Booking Advance Dining Reservations is tricky and to be honest, I’ve had very mixed results. I tend to get luckier booking closer to the day I want to go as people cancel. I’ve done the whole booking first thing in the morning on the first day and it is still really tricky. We would definitely consider covering this in a future video, though. Thanks for the suggestion! 👍

    Hi Ear Scouts! Loved your tips for Disney World when we visited in the summer. Now you're in my neck of the woods, Disneyland! Welcome to Cali! Hope you enjoyed the weather out here in the Anaheim, OC (Orange County, not LA) in September. It's very different than what we experienced with the kids out in Orlando!

    Rob, we love and trust all your videos. We are heading for CA for our first time after many WDW visits, so this was helpful! Is there at Disneyland TH-camr you recommend who will help us like you did? We only have 2 days there so we need to strategize! Thanks!

    Disneyland Genie+ is SOO different. You can't book LL at home. You have to be physically at the park. It is even more important to "rope drop" because there are many super popular rides that don't have Genie+ at all. (Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, and nearly all of Fantasyland). I don't book my first LL until a 10:00am time slot. You don't really need it in the first 2 hours of the day. I've tried to modify many times to get a better time, but find it doesn't really work. Usually the time you first get is the time you'll have. LL doesn't usually run out for a ride until later in the afternoon, but still best to get the most popular rides done first.

      Universal is building a whole other theme park and their attendance is already way up. I think Disney knows they need to keep up, so I’m hopeful most (if not all) of these plans come to fruition. But we’ll see…you may be right.

    With the updates to genie plus, do you think you could do both parks in 1 day if you:
    - go on a Wednesday in late January or early February
    - only want to ride Cars, Rise, and the genie plus rides
    - rope drop and stay until park close

    • @heyimannaka
      @heyimannaka ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! If you’re prioritizing rides and booking lightning lanes and mobile ordering food while waiting in line you should be able to hit up everything you’re after!

    How are you able to book rides every hour ? I thought we had to wait 120mins until the next LL reservation

    • @EarScouts
      @EarScouts  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can book after tapping in at the most recent Lightning Lane that you booked - or after 120 minutes, whichever comes first. Thanks for watching! 😃

    Disneyland is in Anaheim friend not LA. Fun informative video nonetheless!
    Some tips from of us who were born and raised in SoCal:
    1. Arrive early for Rope Drop. Okay to be at the parking structure by 715am but NLT 730am.
    2. Mondays are the worst day to visit and most crowded.
    3. Numerous hotels on Harbor and Katella that are much less than the DL hotels. As low as $150-$250 per night.
    4. Don't book any LL between park opening and about 930am. Lines are always short and pretty much 20 min waits or less except radiatior springs and Star Wars. You are basically wasting your LL and not receiving any value out of it.
    5. Single Rider is a great option to use for those who are willing to be split up.
    6. Radiator Springs single rider is an option that's great too to avoid paying the ILL.
    7. Better food at DCA.
    8. Be extra nice to CM's. Please and thank you go along way.
