    I actually prefer halogen interior lights. The dimmer, warmer light has a more cozy interior effect. Also, the brighter it is inside, the easier it is for others to see inside, and the harder it is for you to see outside. You really want it to be just bright enough inside that you can see whatever it is you're trying to do.

    the cars meant to be bought as the base level and then upgraded, if you want something to actually wow you. A $10 LED kit, $20 wireless CarPlay adapter that u can 3m tape to the front lip of the center console, 4¢ of 3d printer filament for a trunk handle, cup holder expander, heated buckets, better backup cam, custom audio setup, ur own wheels and tires, custom exhaust, custom suspension mods. a lot of the problems are mediocrely solved by the premium, but doing it yourself will make a world of difference.

    As someone who daily drives a 23' I think this car was intended to be bought for relatively cheap and upgraded by an enthusiast, and like you said the fixes are out there, even the stereo, I installed this beatsonic amp, It sounds better but im not an audiophile so idrk how to describe the difference. I also have that mark on my side skirt there and being in a supra I could see why it has the same issue, I'm pretty sure its cause by your shoe heel rubbing on it when you get out of the car, I switch from sneakers to work boots when I get to work so it def made the problem a little worse, but it can be buffed out. And yeah truck exhausts sound terrible 😭

    Like everyone has stated before me. It’s entry level, and they knew people will modify these to their taste. My only complaint comes down to the power. I would have definitely paid good money for a trim level that came with the WRX’s turbo engine. People will just say boost it then. And I probably will. But then you can kiss the warranty goodbye.

    • @ShayHarambe
      @ShayHarambe  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did think it was wild it didn’t come with that engine. I’m assuming they wanted to keep it as close to 50/50 weight and keep the power to weight lower. Such a light car with a turboed engine probably would have been wild lol.

    For 2024 there is a performance package for only $1,500 that includes front/rear brembos and Sachs Dampers. Did you choose not to get the package, or were you not aware It existed? I have a feeling that dealers don't even mention it.

    • @ShayHarambe

      @@ShayHarambe You can actually go to your dealer and ask them how much it would be to retrofit the performance package on your car. Dealers also offer to retrofit the new performance package on 22 and 23 models as well.
      It was only $1,500 if you had included it in your order. I'm not sure how much they would charge for it now though.
      It's definitely going to be more than $1,500 now because it includes front and rear Brembo calipers, upgraded Sachs Dampers, larger front and rear discs, and upgraded pads as well.
      If you were to do that in the aftermarket for parts and labor you'd be looking at $5-6K. If you can get it for under $3,000 installed then it's definitely worth it. And It's not just front Brembo calipers but also rear ones. Four piston in the front and two piston rear. Here's a picture of how it looks.

      @@kiwiguzman7365But I'm assuming that, at least down here in Miami, when you going to a Toyota dealer for a GR86, You're generally not taking one from the showroom floor, cuz they generally don't have any. So I would assume that anyone that does know about that $1,500 package existing on a GR86 would ask for one that has it installed from the factory. Might take longer to find or locate, but seems like a massive steal, that would otherwise cost 5-7K in the aftermarket.

    The smudge on the rocker panel could be from drips coming out of the mirror base after washing. Use some air pressure while drying and that would help and be sure to dry the underside of the door. As a manufacturer you have to draw the line somewhere when it comes to adding creature comforts and expensive materials to any car. But I do agree there are a few areas where I wish they had done better.

    • @ShayHarambe
      @ShayHarambe  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a good point! It probably is the water from the mirror. It is right under it on the 86 and Supra 🤔 yeah that’s what I’ve been saying however all these people throwing a fit about it. The 86 has all this technology between full digital display, adaptive steering headlight thingy, collision thing, crossing lanes thing and they really cheaped out on just a few things that I imagine can’t cost that much. My 2018 base model wrx had LEDs and wireless CarPlay. 🤷‍♂️ this is a 2024 premium and it doesn’t. They have resolutions for it though but people seem to miss me saying that part.

    I actually prefer that this car doesn't have all the wireless and connectivity _stuff,_ a much better situation in regards of personal privacy and security.
    The halogens are really mind-boggling, the handprints on the trunk won't be really noticeable if you ceramic coat, and I never really found a car with truly satisfying cup holder placement and sound systems. Cup holders have always been more of an afterthought, and typically if you really want good audio in your car, some modding both software and hardware will be mandatory, but it's not like you need a full "3D sound" experience while on the road... Though I don't know, I would have to hear it before saying the audio is no problem. If it's really thin or really bassy with bad audio balancing controls which I've seen on some more expensive cars as well, it might be worth the outrage.

With this car it gives diyers and old school heads the chance to upgrade and modify the car to what they want just like the original Supra, if you want wireless car play pay for the dongle or research and play with doner parts from the Supra or 4 runner like the focus st guys do with the sync 2 to sync 3 upgrade and they are already working on sync 4 retro fit to add wireless car play.
