@@ShayHarambeI got the upgraded bulb package from Kevin at driven media and while I do like the reverse and truck lights the interior ones are too bright
@@ShayHarambe it's not more so annoying. It's more about the fact that the car you bought is an entry level sports car. While you compare it to a 2021 supra which is a luxury sports car there will be difference there.

You really want it to be just bright enough inside that you can see whatever it is you're trying to do.
@ShayHarambe I get your point. Some older cars definitely hit the mark where 86 '24 should be standard. Again, veloster N '22 comparable pricing has the whole package. Nav system, exhuast , turbo , 8 speed wet dual clutch , more horse power & spoiler , and 19inch & break package included.

Aftermarket LED just keep burning and blow fuses. I'd rather keep the stock halogen than waste time changing those damn lights again and again. Same for headlights.
That’s weird. I believe LED draws less power so it shouldn’t. I don’t want to sound rude but they arnt the cheap LEDs are they? I usually only buy quality LEDs. Like diode dynamics.

As someone who daily drives a 23' I think this car was intended to be bought for relatively cheap and upgraded by an enthusiast, and like you said the fixes are out there, even the stereo, I installed this beatsonic amp, It sounds better but im not an audiophile so idrk how to describe the difference. I also have that mark on my side skirt there and being in a supra I could see why it has the same issue, I'm pretty sure its cause by your shoe heel rubbing on it when you get out of the car, I switch from sneakers to work boots when I get to work so it def made the problem a little worse, but it can be buffed out. And yeah truck exhausts sound terrible 😭
I agree. I feel as if some of the comments here don’t understand the point of the video. Like you said I did mention the fixes are already out there. 🤷♂️ I’ll have to take a look at that amp for the stereo. Idk what it is about trucks but some people do something to their exhaust and it just sounds so bad. Almost sounds like open headers.
Like everyone has stated before me. It’s entry level, and they knew people will modify these to their taste. My only complaint comes down to the power. I would have definitely paid good money for a trim level that came with the WRX’s turbo engine. People will just say boost it then. And I probably will. But then you can kiss the warranty goodbye.
I did think it was wild it didn’t come with that engine. I’m assuming they wanted to keep it as close to 50/50 weight and keep the power to weight lower. Such a light car with a turboed engine probably would have been wild lol.
For 2024 there is a performance package for only $1,500 that includes front/rear brembos and Sachs Dampers. Did you choose not to get the package, or were you not aware It existed? I have a feeling that dealers don't even mention it.
@@ShayHarambe You can actually go to your dealer and ask them how much it would be to retrofit the performance package on your car. Dealers also offer to retrofit the new performance package on 22 and 23 models as well. It was only $1,500 if you had included it in your order. I'm not sure how much they would charge for it now though. It's definitely going to be more than $1,500 now because it includes front and rear Brembo calipers, upgraded Sachs Dampers, larger front and rear discs, and upgraded pads as well. If you were to do that in the aftermarket for parts and labor you'd be looking at $5-6K. If you can get it for under $3,000 installed then it's definitely worth it. The smudge on the rocker panel could be from drips coming out of the mirror base after washing. Use some air pressure while drying and that would help and be sure to dry the underside of the door. @@ShayHarambe yes. It was one of the options I checked off when pre-ordering my ‘24 BRZ. Can’t brag though, I had it for four whole days since 4/18. It’s been in the shop ever since with a malfunctioning EyeSight camera system that has baffled even the engineers at Subaru. Looks like Subaru might be buying it back from me. Super disappointed. Only options are for them to fix it before the paperwork comes through for them to repurchase it, have Subaru find me an identical replacement (unlikely as mine was a custom order), or take the refund and try my luck at a BRZ elsewhere in the country or find a GR86 (as I can use all the aftermarket lighting and some of the accessories I purchased). Ridiculous experience considering my previous BRZ was 11+ years old with over $130k miles on it. Still looked great and never had any real issues with it.
@@ShayHarambe Anytime another vehicle crossed my path, whether it be a lane change on the highway or a car crossing in front of me at an intersection, a chime would sound an an error message would appear on the dash screen. Additionally, any time I would approach a changing traffic light, or stopped at a light, a color change (e.g. red to green) would also trigger that chime and error message. It said something like "[EyeSight Disabled. Unable to view.]" The camera system was replaced first. Then it was found that there were huge imperfections in the windshield (think waves within the glass) that were thought to be the problem (distorting what the camera was seeing). Then they tried a shim kit to change the angle of camera's view. Everything failed. An engineer from corporate investigated the issue firsthand and he was certain it was the windshield. He is apparently coming back next week. I am expecting full resolution within 14 days from now - either the car being fixed, getting a replacement from Subaru, or getting my money back plus the cost of the accessories and insurance that was spent on the car......and then getting a new GR86.

It’s a cost efficient rwd manual cornering machine made for late braking, if they did all these extra little things it would shoot the price of the car up along side the Supra, making the 86 irrelevant when you have to look at power to cost. With this car it gives diyers and old school heads the chance to upgrade and modify the car to what they want just like the original Supra, if you want wireless car play pay for the dongle or research and play with doner parts from the Supra or 4 runner like the focus st guys do with the sync 2 to sync 3 upgrade and they are already working on sync 4 retro fit to add wireless car play. You can complain or do something about it, just depends on how much you care.
I do agree. With those extra things this car would be a lot less affordable for an entry level sports car. However in terms of fixing things I haven’t actually fixed all of my gripes. I haven’t made a video discussing the wireless CarPlay thing however that will be soon.
appreciate the video! i also agree with the lack of things hopefully can buy it in the future
Thank you 🙏
Love my neptune blue premium MT and came from e92 bmw MT. Perfect for me in many ways. Small things left room for desire. But, the price point is untouchable
You would think since you spend that kinda money and that trim level wireless carplay should be included.
That’s what I’m saying. 😫 It’s such a common thing now I would think it would be included.
Thoughts on the engine failure?
The whole RTV thing was fixed.
@@ShayHarambe I still see the RTV in the oil pickup for 2024 models, theres a vid on it th-cam.com/video/7nDYQhqqxFc/w-d-xo.html . Did you mean you fixed it yourself or what happened?
@@ShayHarambewhere was this addressed? I’d love to see because I’m planning on getting a 24 gr86
@@lukedickhaus5787 I had read they fixed it on 2023 and above models.
I just got mine Monday. Same color. The storage/cupholder situation bothered me the first time I saw it.
Yeaaaa it’s a little odd but I see what they where trying to do
Cost cutting
What boggled me is no USB-C plug in the console. In 2024. Really??
Yeah even that is wild. I understand it’s a “entry level sports car” however it’s 2024. Some stuff is just standard.
The 2024 BRZ offers an LED upgrade option for the interior lighting. A shame Toyota doesn’t. I bought an aftermarket 4th brake light that is all LED with an F1 brake feature.
Do they really? It must be a Toyota thing. They always seem to be right behind the curb. I actually just posted a video today of doing the LED upgrades 😂
Wow that’s nuts! 😟 What was the whole eye sight thing doing?
@@ShayHarambe It was beeping and giving error messages anytime another vehicle crossed my path whether it be at an intersection or on the highway. Additionally, it would also go off if it detected a traffic light changes (e.g. turning from red to green). The error message would say something like, "EyeSight disabled. No camera view." This deactivated lane departure alerts, pre-collision avoidance safety features, and adaptive cruise control.
Thank god the bulbs arent LED, easier to replace and doesnt cost a fortune. More money than sense
LEDs almost never go out and if they do it’s like $15. 🤷♂️
wait not wireless? Bluetooth isnt wireless??
It is but CarPlay utilizes wifi
cool fuucking viid maaaan I like how you are really knit picky and show all of the things that you actuually don't like. Anyways are there any reliability issues so far? Looking to buy this as my first car that will also be my daily driver :3
😂 yeaaa people took it really offensive like. I was just giving my opinion. Especially on a car that was built in 2024. My 2018 base model wrx had wireless CarPlay and leds. Nothing yet! I have about 3k miles on it right now. Right now I am on a road trip and just drop 5 hours one way. It was great!
Why doesn't my cheap sportscar have the same goodies as my higher-end sportscar? I don't quite understand it!
😂😂😂 a Nissan Altima has these things. Understand that?
I believe a subwoofer is an added accessory before purchase
yeah most of your "complaints" are simply explained with its a budget sportscar. I´m more interested in the fact that you got a manual car with lane assist? Mine doesnt have it . why is that?
Oh wow! Mine has the whole eye sight thing. I didnt see it on the sheet when I bought the car but it was there. 🤷♂️
@@ShayHarambe nah in Europe only the Auto gets all the lane keep and distance Control stuff. Us Manual drivers got the short end of the stick, which is odd, bc the Yaris hast all that junk beeing both Auto and manual

You are comparing a GR86 with a Supra. Why?
You should be saying how much car you get for $35,800
Okay the 2024 WRX. The 2024 wrx has wireless CarPlay…. Better? 😂😂😂
this guy when he discovers cost saving :

Uhh what?
1. The supra is almost 2x the price. Of course it will have led bulbs. Also, bulbs are like $10.
2. Its a sports car, not a luxury car. Plugging in your phone isn’t hard. Get a dongle if it means that much.
3. Are you really complaining about closing your trunk??
4. Again… its a sports car and you’re complaining about cup holders…. Jesus christ.
5. Not a luxury car. Get a Mercedes if you want a bose sound system.
“Like bro it’s a 2024….” And? Toyota made the cheap sports car we all wanted.
1. A Honda civic has LED lights and it’s half the price.
2. Just cause it’s a sports cause doesn’t mean it doesn’t have apple car play. A Q60 for the same price has apple car play.
3. Well duh. Unnecessary hand prints.
4. Well yea? They are in the way? 🤦♂️
5. It came with JBL’s. A big name brand. 😂🤡
Bro I can give two shits what the light bulbs are. As long as I can see that’s all that matters
I was gonna buy a 370z nismo but i really want a trueno gr86
In my experience I liked the 370z more. If you look at my videos I ust to have a 370z.
Complaining about having to touch the trunk to close it is insane.

What, didn’t know all of this when buying it? Again big price difference compared to you 21 Supra. Why in the heck did you get one of this? All you say about this car is complaint!
The topic of the video was my complaints. 🤦♂️ it’s literally the title.

Just tie a bag of potatoes the trunk to close it
😂 that would work
Almost bought - but went with the 2022 veloster N . Way better performance package & more . Major downgrade in so many other ways.
I’ve heard the veloster N is really nice and has lots of potential.
@ShayHarambe absolutely 💯 ! So sad they stopped production for the ugly elantra expansion. But love how rare it is to see velosters on the street
@@Zengem620 they sound pretty good too. I talked to a dude a few months back. He had a full exhaust.
@ShayHarambe yes , it's customizable as well ! Super fun to play with !
As if the same engine sounds better in muscle car than it does in truck, 0 IQ take
😂 how does this dumb comment relate to anything?
@@ShayHarambe 99% of truck V8's is the same as V8 in mustang, corvette etc. You said "it just doesn't sound good" So would that LS/LT sound better in Corvette that it does in Silverado?
Yea cause of the exhaust set ups they do. Idk what they do between the mufflers and cats and all that but it sounds horrible. Put a decent sounding muffler on it. All these trucks drive around with what sounds like open headers.
These cars are for posers who wanna look like they drive a fast car. They are fun to drive. It's always fun to drive a slow car fast but it gets old real quick. For the money they need to stick a turbo or supercharger on it then it would be something.
Or for someone who has a fast car that needs a daily 🤷♂️😂
its a 30k car ur expecting too much
😂 base model Nissan Altima $27,000 has wireless CarPlay and leds 🤷♂️
Base model Honda civic hatch has wireless CarPlay with leds and that’s $24,995 🤷♂️

Incandescent. Halogen would be too high a heat source in those spots. There is an extra cost LED option for the Subaru. There is no solurtion for the cupholder situation. There's no space. You've purchased a car built to a price. I have a feeling that the $30K mark was a hard cap.
It’s wild that even LEDs are too pricy. You can buy them for like $5.
@@ShayHarambe It was more likely using something off the shelf to avoid development costs. Or an existing contract for incandescent bulbs with a supplier.
