Also the passives you get are practically useless. CD reduction doesn't matter when fights are started and ended in seconds, and you don't see another fight until after all your CDs would naturally have refreshed.
Just like the jump he does after a sprint, it seems like meleeing after a jump maintains horizontal momentum. A nifty piece of tech that he seems to have worked out.

It's not. He's just punching the air to flex, it has no mechanical benefit, it's just for fun. Same as he does later with blades.
