So sad this ride was taken down, because this looks to be hands down the best Arrow Dynamics suspended coaster ever made! Like, that swinging......HOLY CRAP MAN! That swinging is just intense as can be! That just looks insane. I have heard that this ride has ranked very very highly on a lot of lists from enthusiasts, including the Mitch Hawker Steel Coaster polls, I think in the top 10 at least. But yeah, Arrow Dynamics made a fantastic suspended coaster, but sad to see it go :(

The reason Eagle's Fortress closed is because its hillside location made it very difficult and time consuming for maintenance crews to work on the track. The intensity of the ride also put significantly more stress on the track and supports, which greatly affected the ride's service life. Additionally, when Arrow Dynamics went out of business in 2002, parts for the suspended coasters became much more expensive and difficult to find. The same thing happened to Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, which closed the same year Eagle's Fortress closed.
@@chorokee This could have easily competed with X2 easily, but X2 is definitely on another level.
@@andrewschannel4259 Yeah I can see how much stress the trains would have put on the structure also the train's shock absorbers, much more than the other Arrow Dynamics suspended coasters. Even if this ride didn't go, we know that S&S would have like to have kept this ride operational, since they own all the rest of Arrow's assets now. So it's thanks to them that we can still ride the remaining Arrow suspended coasters :)

It's really a shame that we lost this one to the sands of time. Looks like it was actually one of the all time greatest for Arrow.

Was my first roller coaster, back in 2002. Haven't been on any since, Once youv'e had the best, forget about the rest.

It was a Arrow Suspended coaster. Once Arrow Dynamics went out of businesses in the early 2000s, spare parts were much harder to come by. This made Eagle Fortress too expensive and difficult to maintain. As such it closed in 2009.
94년도에 생전 처음 탔던 롤러코스터 독수리요새.
그땐 잘 몰랐지만 서스펜디드방식은 국내최초였다. 현재 국내에 서스펜디드방식이 있는지는 모르겠지만.
국내최초 우든코스터인 티익스프레스도 굉장하다.

Went to Everland last weekend. Eagle's Fortress has been removed and they are now constructing a new hotel in it's former place.
This sums up EVERY swinging coaster I've built in roller coaster tycoon
Suspended Swinging Coaster 1 looks to intense for me.
Just looking at Suspended Coaster 1 makes me feel sick.
I'm not going on Suspended Swinging Coaster 1 while it's raining!
This looks like an absolutely amazing ride. I really wish they would build these again!

Best arrow suspended out there! At one point it swings at least 100 degrees reminds me of rct3 I made it swing 360 degrees over the track before!

This ride looks like the greatest arrow coaster to ever exist. I’ve ridden the bat at kings island but this looks like that plus all other suspended coasters on steroids.

i wish i could have ridden this. i'm grateful to have vortex at canada's wonderland which is arguably the greatest suspended left (and is admittedly quite insane at night time), but this looks CRAZY!
I rode both Big Bad Wolf and the replacement (called Verboten) and Big Bad Wolf was much better...
Sean Patterson, You're right, Verboten is much more of a family coaster than a thrill ride like Big Bad Wolf.

Suspended coasters are the best. I've said over and over again, The Big Bad Wolf was my favorite ride ever.
I didn't get a chance to ride the big bad wolf coasterrrrrrrrrrrrrr, but I've seen the replacement and it looks pretty coool :)
I have a special place in my heart for suspended swinging coasters lol coz I used to go on Vampire at Chessington (UK) every halloween

Yongsan Everland. This ride is currently shut down due to a total of two deaths.
If they kept this everland would have the best Top 2 of all time, t express and, you know, one of the greatest coasters ever built

Big Bad Wolf was pretty much a US version of this coaster.
This is in Korea (i think Yongsan someplace) but they do have suspended coasters all over the damn place. You should visit Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. They have every version of roller coaster ( i think they have 17 now).
Not necessarily, I saw the track still there, with my own two freaking eyes!!! It just might open again! I live with that hope:)
@treasurehunter911 - Having ridden both many times (actually within 3 weeks of each other in 2007), Eagle's Fortress is (was) a far more intense coaster than Raptor. And yes, Raptor is a great coaster. But, for pretty much every person who has ridden both, there is NO question that Eagle's Fortress is a FAR SUPERIOR coaster.

@treasurehunter911 - I think for a suspended coaster, and at the time this was built, this looks to be amazing. Of course Raptor is better in many aspects, and is one of my favorite rides, but it came much after and was built by a completely different company, which doesn't reside in America my friend. Bolliger and Mabillard are housed in Switzerland I believe. Arrow Dynamics was in Utah. Raptor is amazing, and I am sure this one is too!

Reminds me of the Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens with those swing out cars. Someone said Big Bad Wolf is gone now, is this true? ...i hope not! I rode it in ' 99 & loved it.

Someone else told me the reason why they removed Big Bad Wolf, 'cuz it was very expensive to keep up & rode rough.

A lot like Ninja (Magic Mountain), one of my alltime favorites!
This reminds me a lot of the design The Bat had at Kings Island. Seems like Arrow took a lot from that coaster for this one.
It's probably cuz Everland runs a test ride every few months or something. Some ppl who go to everland to ride the t-express go back sad cuz the ride is shut down due to test rides! And it stops if there's even a bit of wind. I think Everland is being more careful about stuff like that cuz there was another accident there which killed one person. It crushed the person. right in front of her family's eyes. She was trying to get out of the ride, but the employee didn't see so he runed the ride.

Is normally not allowed to take cameras onto roller coasters. You need the parks permission to do that.

When you were filming the people behind you, the expression on that guys face directly behind you was one of someone that couldn't care less that he was on a coaster! He looked bored as hell.... I feel bad for his wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend...
theres nothing like riding a roller coaster and getting hit in the face with alot of tree branches
