So it's been a couple of months, give or take. Any idea when part 2 is being published?

Stirs the blood - can you still get Conti exhausts? Bring out that glorious sound.

Good review.. Would be great to see a super street bike shoot out i.e. Super Duke VS Tuono VS Monster

I really wish the effort that was put into the Monster, was put into the Streetfighter 848....

I suppose that means they won't be doing streetfighters like the 848 & 1098 with the 899 & 1299 then?

Looking forward to next years models from Ducati! Hoping for a new SF, as i don't like the look on the monster that much. So hoping for a streetfighter version of the 1299, like they did with the 1098Streetfighter!!! :D

Cool review, But there is no way I would pay 15k for that. Used 1 year old 899 is only 11k

+Sam H Those are essentially two very different bikes to compare obviously. And the 1200 R gives you the full Öhlins package and the Marchesini wheels, which the 899 don't, so the price tag I think is good. A bit disappointing that it lacks the DQS. DQ and GP-shift is a must for me. However the 899 is just so perfect both for the street and the track so in terms of bang for the buck, the 899 is a really good option.

Sam H lol 1200R is up there with the 1299 models. The 899 is mid range like monster 821

BMW and KTM aswell Yamaha are faster and better. the problem: ducati should've leave streetfighter, update it with technology and new panigale frame. the biggest turn off on streetfighter are missing abs and catastrophic foot pegs. this bike won't sell as good as s1000r or Super Duke.

at that price not to have cornering abs and quick/blip quick up and down is pure bullshit and make it non competitive with the other bikes in this class at this price point.
