Oh good, for all of us hoaders who can't even throw out old eyeshadow; This is a great way to give us the gimmer we have desired to put on paper. hehe Thanks for sharing linda in tx
Thank You Thank you!!!!!! This is so cool!!! I had to stop wearing makeup years ago cause of allergies!!! I used some it on stuffed bunnies once but I have kept it all of this time wanting to use it & now I have a way to do just that ! I hate throwing things out!! I re~purpose when I can! Thanx again For showing how this works the paper was beautiful when you were done! Have a great day ~~~Tessa~~~
Makeup gets old after 3 months your supposed to stop using it. I have like 10 years worth of makeup. Thank you for this tip. You have saved me hundreds of dollars in paints and shimmers and made what I have considered a necessary waste of money in my daily rituals because I always have like half to two thirds left of eye shadow left. Now I cannot feel guilty every time I empty my make up kit. I can buy eye shadow with a clear conscience. Thank you.
WOW!! Thanks sooooo much for this tutorial!!!! I have a lot of eyshadow colors that I do not use and I am going to try this! I might even raid my daughter's makeup case! LOL!!!
Love this, just found your b fro, umm 8 years later, lol. I do pretty much the same thing but different mix. I don't have any gum Arabic around, so I used just a wee bit of good old white Elmers glue and water, eyeshadow, top off with a smidge of alcohol to get everything to disperse when I shake shake shake. Yours looks better, going to try your recipe! Thank you
I used the L.A. eyeshadows, some water and aussie hair spray I have, it smells pretty:) I did get my bottles at joanne's the larger ones from other places, the sprayers don't work, and they clog easy. So I suggest they buy them from the craft stores, they aren't alot. $1.00 each. Thank you for the inspiration to try this!
Hello, I haven't tried another type of glue but if you do and it works, please let me know. Also you can store your glimmer mist in a jar. I use a spray bottle because I like the way it gets applied to my projects that way.
Hey there!!!!! I so enjoy your videos & thanks for taking your time to share all your lovely ideas and projects with us !!!! In making your own Glimmer-mists at home.....do you know if I can substitute the"Liquid-based Gum Arabic" for the powdered version, please? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ! Have a Super Day from Shelley in FL :)
At first I was startled when you said you got your gum arabic in Iraq, but then I remembered that gum arabic is grown and harvested in the Middle East! I looked it up and found this: "While gum arabic is now produced mostly throughout the African Sahel, it is still harvested and used in the Middle East. For example, Arab populations use the natural gum to make a chilled, sweetened, and flavored gelato-like dessert."
very cool. i just use metallic acrylic paint and water. but i do have tons of eye shadow. do you think just the shadow and water would just work? or adding modge podge afterwards work? tfs
Thnx for the video =] ..love the idea nd if I'm using hairspray, should i spray on it after i spray the water thingy? or should it be mixed with the water and sprayed together? thank u =]

@stephanoid69 Hey, you could also use elmers glue instead of the gum arabic. You may also just spray hair spray on it after you mist and dry. Hugs

Ive seen several tutorials were they use Elmer glue or craft glue. Also they sub alcohol for water because it drys faster.
You are awesome:)
These spray bottles are from joanns.com but there are other online stores that carry them. I have also seen then in the Tim Holts section of Michaels.
AWSOME!!!!!!...lol
Unfortunately, the blower does not focus the air the way a heat tool does. I would recommend a heat tool. TFW.
@PoconoPam I have some old ones too I am gonna put them to use. LOL. Hugs

Hello, I am not sure how safe actual alcohol would be for your pictures. I would say give it a shot. Let me know how it works. Thanks for watching.
