Damn you forgot the 3 lamb sacrifices to the ///M gods - At least a day before you need to launch 🤣

These steps are broken down into what exactly needs to be turned on or off. Once the switches are done inside an M1 or M2 button on the steering wheel, it becomes a one button push. Bmw of Ridgefield is telling us exactly what needs to be done in order to make launch control work, not everything you need to do immediately before using it.

How ridiculously complicated? How about full braking, press a button that says launch control (automatically configures everything), floor the throttle, release the brake? Even better if the brake is fully depressed at any time and in any mode and the throttle is then fully depressed launch control is immediately active temporarily re-configuring all the required settings, you then just release the brake?

Lol in a 328i all u do is put it in sport plus, hold the brake, and mat it. Ik it's a different series but still.

You can put all the settings and save in the M1 or M2 button. So if you want to do the launch control just push the button M1 or M2, put the gear on manual mode, floor the throttle and release the brake

I own a 2016 BMW 550i M Sport and all I have to do is Select Sport + on the driving mode, Foot on the brake, Gear selector in Shift mode and press the go pedal to the floor until you feel the button depress, and release the brake....she comes out like a scalded dog, squeals the tires when she hits 2nd gear and sometimes chirps 3rd gear...0 to 60 is damn fast and she gets to the electronically limited 155 mph pretty quickly too.

I have a 428i coupe. All I have to do is put it in sport +, shift it to s1, and then when I firmly press the break with my left foot and press the accelerator with my right, without even flooring it it says launch control with the checkered flags on my dash. It does this without having to press down the accelerator all the way. I don't know what difference it makes.

What does it mean when you’re on first gear holding the break down and when you press the throttle it doesn’t want to rev past 1RPM?

For non M cars, all you have to do is put it in Sport + (where DSC is limited) and push the brake all the way down and push down the gas until you hit the kick down. Then release and enjoy! 😁

  • @ronniejanuszki
    @ronniejanuszki 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    This takes, what? A second?
Flip your lever over, press the Sport+ button, brake and accelerate hard, let go.
If you have trouble following four subsequent directions I apologize.

Right? Half the comments are "this is way too complicated".
I'm sitting here thinking if this is too hard to follow, you shouldn't be launching a BMW, even a Tonka Truck might be out of your league.

Wow all the little boys whining it’s to complicated !
I guess walking and chewing gum is a challenge as well.
BMW has done this intentionally as this is DANGEROUS and discouraged. Now for those who have skills this is an instantaneous action no effect.
This video makes it look hard when I had my M5 the F2 button was already programmed so I just hit the brake gas and push the shifter forward and go. Just that easy.

Just got my rear end kicked by a Tesla because of how ridiculously difficult this is. Can't wait to sell my M2! My WRX had no issues with this. It was as simple as pushing in the clutch, putting the car in first, slamming the gas(which would limit it by cobb tuning set RPM) and driving off. By the time I pulled up to the stop light I was only half way through this process when the light turned green. At which point I just floored it in Sport+ and got my rear end kicked. This is pathetic. Can't believe I spent over $80k on my M2, added the Dinan P1 power package and still got embarrassed. Done with BMW for good!
