Enjoyed your video! My Grandpa had a Massey Harris 44. He farmed near a little town in central PA called St. Thomas. I was interested particularly when you mentioned that your grandfather passed away on this tractor. My grandfather passed away on his, too. 75 years old, raising Angus, hogs, and chickens-farming about 80 acres. He loved that tractor, no doubt because for a good part of his life he farmed (dairy) with horses-he was born in 1886. It was fun watching your Dad!

Your dad really knows his stuff. And you are a wonderful camera man. Great angles. Brings back fond memories of Masseys on the farm. Thank you.

I have a 1949 Massey Harris 30 Standard. My Grandpa also bought it brand new. Been in the family since. My dad and I restored it and it runs great.

Thanks for the awesome video. MH 30 was the first tractor I learned to drive back in the late 60's. Ours had the throttle on the steering column, different than yours, not sure why. Most 30 models have the throttle lever between the operator's legs. Nice to see yours still has a nice PTO shield and grill screen, ours did too. But we didn't have the belt pulley. I put on a lot of hours sickle mowing and raking and hauling ear corn to the corn crib at picking time. Loved the sound of the gears in the transmission, that sound comes across nicely in your video. We no longer have the 30 but still have the 44 that dad got new in '49. My compliments to your dad's good job of plowing and to the dog for not getting run over. Blessings!

Thank you for watching the video, like I said in the video it has been a great tractor and yes that whining sound from the transmission really sounds good. Dad always rode with me as a youngster and taught me appropriate throttle position for each gear and speed shifting! Trying to set the brake on with one foot has always been a challenge. Thanks for the nice comments and keep watching.

Right up my alley, aunt/uncle had used MH 30, cut my teeth helping on their dairy farm driving their tractors. My mom/dad became gentlemen farmers in later years, had a used MH 33 as a first tractor. Those ole iron tractors from the 50's-60's, don't make them like that anymore. 'Thanks 4 the ride down memory lane Mike. 👍👏😊

Learned to drive on our Massey Harris 30. One of my jobs was cultivating corn with it. Still remember it's smell!

You've got that plow adjusted perfectly!! Running level and straight. I'm amazed how many guys can't set them right. Yay!!!

Brought back great memories of driving the MH 30 in '54 high school years and again injecting anhydrous in '60 for a college job. Very impressed with the MH 30.
Can't beat that JD plow for turning the ground over either.
    Thanks for the video.

Great to see someone use a plow the way it is supposed to be used - all properly adjusted and so forth. (I have seen some other videos where I get the impression the person driving the tractor has never done much plowing and isn't doing a very good job.) Reminds me of my dad, right down to the similar looking dog running along and barking. Except my dad would have probably been driving a John Deere tractor.

Great video. I like seeing those old tractors still being put to work. They’re not just for parades. In our area the 44 model was very popular.

Great video! I have a similar story. My wife’s grandpa (Charlie Gorecki) had a 1948 Farmall C that they bought brand new from Tessamers in Daggett when he was in his early 20’s. Only tractor they ever bought brand new, and the only one he kept when they sold the farm. I restored it back in ‘12 and still use it to skid logs and disc food plots.

Good to see a tractor and plough working as it should.... we had a 30 and a massey 2 furrow plough up until the early 60's. My uncle and father farmed 320 acres with that outfit with a TO20 Ferguson as a backup. Clay ground and rolling. Not sure how they did it but the work was always done before the first snow.

That Border Collie sure loves your Dad! Dad has still got the rhythm for running a clutch lift plow, good old JD plows. Maybe you should do a Q & A with your Dad, I'll bet he can tell some real good stories about you boys and the Veeser boys!

We had the massacres 44 Massey Harris special mass Harris, 44444 was a hard steering tractor good tractor use it for years, but the power shaft is too high. The hydraulic pump on the side was a Webster pub hard to find if you ever needed to get another pump, it needs a larger hydraulic pump.

Correct me if I'm wrong please but either it isn't a 53 model year or it isn't a 30, I just bought a 30 this spring and in my research the 30s ended in 52

It looks like Your plowing at a decent depth with that ROPE TRIP plow. The Dog is looking to get run over as He/She is dangerously close to the outfit.
