I see that for installing the ring you basically whack it with a dead blow hammer... can a press be used instead?.. use a few bolts as guides... then rest the ring on wooden blocks and then press down the zip locker from the top into the ring?.. I have seen this done and recommended on other videos, Thanks!
the video was produced in 2015 - prior to many of the zip locker cases being welded. the welding was done as a solution to bolt stretch caused by lack of carrier bearing preload - often caused by installers not using housing spreaders.
Man you guys need to come out with something newer than 7 years ago lol, not very many videos for the zip, but too many for arb, it may help sells? Take care if you even monitor this site
Thanks for the feedback Mark, let’s see if we can get this updated :). Be sure to check our playlist under Team Yukon or Yukon Nation, that is new and being updated with our network of distributors, dealers and people who bleed purple that run our parts.
correct, in most applications, the zip locker is shimmed externally. for application specific instructions you can download the instructions directly from our site - www.randysworldwide.com/web_images/pages/Install%20Manuals/2013-Zip-Locker-Installation-Manual.pdf

Instructions say no shim is to be put under the bearing? Is that true on the d44?
Is this a d60 install
