Issue I've run into is if you have your extension cord run out of bottom instead of out the back like you did, there is a gap for the cable on the bottom of the light unit case itself but the mounting bracket has a bump out that blocks that gap. WTH. I'm having to use a drummel to carve out that bump to make room for the outgoing cables...................or for $20 more you can buy a plug in version of the mount but you'll still have to wire it to the mount.
@@troyda7515I have worked with professionals. I have never seen them add extensions on wires and use tape to cover wire wraps. The extension cord should have been pulled through the hole and use wire nuts to secure it directly to the light assembly. But that is what breakers are for, right?
@@MytwistedvoicesI agree with you on this part. The extension cable wires was more than sufficient to go straight to the cameras wires. No need to rig it up with a middle extension. He may had a problem getting that cord through the hole he drilled. That’s my guess.
The ring flood light cam is on sale for $109.00. I just bought one Nov 2024. Thank you for the video!
Great minds think alike 😂 was wondering if someone else did the same.
Master electricians are hating on me in the comments, but this has been working for 4 years with no issues.
I bought a eufy floodlight cam for backyard was thinking of doing something like this. Just plug into outlet. Is it working ok like this?
Can I use any extension cord with 3 prong ?

What gauge wire is that extension cord? Thanks
How many amps is that extension cord?
Did you use a outdoor extension cord?
Yes.
Use wire nuts/caps instead due to fire hazard. you should have invested on a brand new outdoor extension cord as well.
Can you not just plug it right into the extension cord?
What a scary Install, Don't do this. Really bad idea. I'd have been ashamed you recorded it.
explain.....
You wouldn't get one because if it's wired properly and wires aren't touching there wouldn't be any explanation
