    Thank you for sharing this video. Question: Can the well Liner be installed and install the top later?

      The well liner staples to the rear tack strip first, then the window and then the top. To replace the well liner you will need to pull all the staples, install the liner and then staple the window and top back on. You can replace the top and window later and leave the line in place. I hope that makes sense.

      @@riderescue Yes it does. Thank You. Does the leading edge of the well liner, opposite of the tack strips, attach to the back of the rear seat?

      @@smithjo4152 The back seat support is just below the top of the seat. You can see where the well liner glues (spray mount) to the top and face of that panel when you remove the seat. My Skylark had a trim piece that covered the top of that panel and it had a slot to attached the convertible top boot.

    Your car is a beauty and I appreciate the work you have done on it. I have a question though that I can't find an answer to anywhere. I'm putting a new top on 62 Skylark that I purchased without a top and I need to know the critical measurement for the rear bow height. I'm sure you know that measurement and would really appreciate it if you could pass that on to me. Thank you.

      Thanks for the kind words. Sorry, I don't have that measurement though. Try posting on this facebook group. Someone there will likely have that for you. Good luck. 1961-1963 Buick Special/Skylark

    You sir are a very talented guy. Those tops are so finicky and hard to get right. I love the interior. Well done, looks fantastic!

    How do you take off the dash kit

    • @riderescue
      @riderescue  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's been a while but if I remember correctly the padded dash has nuts on the backside all around the back edge. Once that is off, the other fasteners will be exposed.

    Beautiful Buick, noticed the remote control outside mirrors on left and right, could you tell me what car they are from please? Looking for right remote mirror for “66 GTO convertible I am restoring - thank you, beautiful work!

      Both mirrors are 1964 Buick left sides. They can be disassembled and reversed to work on the right side. It's not the best angle for viewing the right side but it does work and looks fantastic.

      @bmacwhi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have a source for new mirrors or any used stock that you may sell for rechroming? This would work well on my ‘66 GTO convertible as I can’t find matching passenger mirror - your videos are great

      @riderescue  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bmacwhi These mirrors are getting hard to find. I watched eBay for years to get a good set that could be rechromed. There are 2 sizes and the bigger ones are on the full size GM cars and they won't work on the A bodies.

      Good luck with your Skylark project. I love all those GM A body's. Check out my convertible top build series for the 69 Camaro. Very similar steps for putting on the top and adjusting the frame. th-cam.com/video/VMjB-D6Itno/w-d-xo.html
