Nice fly, I liked it better with the fire orange thread as the head. The gold covered it all up. I guess it is just a matter of taste, and of course staying true to the pattern. I will tie it but I doubt I will use the gold. Thanks for your wisdom and experience. It has taught me to not stop tying a pattern until I can make them consistently looking the same or very close. Davie I have a question about this pattern. Why is it called a " Lure," and not as a Cormorant? It looks like a Cormorant why isn't it? This just seems odd to me. In my mind it is a Commorant.
Hi Kerry, It's classed more as a mini lure which can give the impression of a small fish which can be pulled like the larger lures...Cormorants are quite new on the scene and are tyed a bit lighter and more to represent midge though they can also give the impression of a small fish.. Hi Davie, beautiful fly. I have just tied a variation of this fly using Hulk body Fritz from flybox in chartreuse colour. I have also used a white wing but I also tie in black too. Have you used Flybox hulk fritz? I can highly recommend it for these type of lures. Thanks, Owen.

Hi Jay, Unfortunately the fly tying company Tiewell stopped doing this flash many years ago it was called Reflections Gold-Red Rainbow though all you have to do is buy a blue and gold metallic Krystal flash and a flat red flash and you'll have the same mix so it's not really a problem as this is how the flash is made up..
