That was the best explanation and demonstration of isolated platform preparation I have ever seen.
    Thank you,
    Jeff

Yes, definitely the absolute best! Platform's obviously are critical to effective knapping, and this guy makes it much easier to understand.

I think "isolated platforms" has been one of the more difficult things to both understand, and to find good guidance on. NOW... I get it. Once again, thank you for taking the time.

This is the best lesson I've seen so far on platforms and HOW to properly isolste. I can't tell you how much these 3 videos have helped. I'll be rewatching several times.

Glad you liked them. Flintknapping is all about platforms, understanding them is the key to success. Happy knapping!

I agree with the other comments in that this is a great video on platfoms, the best that I have seen. I'm new to knapping and used to cringe when I heard the word "platform". Thanks to your video I feel confident enough to tackle them. Thanks so much for posting this video!

@animeonperseest The biface is a transition to making an actualy flint knife or projectile point. The finished point would then be lashed to a handle or spear or used as is....jim

Wow. That indirect striking makes way more sense then just grabbing a rock and smacking another lol. Very informative

So do you tie that to the end of a wooden stick and go hunting for deer? I'm not sure I understand what exactly is that thing.

It’s clearly a hand axe. They jumped out of trees onto the backs of mammoths and dinosaurs, and killed them with one good hit to the brain pan.
