You actually had better separation on your forehand when you were younger, versus now. You also hit with a straight arm forehand whereas now you seem to hit with a bent arm forehand most of the time. I don't really think it matters whether you hit with a straight arm or a bent arm on your forehand but you seem to get caught a little tight to your body on your forehand on the pro tour. Not saying anything is wrong with your current technique but I do think you would benefit from working on getting better separation from the body on your forehand and hitting more out in front, like when you did when were younger. Just my two cents. Keep grinding!

Also, you seem to have kept the ball on your strings longer when you were younger. Now I think you tend to rush your finish a bit when it’s not necessarily required but likely you’re doing it because of the pace of ball that you’re receiving and you feel the need to use your upper forearm to complete your forehand stroke. I wonder whether you would benefit from keeping the ball on the strings a little bit longer a la Federer.

I'm going the opposite way but love those rackets including RF01. A huge fan from Japan.

The old advice was to use the heaviest racquet you are comfortable swinging. I think going forward the advice should be to use the most powerful spin monster you can still control well. At the top of the game the margins are too slim to handicap yourself with old school frames. I would suggest going one step futher and switch to a 100 inch racquet with more power and spin, in the extreme, pure aero or ripstick lines. Let's face it, you arn't blessed with Alcaraz level talent so you need to move all factors into your favour. If you do that I reckon you could finish your career with a few 250 and 500 titles under your belt and most likely a stint in the top 100 that surpasses your hero Fred Gil.

I still keep my RF for doubles. Nobody on earth can hit through an RF97 at the net haha. Using the regular 97 with lead at 12 for singles. Good luck with the Extreme!
