a simple pointcloud/particle and chromatic aberration tutorial.
**NOTE**
In the tutorial I plug the rgba delay (in the loop) into the second input of the add TOP. Don’t do that, plug it into the first. Because of how TD handles resolutions etc, this seemingly minor mistake will cause the project to have a minor panic attack on re-launch.

I was compelled to make this after seeing this short:
• Making A Chromatic Abe...
@Acerola_tAcerola's YT channel is also mandatory reading for this class - it will be on the test.

the "if you respect yourself, you can set horizontal resolution" kills me 🤣 so relatable
ahahah this one got me too
Love how you highlight the moments when it would be great to just go nuts and be creative!
Thanks for this tutorial you give me inspiration to start using this program again after getting distracted with life!
best channel for tutorials, still everything for free!!💙
This is a truly masterpiece ✨
And you may be the first one to make "The dancing lights", because I was looking for this some time ago and didn't find anything. I'm glad that you also came up with that idea and shared it, so everyone can see and learn from your tutorial. May TH-cam algorithm bless you 🙏🏻
Amazing work... as always. Thank you so much!!! From Italy :D
Thank you for your generous output, some of the best and most beautiful tutorials! HBO should pick this up as a show!
I’ll give them a call
Hahah I say Viaplay

Holy smokes this is so beautful !!!
Awesome as always
incredible videos btw!
Super cool . This can be interesting to set up body moments interaction with cam or Kinect
same :(
thats wow, what a great day
lovely
Really beautiful! Does this technique require the latest version of TD?
Only at the very end with the bloom top, but you can get 98% without it
hola se le puede agregar música para que siga el ritmo? Muchas Gracias
Would it be possible to add color to the geo1?
thank you, awesome tutorial, i just have one problem, i saved and when opened it again there was some weird movement like if it is changing resolution automatically in a flashing frequency, what this might be?
Oh yeah, read the description lol. I know the freak out..
Hello Simon, I want to subscribe to your patreon but I have the TD 2021 version 16960 and I wanted to know if your files are compatible with this version. Thank you so much
Hello!
I can't promise that, I try to make all files available for 2022 and above. so there might be some compatibility issues.
@@supermarketsallad ok, thanks
I was trying to replicate, but i had an issue when i put the RGB in the instance, does not shot in my geo =(
Did you solve that issue ?
when i added levels (before start and end null) only the one forth of the cube is showing, why is it happening??
2:02 I dont have a "Box" shape on my version of TD (2022.29530), can I use a cube shape?
You can use whatever your heart desires there, it doesn’t matter that much. But cube is probably the same-ish
@@supermarketsallad wait I dont even have a "Transform" options in pointGenerator, is it my version or I can fix this somehow?
@blueplastic2002 you can just drop a point-transform top after and do it in there instead.
I'm having trouble when I try and send the the Null Geo to instancing in the Geometry, when I change translate x,y,z to rgb it doesn't result in any cube forming in my Geometry, everything else works until the point
any help appreciated as this is a great tutorial, i'm just a beginner
I'm facing the same issue. pos instancing to geo doesn't do anything for me. Can someone help with this?
Actually just fixed it. Make sure you've activated add points on the 'add1' SOP and have set convert to 'Particles per point on the convert SOP. This fixed it for me.
@okayashwin hello!
I encountered this problem with one of my Patreons. He sent the file over to me, and it worked fine. I actually have no idea what is causing this.
But I have a suboptimal fix, for now, instead of using add-convert-geo, use a box sop-geo (and in the uniform scale in the box SOP set it to 0.002)
I need to research, but it’s a quick fix
@@okayashwin Thanks for the update! I encountered the same issue and your comment helped :)
2:21 What should I do to make the dots gray?
At 2:21 we haven’t yet rendered the points.
Follow the tutorial until at least 5 minutes, and then you can make color changes in the material
@@supermarketsallad I get a square of colored noise, and you get white. Is this how it should be?
@user-rp3cf5wf2f yes, that’s what it is at this point. If you want to view it as points.
Make the viewer of the top active (bottom right corner) and then right click the image, and select “view as points” (or just press v on your keyboard)
@@supermarketsallad thank you, that's exactly what I couldn't understand
Thank you for asking this i had the same issue :)
I've got a Point generator with differents parameters...
decreasing the alpha doesn't work for me :( everything else works, any suggestions?
don't really understand what you mean by that, but most likely you forgot to toggle the "blending" under the common tab in the constant MAT
what program is this...?😮
Touchdesigner.. Wow..complett new to me..thx
