“Aliens” Inspired AR56 “Smartgun” Range Short

- Here are a few snippets from my full range video of my Aliens inspired 3-gun run at CQB Brutality.
This was a very dumb, not at all practical approach to competition. And it was some of the most fun I’ve ever had at the range.

FYI the smart gun from the movie was an mg42 with motorcycle suspension and parts mounted to a steady camera mount

I debated going that route, but I ran a Daewoo DP51 (with white grips) to have something in the same general shape and size.

As they say, every meal is a banquet in the Corps.
Maybe using a hard mounted camera behind the sight feeding to a goggle set up like a night vision sight (maybe have the sight on rifle be able to be thermal /night compatible. ) have tge heads up monicle be wide on that side of the face so it gives a larger view of whats through the sight. While the othereye can maintain spacial awareness. Maybe incorporate a folding stock. Similar to the under folder on a ak. For auxilary in case of the mobility system having a critical malfunction?

Id think some sort of higher-power LAM like a PERST 3/4 or the like would work real well to improve reliability of hits.
I love the setup I wonder if it would support a ar 15 12gauge I feel like that would be fun as a shotgun with Like a rifle and another handgun run just to mess with everyone on the field
How ergonomical is it to aim like that?
It’s better than you’d expect, but definitely not ideal.
Where this would shine is at night with better visibility on the laser. But the bright conditions made me rely on my angled red dot more than I’d like. More accurate for sure, but less ergonomic.
So... what about running a wire that connects a heads up display to a digital camera on the gun tho?

im using this set up for my star wars mando cosplay and airsoft
Maybe foregrip handle off set to left and optic mounted top dead center. 🤔 more comfortable and ergofor shooter

forgive me i don't know much about guns. But this gun seem too smack those targets much harder. Is it a more powerfull bullet/gun ?

The point isn’t to control recoil. The point is to keep it steady and level during movement.

It’s a 5.56 AR, there isn’t any recoil lol. The only time I had any movement that was anything less than manageable was on the first handful of shots firing it at eye level. Then I adapted my grip and it was fine.

Gyroscopic arm cool concept but it's too bulky too easily caught on surrounding plant matter in the woods or even getting stuck on walls in tight spaces

How does this rig feel mitigating recoil? Especially in regards to fire and movement?
It’s a 5.56 AR, there isn’t much felt recoil to speak of. It’s a complete non issue in the rig.
@@booliganshootingsports So would you say that there is no change, positive or negative, in your groupings with the rig?
I never grouped it before and didn’t group it after lol. The goal was to get shots on torso sized targets. The thing wasn’t even zeroed, I just ran it and somehow didn’t place last 😂

Because it’s the best way I found to get accurate hits on target using the aiming system on this current version.

It’s not an easy answer. There was no base gun. Which is what’s covered in the other short video on it 😉
I'm pretty sure that at this point with yt yeeting longstanding accounts for simply being adjacent to this community, being a bit vague is somewhat necessary.

It’s fine on the wrist. It’s not the intended shooting angle but it worked fine in competition to make up for my aiming systems deficiencies in the lighting conditions.
