Nice review. Judging by prices online, it looks like good value for the cost. I can get round trip first class tickets JFK-LHR in December for $5.5k. That's comparable to business class ticket prices.
Thank you for watching and for your comment! That’s a good point. British does price this product fairly well to be reachable for purchase unlike other first cabins. If you couple that with the amount of miles earned from the paid first ticket, it becomes even better of a deal!
@@Connordamonvlogs wow that’s great to know! I haven’t looked into BA Holidays that much, but I’ve heard of great incentives especially for UK residents. I’ll have to check that out for next year. Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Thank you for watching and for your comment! That’s interesting, I know the 787-10 is a newer product, but I haven’t had too much experience with the 787-9. I was fortunate to try their first product on the 787-10 seat which will be coming out in a few videos. Is the 787-9 seat similar to the 787-10 seat?
@@AlaskaMileRun I've not been on a '10 yet but I would guess it would be much the same - the low-level lamp version, only in much better condition with everything in working order which seems NOT to be the case with all the '9's I've been on - last week on G-ZBKA the engineers were still fussing with stuff whilst boarding!! The woman in 2E was made to sit in Economy for take-off and landing as her seat wouldn't move into take-off and landing position. I chatted with a crew member and she said the whole situation with the state of the cabins was becoming really embarrassing for the crew. Outrageous considering the cost of the tickets ( Thank God for Avios, so we can upgrade without being fleeced ).
@@jonathanmiley9111 thank you for watching and for your comment! I should’ve looked it up before editing the video, but I haven’t really tried beef Wellington that much. That’s great to know moving forward as I wasn’t sure if they were cheapening out or if it was a great dish for First Class.
Thank you for watching and for your comment! I am still working on navigating filming these reviews while trying to be respectful of other people’s privacy so sometimes I try to be quick with the recording before a person walks into frame. Do you have specific place or sections that are fast moving with the camera?
One thing is for sure... there is no such thing as "AMAZING British Airways FIRST ". It can be good. But is not in the league with the amazing FC products out there.
@@GWJUK Absolutely. Price vs Experience. If you have ever flown the But, if one has flown an 'amazing' First Class, you know BA is not 'amazing'. Good value? sure. Amazing? Never.
Thank you for watching and for your comment! I agree that it probably doesn’t compare to Emirates first or the new first class products from Japan Airlines, ANA, or upcoming Qantas First product. I haven’t tried Emirates or the Japanese carriers yet, but I must say that Qatar Airway’s first product is always touted to be better than British Airways. After trying both, I must say British is significantly better even though Qatar has a nicer looking seat. In reality I felt the Qatar seat to be uncomfortable and not the best experience. Couple that with service and other amenities, and I think their first product still holds tremendous value. I’ve also seen mix reviews of Emirates product so sometimes I believe how a product looks and how a product functions can be vastly different. I have been fortunate to try Qatar Airways, Qantas, and American Airlines first class, and I believe British airways is significantly better than all those products. Comparing this to other first class products in Europe, I still think British provides a great experience. It’s also a lot more attainable via price deals or points redemption. However, I must agree that looking at the Japanese carriers new first class definitely shows a lot of improvement that British Airways can make. I did hear from one of the flight attendants that first cabins will be upgraded sometime next year so that’s exciting to see. Either way, it’s great discussion and thank you for your comment!
@@mikes2147 BA's first class is not amazing in terms of its configuration but it's very good for its price. Sometimes the BA first class just costs 2200 quids which is much cheaper than those on other airlines.

You can get a BA LHR>JFK Package Holiday for 5 nights for £3,200 in F quite easily!

The 'First' cabin / seats on the 797-9 are much better than the seats you had here.

Beef Wellington is considered a very upscale dish.
