My mother used to make bobbin lace! In fact, so did I... She taught for many years and was known internationally. Nice to see it being featured.

Loved this tutorial - my favorite! I had an "ah-ha" moment when I realized that I was totally getting it, the same way I felt when I understood an algebra problem in high school, lol! Your pace and the amount of info you included was just right. I wasn't bored once I "got" a new section, especially since you can really speed-lace ... boy, you really move! [just kidding - I really mean that you sped up the video at just the right points in the tutorial]. I haven't been able to find a teacher here, so am learning from books and you-tube. Yours are by far the most helpful, so thanks!

Hello, so glad you enjoyed my video and could follow along. I sadly never got that ah ha moment in algebra.. My brain just refuses to do math. Lol. If you would like to send me an email I could always send you a copy of this pattern so you can follow along. Just send me a note to tanyadrichards@yahoo.com if you'd like. Take care and thank you for watching!

People who don't like a chatty teacher can be rude and complain, or be self-aware and mute the tab while they're watching. The chat is comforting for new learners.

I've seen enough how-to crafting videos to know when someone is talking too much, which can be boring or annoying. I've never found you to be either. Your chatter is informative and /or entertaining and I'm absolutely fascinated with your craft. I've always wanted to see how this was done. I will probably never try it, but I could watch you for hours! It's very satisfying...

You are my go-to girl for understanding bolbbin lace. I love that you take the time to do an entire bookmark going from beginning to the end also you are one of the only videos that speak English. Please do more videos showing us how to do a small doily like you showed in one of your other videos. I enjoy how you explain what you are doing step by step. Plus I like your stories.💞👍

Okay, so on Facebook I saw a quick video of someone doing this. I had seen it before, while ago, but didn't research. An hour ago, I did not even know this was called "bobbin lace." I googled "lace making," discovered the name, and then to TH-cam. Yours was the first video I clicked (I liked the colors in the thumbnail)... I did skip around quite a bit, but you're telling me with a bit of practice I can make a lace bookmark in 1.5 hours? Omg. I knit and crochet, and I dabbled in shuttle tatting like once or twice. I like fast projects and less-than-even-remotely-common crafts.
Anyhoo, I'm writing a book, I loved this video, I'm totally enchanted with bobbin lace, AND I enjoy the amount you talk--you do not talk too much. So glad I found this. Brightened up my day. I'll be sure to check out more of your videos.

I´m going to start making bobbin lace or "knyppling", as we call it here in Finland ,again tomorrow. I began in my early teens, but that is a long time ago. Much easier now to restart my old hobby. I remember now half stitch, spiders, rose ground or "halv slag, spindel och rosengång, korsning och vridning".

Bobbins (a 4" version of the sewing machine bobbin) pairs each share one thread, and many pairs can create gorgeous patterns. As few as 6 to 10 pairs can create quite a lovely piece. Mom had a 4 pair baby lace edging that was airy yet baby safe.

I wanted you to know that I find your videos about bobbin lace great.
you put it all perfect together and it's all easy to follow for me.
by googling I found quite by accident on your video on youtube about bobbin lace.
I am Dutch, but understand English very well.
I like it when you tell in between about you and your family or other things in your life.
You have a nice voice to listen to, your way of explanation of bobbin lace gives me the feeling that anyone can do it easily.
I have two bookmarks created by you videos on my homemade pillow and bobbins. but I now feel bobbin lace is me new hobby and I will shortly buy a pillow and real bobbins, books and patterns.
thank you very much for your videos, I still follow you on youtube.

I recently started Tatting, which led me to Bobbin Lace on youtube, I am so taken by the process, I love the rhythm of it and have been doing my homework on where to buy supplies, which I plan on ordering next week.I intend to keep tatting but even though the lace looks complicated I think it will be easier once I learn the stitches and how to read patterns. I've watched and rewatched your videos and they have helped me a lot in understanding some of the basics. I love your explanations and you've only lost me a couple of times but I figure that will come w/practice. I'm also a wood turner and have begun making my own bobbins, which makes it all the more interesting to me. Please keep your videos coming.

I loved seeing a different way to dress the pillow, the different book mark start, and the different way to finish it. I also thought your rose ground description was very helpful. It was lovely to see the projects you’ve done and the kind of threads you’ve bought. Geraldine Stott happened to be my first teacher in a workshop setting. She started us out with “scotch bandages” to learn cloth stitch and half stitch. Give gimps another try with a less complicated pattern.

I appreciate this video, very calming. I washed this while knitting a pair of socks. I loved the tutorial. I like the chatter... it feels line you are talking to me in a personal way. Please don’t listen to the naysayers... they should just watch another video. Be you

This is actually the first video I looked at after the really first tutorials just teaching the stiches. I practiced the stiches and I actually think I may be able do this bookmark as my really first object. I do tat and a few other techniques but never tried bobbin lace. I think that its a wonderful beginners video!

As a complete beginner your tutorials were great, I did spot that you got the pin wrong twice, and you needed to take the pins out and make sure the tread was above the pin and so I followed it very well. Thank you. 👌🏻
