I learned a lot doing my first winter hikes this past year. I still need to find a way to keep my legs warm when I stop for along time. Maybe some slip on down pants or a small blanket.

It's funny how different everyone is - I have zero issues with legs and feet, all of my struggles are in my hands and always have been! :D

Caps, an important question, Is it true what they say? You lose whatever made up percentage of body heat through your head?

Correct, the most accurate number have at hand based on decades of research is that you loose 143% of your body heat via your head.
