I'm gonna be honest, I always just thought you were a guy who owned a company that made badass knives. And I respected that. However, now that I have seen you collection and your true love of the edged weapon and appreciate the attention to detail and artistry of the old school Japanese swordsmiths, I have a whole new respect for Tony Marfione. And to watch you put that wrap on yourself... I'm totally impressed yo.

Truly a man that loves and takes pride in his craft, this absolutely shows in his business and why I continue to contribute my hard earned money on his products! I would imagine this culture trickles down through all of the Microtech employees. Well done sir! Fun to watch you work and interesting to listen to the knowledge you have gained through your life! Thank you for sharing, seriously thank you 🙏

I new this man was a student of martial history and blade craft but to see your appreciation for the tradition and the skilled way you apply your technique.........well it's inspiring to say the least. BTW I have bought 2 Microtech's in the last two weeks. A Merlot D/E serrated ultratech and a blue stonewashed LUDT combo edge. Next a Combat troodon is on the list. Who knows after that.....they are great tools and I appreciate the pedigree/company. Thank's for your craft and dedication Mr. Marfione. Thank's for sharing.

Oh sweet I didn't know Tony was into nihonto. I'm also a Hizen Tadayoshi collector. Collecting swords is what got me into kendo as well as into collecting knives.

Wow. That was pleasantly informative. I don’t know anything about these pieces but you are clearly a very good artist and teacher. I’m just now learning about Microtech knives and only have a few XM-18’s and a couple ZT’s so I have a long way to go in regards to learning about fine American made knives. I just wanted to say thank you for the lesson and say I enjoyed your video.

i don't have any Microtech Knives as i can't afford them and i am always warry of Automatic and OTF knives (as i have fears of them going off in my pocket if i were to fall or some other weird movement triggers the knives to extend/shoot out from safety), but i do love the designs of them and understand the need for such knives in certain environments, i just wanted to say keep up the great work, i have heard many great things about your blades!

Wonderful collection Tony! I did not realize you were a nihonto collector. I have been an enthusiast of nihonto for 25 years. Mito swords are some of my favorites and in my collection Norikatsu, Sukemtisu, Rekko, as well as WWII era smiths such as Gassan Sadakatsu. Thank you for sharing this fantastic video!

The time, skill, patience and precision that goes into this is incredible. A long time ago, I thought when the blade is done all you have to do is the handle and it’s probably easy. That’s not the case at all. The handle is just as important

I'm really blown away, I had no idea of this part of your interest in blades. I mean, that collection is astounding, and the knowledge and respect you have for the craftsmen and pieces is really cool. Plus imparting knowledge (correctly!) of tsukamaki and overall Japanese style fittings is is awesome. I've wrapped 10 or so tsuka and each one is better, but there is a lot of knowledge dropped in this video that will help anyone getting started or still learning like I am.

Nice collection, but that knife is gross, an insult to call a wakazashi, and the wrap is bad. That's not where the paper goes. Also, someone with this collection should know how to pronounce Edo.
