  • In this video, I demonstrate how to remove and replace a front wheel bearing hub assembly on a Jeep Commander. This procedure is very similar for most SUV's and front wheel drive vehicles.

    My front backing plates are 8 the fuck up.. ;) although I'm very grateful you made this video because now that I realize it's not as much of a pain in the ass as the back with the drum in hat in the emergency brakes I'm actually feeling a little bit better about having to rip off the front hubs to add new backing plates but I'm just going to put new hubs on anyway since I have a 145000 miles

    Very good video. Can a bad wheel bearing on commander cause a humming sound when reaches 15 mph?

    What size is the nut on the axle shaft, I don’t recall hearing you say it. Thanks in advance, great video.

    What setting did you use for the tourque ranch

      For the axle nut some say 100ftlbs or 185ftlbs. I called 4 different Jeep dealerships and they all gave me a torque spec of 229ftlbs.

    Would a bad bearing/hub assembly cause it to have a slight angle in the tire

    Wouldn’t that be nice if you could slid the cv axle out in this process

    Would that be one a reason for a “humming” sound??? My Jeep commander has a humming sound between 40 and 65 miles per hour.

    Any chance you'd drop those torque specs? Be a lot cooler if you did.

    • @akaredcrossbow
      @akaredcrossbow 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I couldn’t find the correct torque spec for the axle nut. Some say 100ftlbs some say 185ftlbs. I called 4 different Jeep dealerships and all 4 gave me the same 229ftlbs torque spec.
