Thanks for being so open with income/expenses! Vancouver is definitely doable on a budget. I've lived there, worked at a bakery, and also was able to put money aside.
Wow $1,500 for downtown Vancouver is pricey but not as bad as I thought! The prices in downtown Toronto here are legit INSANE, if you're in the heart of downtown Toronto everything is pretty much $3,000 and up! Love that you found a rhythm with groceries! I have 4GB too hahha! So amazing how much you end up saving every month!! This was so insightful, loved your complete transparency!!
Great video, appreciate the transparency! $1750 per month isn't bad at all! Your rent is actually very cheap. I live by myself in Yaletown and I'm paying $1900 for a 700 sq. ft. 1 bedroom condo - AND that is actually a "bargain", all the comparable units around me are well over $2000. It's by the water and has all the amenities such as swimming pool, gym, theatre, pool table, etc. but yeah I wish my rent was $1550!
Oh wow! what sort of work do you do?! that's amazing you can afford that rent! :O impressive!! i couldn't do more than $950 and survive tbh! i paid $850 in kitsilano in a sharehouse with 3 others! and now $750 for a tiny 1 bedroom. i do have a view though :) :) yaletown is gorgeous though!!
This is very helpful! Thank you sugar 🙏🏻 I really want to move to Canada soon and I’m between Vancouver and Toronto! Basically, there are so many questions are running on my mind but anyway your videos are so good and worth every sec!.
@@SashSays Well, the thank must goes to you sugar for the astonishing quality of your videos and how you present them 🙏🏻 I know it may sound weird 😅 but If you can talk about E-business opportunities that are available or even potential in Vancouver! That would be the more than great🙏🏻 Keep it up and I am sure that, very soon, your channel will be more recognized globally. Wish you the best of luck sugar
mhm so much work to keep track of all the spendings. I have tried doing it for a couple months. Now I just cross my finger and hope for the best each month. :P
Melbournd is cheaper I think. Avg salary is more compared to Vancouver and we pay 25 dollars a month for 20GB data here. That's MASSIVE!! Your videos are really helpful for comparison. I love Canada and always have a thought of moving there.
Love your videos! And thank you for being honest for your income&expense. But im wondering which type of job are you working on? And how many days you work a week? I’d appreciate if you answer this. Thank you and have a good journey on next videos
Honestly it’s hard to say!! They are so close together. I would both are as safe as each other. Possibly Davie St area could be a bit safer cause more shops/restaurants are open late. Yaletown is quieter but has a train station... so that can be dodgy. I’m a woman, so i think about night safety a lot 😬😬 but yeah.. otherwise yaletown is higher end shops and buildings. You get a fairer price range for apartments around Davie ☺️
HI DEAR, I am studying for a 4-year project management degree in my home country and want to come to Vancouver. Do you think I would be eligible, my last two years of degree gives me work experience. what are the opportunities? I am still in my 2nd year though. thank y in advance
Fair question!! Honestly to find a single apartment for that without sharing is near impossible!! My partner moved in back in 2019 and no rent has increased since. Look for older lower level apartments in the west end :)
@@SashSays so should i move to canada from austin, texas usa as i have got a job offer 🤔 for better quality of life than usa (education, crime rate, easy pr,kind people etc) compromising on a little less earnings. Btw 205k is combined income of me (ux designer) and my spouse (devops engineer)

Yep! My boyf lived there in Toronto and was soo pricey 🥺
It is not bad. I would have thought the rent would be at least $2,000!

Where do you live in Vancouver. I am planning to move to Vancouver but very clueless.
I live in Kitsilano! I would recommend my other more recent video which goes through suburbs in Vancouver and i go really in depth ☺️☺️
Davie vs Yaletown - can you rate based on livability and security in general?

Hey there! I’m sooo unsure about that. Every circumstance is different 😬😬 definitely go through the Immigration Canada website. It’s helpful!!!
Curious to know about 1500cad rent. I can't find anything < 2600 in downtown :(

How do you afford an apartment in Vancouver? Find yourself a financially stable lover!
Is it true that people in Vancouver aren't open to meet new people? I heard it's really hard to make new friends as an immigrant
Yessssss really true sadly
@@SashSays that’s true. I just moved to Vancouver not long ago and it’s not been the easiest making new friends 🥺
No Netflix premium or nothing? :P
I havent ever paid for netflix 😬 i used my old housemates’ for ages and her rents paid for it in toronto 😂 what an angel

Omg 750 + utilities is so cheap for today standards!!
Yeahhh i know!!! Haha! This video is older but my latest budget videos show how much i pay for housing 😄😄
