Thanks for your contribution to music Jona Weinhofen, Kevin Cameron, J.J. Peters and Sean Kenedy. Music for the recently deceased has been unparalleled and will always be.. Rest well Sean.
Such a solid song. I Killed The Prom Queen is one of those bands that shows that if you work your ass off and are determined you can really accomplish anything. I mean for years as a unsigned band they had such a huge following alone. They impacted the metalcore scene in a major and awesome way.
I really, really miss the 00s decade of Metalcore bands influenced by the Gothenburg Melodic Death Metal scene(Dark Tranquility, In Flames, At The Gates), there are very few bands around with that style nowadays. I'm grateful that IKTPQ is still around and they still stay true to their roots. Long live Jona Weinhofen and Kevin Cameron.
right ? Im glad prada still doing it too , and of course every time i die . if you ever liked underOath capsize made a new album that really reminds me of the 00s sounds too. Too bad IKTPQ is one of the most underrated bands ever along with norma jean , look at their videos they dont even have a million views and most of the new generic bands from today have at least 4 or 5 millions view . too sad
Marsh DTK Yup. new capsize album is 100% an underoath resurgence. and i personally loved underoath for dragging post-metal/sludge to the post-hardcore sound they had. also Stories, the youth to become is a masterpiece.
I just remember this song, and i just realize how this is near from gold, the instrumental and the lyrics, this is so powerfull when you understand it.
I saw these guys last month opening for issues and it was pretty good. I had a small chit chat with Ben coyte. He's pretty quiet but a really cool dude. Liking they're music, too.
Their current lineup is the best they've ever had if you ask me. If you doubt Jamie as a vocalist, something's wrong. He's brilliant. He is also brilliant live. Great track boys.
Yeah I don't get the beef with him. Sounds a lot like Butcher and I'm no IKTPQ historian, but Butcher sounded a lot better on their tracks than Crafter. They have a good sound and I like his vocals.
Its almost nostalgic listening to this album. I stopped really listening to this type of music years ago and I had to give them a listen because I had really liked I Killed the Prom Queen. Good shit, IKTPQ
Probably the best unclean vocals I have ever heard. He can actually do these live unlike many other "great" vocalists skipping every other line in their songs.
Listening to the differences between BMTH's There is a Heaven... and Sempiternal (other than the obvious use of a keyboard), and I don't know how to word it properly, but the guitar work on There is a Heaven... is so, like, textured and nuanced and fucking awesome that it makes it my favourite album of BMTH's, and I can only put it down to Jona's involvement and influence on the band during that time. Never listened to IKTPQ before this song and it's giving me the same 'full' feelings, which makes me super excited for Feb 14. Just my 2 cents' worth :)
My two favorite metalcore albums out of all the bands I enjoy have got to be Asking Alexandria's "Reckless & Relentless" and I Killed The Prom Queen's "Beloved". Such great music and I definitely can't wait to hear more from this band! :D Keep going heavy IKTPQ!
Ivan Glasgow Hmmmm okay! I love those songs just like I love all the others, but my favorites would have to be Closure, A Lesson Never Learned, To The Stage, and Reckless & Relentless. It sucks that you don't like the album though because I personally find it the best album that AA has ever put out so far. I mostly like it because of the rock vibe they have with their songs along with the perfectly executed vocals with the breakdowns, the less processed singing, and the nicely placed electronics and classical influence throughout the album. Perhaps give the album another listen and maybe you'll like it more the next time around. Or don't whatever!
Ivan Glasgow Ah I see! I'm also a fan of Stand Up And Scream and that's actually the first metalcore album that made me a fan of this genre. I'm not much of a fan of The Irony Of Your Perfection mostly because I find the singing and screaming a bit mediocre and the guitars not as clear. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's just not my type of music. Although I haven't listened to Stand Up And Scream for a long time, it still remains as one of my favorite albums but I love Reckless & Relentless more. But I'm assuming that we can agree that the third album was a disappointment, right?
fuck yeah!! these blokes go hard! honestly, so glad their new material sounds as good as it does. my favourite band is back, even with new members. this vocalist has been around the longest out of them all, so hopefully that stays the same. excellent song!
Dope as fuck instrumentals on this! Jona kills it as always! Vocals are sick to me, got a distinct grainy sounds to them which I love! All in all a solid track and cemented the fact that Prom Queen are one of my favourite bands of all time. Solid stuff
Saw these guys last Thursday. Was fuckin legendary and one of the greatest live shows i've ever seen. And got a photo op with Ben Coyte. He was a quiet but cool dude.
Just to tell everyone that didn't know this... Jona has always done vocals for IKTPQ, the cleans back on their last record was Jona... You can tell people that say that aren't "real fans/supporters" Fuck the haters, this song is solid and just... Wow!!

Pretty much done at this point , I'd say. Jona apparently doesn't have time for it anymore. They were supposed to play a one-off show at Unify 2019 with Crafter, but they pulled out.
@@Swerve_City crafter ran into some notoriety leading up to the even relating to past posts considered bullying and discriminatory and they had to pull out it was the dumbest thing to happen in Aussie events to date unify really shot themselves in the foot on that one

Anything these guys do, is pretty much flawless. So keen for there new album, I've patiently waited for new material from these guys and I am impressed with what I've heard so far!! 2014 will be the year of IKTPQ!
I think you have to be a vocalist to understand this but this frontman they have just isn't good in my opinion. He is really breathy, no grit or power, sounds like someone who just started screaming or never tried getting better, his scream is almost identical to mine from 4years ago. I like their sound, A LOT of instrumental talent here, but he needs work, cleans are ehh too.
It's not the vocalist, it's the particular technique he chooses to employ to suit IKTPQ's music. Just listen to his work in The Red Shore and you'll realize the vocalist himself is more than capable of going full beast.
"What if I told you that you meant more to me, than the stars on the horizon if I were lost at sea?" Anyone know the first part? "What if I told you, you were the only one, to get inside my head and raise my ?? towards the ??"

Also, thanks for proving my theory that you can't understand this stuff. Consequently - damn those are great lyrics! Can't wait til someone does a cover of this song and makes it listenable (for me).

He clearly couldn't understand the lyrics, or he wouldn't have asked AND he had them wrong. Your theory? Wrong. Second - I couldn't care less what you, he, the Pope, or Jesus listen to. I said that I don't care for this music, but the lyrics are ahhhhh-mazing, and I hope someone eventually does this song justice (again, *my* opinion) so that I may listen to its wonderful lyricicity (totally made up word) and not feel like I am listening to someone try to sing through three dicks in his mouth. Third - Have a nice day. Or, as the lead singer would say "HERRRV ERRRRR NEERRRRZ DURRRRR!"
Calling malarkey. Just because you like this music as I do, you're telling me you understand every word to every song without ever looking up lyrics? I love this music and love the vocals, but I can't understand them all the time, and neither can you. Accept there are people out there who disagree with our taste in music and stop trying to be all cool and act like your eyes are somehow superior to mine.

i just came here to listen to bands ive never heard of and I thought same thing. I like the band and the actual singing is good but his screaming isnt good. Its kind of hard to listen to
they would be just as big as august burns red if they had a different vocalist. I know they get along with Jamie and they are signed but I just can't get into this band because of the vocal kind. The instruments are amazing but it just ruins it for me
Have to agree with you, sounds so much like ed and its horrible, crafter is a fuckwit but his vocals made that prom queen sound. now this is just a bunch of guys trying to milk the name
And i kinda can't get into august burns red cause of his vocals haha, the 3 times i've seen new iktpq they've sounded pretty much on spot with their recordings just jamies vocals improving a bit each time :)

This vocal style is really unusual in the scene these days, that's why the new metalcore fans are a bit insecure about it.
yeah, because this is what the vocal style always was like! now its all whiney strained screams and pussified choruses. PROM QUEEN IS REAL METALCORE
Iktpq saved metalcore from shitty screamo

they would be just as big as august burns red if they had a different vocalist. I know they get along with Jamie and they are signed but I just can't get into this band because of the vocal kind. The instruments are amazing but it just ruins it for me
It's an acquired taste
Have to agree with you, sounds so much like ed and its horrible, crafter is a fuckwit but his vocals made that prom queen sound. now this is just a bunch of guys trying to milk the name
And i kinda can't get into august burns red cause of his vocals haha, the 3 times i've seen new iktpq they've sounded pretty much on spot with their recordings just jamies vocals improving a bit each time :)
Vocals are the main attraction of this band for me ! Unique !
It is funny how you guys are being ass holes about his opinion he was probably looking for a new band
