Glad the video was helpful, yes the long support for this product makes it a good option for long term use. I will be interested to see the Hourglass Sand colour for the H100 in person
Mine arrived this morning. Thanks for a great review again, Steve. I also tested them against my H95’s. Wow. So now I have a spare pair of 95’s, hahahaha
Dearest Beloved Steve, Thank you for a Great review! And nice lambo! If i may kindly enquire, How do the H100 function in calls in noisy environments? Also, how is the ANC compared to the likes of Sonys or Bose QC Ultras if you used them? The H95 were not great in ANC
Glad you liked the review. The H100 ANC works really well in noisy environments, better than H95. Sorry I never use Sony or Bose headphones so I can't comment on them.
Raced the Huracan GT3 Evo for two years and while its sound is admittedly unbeatable by any headphone, the H100 really is the Bluetooth headset to beat. Amazing right out of the box and a vast improvement over the 95s. I have nearly tried them all (barring £10k studio headphones) and haven’t found a match yet. €1,400 is steep but worth it, considering a Knick in the Lamborghini bodywork will set you back 10 times that.
I imagine the GT3 Evo must be an amazing race car, even the standard Huracan Performante and Tecnica road cars that I have driven are really dialled in and focused. H100 is a superb headphone and stands up well against more expensive headphones. That was my reason for using the Huracan as an example - it puts the price of the H100 into context, whilst being a superb driver's car for those who want the best.
I currently have the H95 headphones and had a feeling B&O would be bringing out new headphones in the future as the H95 have been out a while. When the H100’s come out I’ll definitely be buying some!
The sound REALLY nice but one thing that bothers me a bit is that I like the normal setting for some music and the virtual for other... and then you are often going to the app to switch. Heavy or bass music is on the normal but more laid back music is on the virtual setting. Its not a problem but I find my self often trying both options. One of the first songs I heard was Angelina Jordan "If I was a boy" cover, with the virtual setting and it was breathtaking to listen to it... that one song on these and I was sold. The volume wheel on the H100 is solid with a high quality feel and the H95 always felt cheap and loose so that is really nice. And then there is the "turning on sound" when you take them on, it almost makes you want to put them on just to hear it.
Yes, the build quality is a real step up from H95, also the sound is superb. That is an interesting point about the spatial audio settings, I will suggest to B&O that it could be nice if the spatial audio setting could be easily assigned to one of the headphone controls to allow it to be changed without needing to open the app.
Super interesting review - fair feedback on the pricing … I’ve got the H95’s, and love them, but the cost of these … prohibitive … out of interest since you bring up what you’re wearing (prefer the usual more informal look) what Rolex watch are you sporting there, a datejust?
Thank you for the review! I would love to own a set someday, but cannot put that amount of money down right now. I may splurge around my birthday, or if some wonderful special edition colors come out.
Do the H100 reach higher volume levels than the H95s? For me, I have always wanted a little more volume out of the H95, like 20% more. If the H100 are louder I feel that is also a improvement. Thanks for the review!
Hi Steve. Love the channel Great review and the correlation to the Lamborghini Pity about you can’t listen passively to the H100 or the H95 Do you know out of the current range which headphones can you listen to passively eg when the battery is dead you can still listen? HX , portal ?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! The most recent B&O headphones that can work passively are the Beoplay H9 3rd gen, which are now discontinued. I have these headphones at home and they are superb!
Hello, thank you for the review. I was wondering, there’s a 3,5mm to USBC cable included. Do you have any details on how that works. Does it take an analogue signal, converts it to digital first and then back to analogue inside or do they have a way to directly feed the analogue signal into the amplifier inside the headphones? If they do the conversion I wonder what sort of quality we’re getting from that.
They do sound superb and a massive improvement to my H95s. On the contrary I do like that they have a less bulkier case, but also disappointed that these won't fold like th H95s. I'll be waiting for some limited edition releases like I did with the H95s wherein I got the Berluti edition.
Very nice suit and a fine tie. Thank you for the show of respect fo your audience. Always appropriate. Great review also! Unfortunately, I also see the main ingredient of these fabulous hearphones to be Unobtanium.
Thanks for your kind words, I'm glad you liked the review and my extra effort to dress smartly! I agree, these headphones are out of my price range, I wish they were less expensive!
Do these connect over Apple Airplay? as the sound over Airplay would be better for movies than over Bluetooth? Has someone actually watched a movie with these with the Dolby Atmos function? and of course, has someone actually tried to connect them to Apple TV?
Hi, there is no Airplay but they do work superbly well using Atmos and other spatial audio content - I used the wired connection for this and it worked very well. I haven't used headphones with Apple TV, I don't think this has a Bluetooth or wired analogue audio output?
Wow, what headphones. It looks and sounds like a joy to own them, but I believe they are out of my price range. currently I own the Dali IO-12, which are comfortable, have extremely good audio, have a hard case, and can also be used with a cable when turned off. Have you tried that model, and if yes, how would you compare them?
Hi Steve, did you test these cans for telephone quality? If so did you a static noise? The H95 emitted a strange static noise during telephone calls while the transparency mode was switched on. When I turned ANC on the noise disappeared.
Hi Steve. I had one gripe with the H95 and that was that the headband kept touching my head in a very uncomfortable way, which rendered them useless. I had a pair for a couple of days and I returned them. It doesn't look like the H100 will be any different. I'm sure sound and build quality are superb, though. Another negative is the weight. I'll pass.
They look good and by the way reviewers are praising them, they seem very promising. When wiring them in, do they use an internal DAC? Can they be used with an external DAC?
Steve...Find your thoughtful and earnest commentary both interesting and informative. While the 'coat and tie' is a nice touch (as is the supercar tie-in), the content has always been front and center from your presentations, not so much the packaging, so fine to stick with the substance vs style IMO.
Speaking of longevity of B&O products. Is it possible to clean the padding on the band of my h95? It’s not removable as in new h100s unfortunately, and in my version (Nordic ice) it gets pretty filthy…
Hi, yes this should be possible, if wiping it with a damp cloth doesn't get it clean then I suggest contacting B&O via their website for cleaning advice.
Hello sir, I want to purchase beosound balance , I know it performs very well but I am scared of lows. I know it is not a sub, but can you please tell me does it delivers deep and punchy bass? Or is it only good on high and mids? Does it sound bright or warm?please answer my question. Can I also pair balance with beolab 19 for good lows? Love your review and efforts you employ in your videos❤❤❤
Thanks for your kind words, please check out my reviews to find out more about these speakers. Sorry I can't tell you which speakers to buy, please always hear them for yourself before purchasing. For any connection questions, please get in touch at soundsheavenly.com (UK and Europe only)
The Balance sounds bright. And you can not add a subwoofer. You can buy 2x Balance and make a stereo pairing and that will give you way better sound but its also 2x the price. If you want bass at this pricepoint then get the A9 (MK5) and you get a much bigger sound.
I suggest taking your H95 to a B&O store and having a listen to them against the H100 with some music you know well, that way you can see if they are worth the upgrade cost for you
That was my first thought but when you see materials like the leather and glass in person I’m sure they look like the price. The contrast is bold and can be signature.
I went from my B&O headphones (H9) to Apple AirPods Max because of spatial audio and really enjoyed it. I'm tempted to go back to B&O, but the price is really a barrier, and also that some of the features don't seem ready yet.
Do these fold up like the 95 did because that was a huge selling point for me I travel a lot so the ability for them to fold was very important. I own the 95 but I’m really really thinking about getting these because of the volume and I’m hoping that it is better than the 95s I’ll try to sell them or something. I don’t know but I really want these.
@kellylattimore5234 this sounds like the H95 may be better for you, as H100 doesn’t fold and they don’t have a hard carry case for travelling like the H95
Most modern international aircraft I travel on now are happy with the included USB-C to 3.5mm jack included with most headphones. I don’t travel with my airline adaptor with my Focal headphones anymore.
I forgot to add that the official airline adaptor that Apple sells separately for its AirPods Max has simply been a Lightning - now USB-C - to 3.5 mm jack. I remember when aircraft actually needed three pronged headphones. Now a flight attendant told me that they come with two simply so that passengers will not steal them, but the same fidelity comes out of either port with a 3.5mm jack.
At this price I expect sound quality comparable with something like Focal Celestee or Beyrdynamic T5 at least. H100 should totally outperform PX8, Focal Bathys or Mark Levinson 5909 (should be class or two above them). I've owned H95 and I cannot say they are something special. Significantly better than Sony 1000xm series, slightly better than B&W px7, compared to wired headphones they seems to be in par with £100-150 headphones. Even old B&W P7 are better headphones in term of sound quality. Don't talk about open backs like Sennheiser HD660, Hifiman Sundara or Ananada, these are middle class headphones and destroy H95 (most likely any ANC headphones). For that money you can buy combo Fiio M11 Plus + Hifiman Arya and maybe Sony 1000XM4 as well. If somebody want luxury looking headphones, PX8 is best option, they cost 3 time less than H100 and in my opinion look better.
@@milanbudzak1146 PX8 are close to H95, but nowhere close to H100. You do need to try them for yourself to get the measure of them. Open back headphones will always sound better at a lower price, but you lose all the features such as wireless and noise cancelling, etc.
PX8 actually cost 381 Euro on German Amazon. H100 cost 1500 EU, even more than Sennheiser HD800s. I don't believe that H100 are several classes ahead of PX8, H95 or Bathys. I found out that H100 have only SBC and AAC codec. Even LDAC is not good enough. When I use my H95 wired, there is almost no different, but when connect PX7 with wire, there is huge different in sound quality, completely different headphones. For me, it would be better to buy PX8 with Hifiman Aria/Sennheiser HD800 or maybe save more money and buy some Staxx combo. I actually own 15 headphones and ANC ones (H95, PX7, 1000xm3) are inferior to others, especially xm3. Ananda, Sundara, HD660s, Beyerdynamic T5 or Sony MDR Z7 are way better. In my Opinion, Ananda and Sundara are the best price/performance headphones.
@milanbudzak1146 one of my favourite headphone setups is Sennheiser HD599 wired to a PC using the Equaliser APO app to eq them to match the Harman curve. Very little can beat that to my ears but great that we can each enjoy different setups 👍
HD599 are very good sounding headphones, they sound very well when connected to Astell&Kern Acro, I was really surprised when heard them with that player for the first time. Same happened with ATH50mx. I was planning to sell them, but when I listen how great they sounded, I change my decision. ATH50mx are great for listening live concerts. HD599 for classic music, movies and as they are very comfortable, I use them when learning Japanese as well. Construction in both cases is very basic and cheap, but sound is excellent for it's price. People really do not need to invest thousands to get get great sound. Most important is good DAP/DAC. I thing than Sennheiser 600/650/660s with mojo 2 would be fantastic combo for most people. At the moment there are no wireless options to be even close, unfortunately. Maybe in ten, twenty years, who knows. The biggest issue is price. That kind of headphones would be extremely expensive and heavy due high capacity battery needed.
God dammit, i can’t with touch, I really REALLY love pysical buttons. Bought the Jabra t85 elite just for that and the sound is quite good! (3years old now still works)
@@soundsheavenly You are right, their speakers don’t sound good. But I think the headphones sound quite good. I heard Apple AirPod Max sounds better than B&O, do you happen to know if that’s true? I don’t own neither.
B&O fans have a wide range of views and budgets, from the £30 Beoplay headphones featured in my previous video, right up to the £100,000+ Beolab 90 super speakers. £40 on eBay gets you a Beolab 2000 speaker, so no need for deep pockets if you want to collect B&O…
That’s not true any more. E.g. The iPhone 15 Pro (not sure about the regular 15s) can charge devices with their USB-C port. So the H100 can very likely be charged with that.
Why's that? My Sony WH-1000XM3s are 1 month away from being 6 years old. Buy a quality product and it'll last quite a while. Although for the price I'd want these to last 10 years.
..... but it's a Beoplay. I can't help but think if they released a Beolab headphone, that would be the really "special" one. Also, to me, this design is really quite underwhelming...... their most pirated earphone with the behind-the-ear hook was the most distinctive design and there hasn't been a similarly astounding headphone/earphone from them since...
I feel like the Phillips L4 headphones have the potential to be a strong competitor to these headphones at a fraction of the price, however people are saying that they get Bluetooth connection issues. Have you checked them out yet? I wish there were more reviews about them.
I will not replace my H95 lunar red edition for the H100s, they look cheap and tacky by comparison. How did B&O management even approve this hideous knockoff looking POS!!

Excellent detailed review!
One question about that 10hz bass. Can you feel vibrations? If not, I'm unsure how it's beneficial.
Thanks! Good question, the sub 20Hz response is largely theoretical in headphones as you can’t feel the sub bass as you would at a concert. However at louder levels it does still seem to come through
Watching and listening to this using my new H100s I picked up before the sale last week.
Incredible build quality and very impressive so far.
Thanks, that is good to hear!

the H95 is already a small distance above the Airpod Max. Can't wait to pick this up.
H100 is a good step above H95, well worth a listen.

Yes, H100 is plenty loud enough, I haven’t turned them above 50% yet
Exactly my thoughts. The volume is one of the biggest downsides of the H95.

The H100 sets completely new standards for design, functionality and sound quality ☺️

@KJP-dv2uj yes, but I like to have the airline adapter with me just in case
@KJP-dv2uj thanks, that is good to know
There is no need for a suit and tie, please. Wi are in the XXI century 😅❤
Ha ha, I will be back to my usual blue polo short again next video, nice to get a chance to dress up smart once in a while though!
thank you for this youtube
You are welcome 👍🏻
HX is not capable of being used passively??
No, H9 was the last B&O headphone that allowed passive operation
I would really like to buy it, but I'm waiting for a rolling volume along with the quality
Well worth hearing it to see how it sounds for your ears
Keep the suit and tie. We’re not animals. I agree that the price is too punchy. On the good side, I like the dials.
Thank you sir 👍
Driving a Lamborghini those NC Headphones come in handy …
Ha ha, yes it was certainly loud!
I think these are for me!
They are superb, please let me know what you think once you get them!
The car or the headphones? 🤣
I want both, but can’t afford either 🤣
God dammit, i can’t with touch, I really REALLY love pysical buttons. Bought the Jabra t85 elite just for that and the sound is quite good! (3years old now still works)
I agree, I also prefer physical buttons for control
Then maybe have a look at the Dali iO-12. I've never tried them but the reviews are pretty promising :)
Bose has been doing spacial audio for years, maybe they are a better value for it since H100 is so expensive.
Yes, but the sound of Bose speakers has put me off from ever wanting to listen to their headphones…
@@soundsheavenly You are right, their speakers don’t sound good. But I think the headphones sound quite good. I heard Apple AirPod Max sounds better than B&O, do you happen to know if that’s true? I don’t own neither.
@ErickSu1 I prefer the B&O H95 to AirPods Max personally
@@soundsheavenlyThanks!
How can you be a b&o fan (and I guess own speakers) without being able to afford this headphone? It’s all super expensive 🤔
Can a phone charge the headphones through the usb c?
Hi, phones don’t provide any voltage via USB, so they cannot charge headphones
That’s not true any more. E.g. The iPhone 15 Pro (not sure about the regular 15s) can charge devices with their USB-C port. So the H100 can very likely be charged with that.
@wochenweise thanks, that is interesting to hear
These will NOT be long term headphones simply because wireless and digital tech is changing so quickly.
OK, but they can still be used via a wired connection long after wireless standards have changed.
The H100 can be updated for many years to come
Why's that? My Sony WH-1000XM3s are 1 month away from being 6 years old. Buy a quality product and it'll last quite a while. Although for the price I'd want these to last 10 years.
Yes, I would expect a minimum ten years lifespan for headphones at this price range, which should be realistic for the H100
I want a pair so bad. I just cant afford one
Yes, I know exactly what you mean! Same situation here.
I'll be upgrading from my 7 year old h9 haha
I still use my H9, great headphones 👍🏻
..... but it's a Beoplay. I can't help but think if they released a Beolab headphone, that would be the really "special" one. Also, to me, this design is really quite underwhelming...... their most pirated earphone with the behind-the-ear hook was the most distinctive design and there hasn't been a similarly astounding headphone/earphone from them since...
Don’t worry about the name, this is their flagship product. I agree with you on the design though
I feel like the Phillips L4 headphones have the potential to be a strong competitor to these headphones at a fraction of the price, however people are saying that they get Bluetooth connection issues. Have you checked them out yet? I wish there were more reviews about them.
Sorry, I have never heard any Philips headphones. They aren't something I would be looking to review.
Tieless, please 😂
Ha ha, should I stick to my usual blue polo shirts then? ;-)
Sharp tie
Thanks, glad you like it!
Nice review. Too bad this set and the H95 does not work when battery is dead .
Thanks. I agree it would be nice if they could work passively without needing the battery to be charged
@@soundsheavenly is there a BO model that works passively without battery?
@rodriguezahr yes, Beoplay H9 stills works without the battery
Thank you Steve interesting but Design sucks
Glad you liked the review, I'm undecided as to whether I prefer the H100 design, or the previous H95 at this stage. They certainly sound great though!
I will not replace my H95 lunar red edition for the H100s, they look cheap and tacky by comparison. How did B&O management even approve this hideous knockoff looking POS!!
I also love the look of H95 although the Lunar Red colour is a bit too bold for me!
Too heavy...
Do you mean me, the headphones, or the car? ;-)
