    Jensen to Nvidia Engineers: Listen guys, you need to make these cards more compact. Still too easy to fix. Were here to sell cards, and I need another leather jacket. Chop chop! : )

    Reminder don't send him cards without thermal paste :/

    • @SkateClipsAndTips
      @SkateClipsAndTips 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yup, shipping without thermal paste is a bad idea

    • @wtrojanow
      @wtrojanow 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      I think the lack of thermal paste can even damage the core on the top. I mean it can crack the gpu core on the edges during shipping

    • @aleksandrbmelnikov
      @aleksandrbmelnikov 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, it only causes card fall into extreme throttling or shutdown. Even without paste, there is still some GPU die contact. Not end of world, just more pain when conducting first assessment.

    • @wtrojanow
      @wtrojanow 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@aleksandrbmelnikov yes that's 100% true. But I meant what can happen if you send a video card without a thermal paste. If a heatsink is not screwed down enough the heatsink can just wigle in the package while shipping making the core cracked on the edge. The probability is rather low but it is still possible.
      Btw, I've seen in the internet totally cracked core due to a heatsink screwed down too tight meaning the cores are not indestructible.

    • @VeritasEtAequitas
      @VeritasEtAequitas 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is there a shipping how-to in the discord? Probably should be. Common sense is good, but some people might not realize this matters.

    These still work on the latest windows 10 pro, should prevent all automatic updates and restarts. Tested on windows 11 pro several months ago and worked but some locations are slightly different, not sure about now. Home will ignore most of them even if you enable group policy. If these don't work on windows 10 pro then the OS is bugged. Apologies for long comment, hopefully this is useful.

Would love to send you my old MSI i5 GTX 960M one day(since i bought new Desktop). Its working (GPU and all) but its a mess. Overheats, 80Cº on idle, perfomance issues, Exterior shell broken, screws missing making it loose, Fan doing weird noises even AFTER i had a new Fan placed (the tech store is crap)...Im sure you would return to me as if i had just purchased it 😋 . Maybe one day... Thank you again!

    • @inabstract

      @@Zeusbeer Hi. Yes, i sent it to the clean, i explained the issues (fan doing an incredible loud noise etc). They ordered a new Fan, put a new fan, no idea what else they did. Im assuming they were professionals and cleaned, replaced the paste etc. And yet, 1 month later, the fan was noisy again, the Laptop overheats more then should, basically, i spent money for nothing. Incompetent people ...
      Edit:. I never done it myself. Mostly out of fear of breaking something. But im pretty sure i would do a better job just by watching this channel lol. DOubt those incompetents used alchool, or cleaned every surface, or used proper paste or pads, and probably didnt even try to fix whatever is causing the fan to make weird noises. Lets just order a new one...

    The going away short reminds me of an HD 5770, in a bad way - think of things going in flames. It had a short on the 12 V from the PCIE fingers. I took it apart, cleaned it, tried to inject 1.2V and see what warms up. Nothing warmed up. Measuring the resistance, the short was gone.
    I mistook a meandering resistance value for capacitors charging - but that would give you a resistance reading that always increases. Powered the card, and poof, woosh and a yellow flame coming from two MLCCs next to the memory controller buck converter.
    I managed to fix the card, but I learned a lesson: there is no such thing as a short going away on its own. It WILL come back to bite you.

    Iv just purchased a 3090 with ek block but seller mentioned under high loads after some time it has a little coil whine which is only noticeable according the the seller when it an absolute silent room running heavy loads for a long period of time.
    I have looked up that slight coil whine problem with the strix oc series which i have purchased from the seller i am just wondering if any possible ways to reduce coil whine to help preserve the card for longer .
    I know haveing the wrong power supply setup can cause these problems and also memory getting hot or have i made a really bad purchase 🤔
    I only ask because ive never had coil whine from a gpu only power supply in past att i am running a x99 board which i bought cheap an fixed the cpu pins an a kingpin 1080ti with oc bios 2012mhz on core never goes over 60 degrees which has been my trusty work horse for years .

    6:12 I'm using 2 methods to stop Windows updates in win 10. First one is to set the maximum allowed time of active hours. Second is, right after Windows boot, when Windows are looking for updates (which you can confirm by the 100% usage of a single thread), disconnect from the wifi network for 2 seconds and then reconnect. This stops Windows from looking for new updates.

REALLY?!?! They need to go back with double PCI-E plugs. And pull the tracings away from PCB tab. Me, i'd wish they give access to VBIOS resource files. Something simple as changing codepage or output priority, would solve many customer problems.

    6:25 - Why would they design that pcb so small, with all the components so close together, making it so difficult to repair? What is the motivation?

    Hello my friend, how are you? I have a question for you. Why do video cards break so much? I have seen many of your videos and I see that many graphics cards break from one thing or another, is that due to some type of abuse or will they all break over time no matter what you do? , because I take great care of my graphics card, it is an RX 6800XT MSI GAMING X TRIO, look at this example of what I do. My monitor is 27 1080P 165Hz and I set it to 60Hz or 75Hz to play AAA games so as not to load the GPU so much and for the temperatures to be as low as possible. I have the graphics fans very well controlled with the MSI Afterburner, either. I do no type of overclocking. What recommendation do you have for me as a repair specialist to prolong the useful life of my graphics card as much as possible?

      Make sure the card has support on the end so it's not sagging. Video cards nowadays are heavy and use lead-free solder which cracks easily so just be gentle when handling, but heat cycles and heat in general can kill any card at basically any time, so just keep it as cool as you can. If you are really worried, you could probably lower the power target of the card so it doesn't get as hot. Some people undervolt the GPU but that can cause instability/crashing. Also, enable Vsync or limit FPS if you don't already do that to limit heat ouput.

      Not USB signal, just used as a PCIe cable extension for the riser card.

    What causes the corrosion? Is it just moisture in the air?

      i dont know. The owner of this and 1060 gpu was clueless of the corrosion existence.
