The spindle is rotating right through the rubber plunger seal. Wouldn't that hole fail, water seeps through, and short the motor, after a couple of hours? How long have you had it running?
I would assume so I only came looking for a diy "pump" for quick water changes. I ended up finding whatever all this is, someone said they made it and it lasted two days.

they dont have space, is a very small acuarium for so many fishes
Judging by how cloudy the water is too, I don't think the tank has been cycled. Those fish are swimming in a gas chamber.

I think the black syringe seal will fail quickly because the motor shaft is rubbing against it. The hole will get bigger and then water will destroy the motor and short out the power.
I was thinking of a way that can seal that hole area maybe oil can work? Use of a motor with longer shaft can enable double sealing design

Hi, this looks good. Can I just ask a couple of questions? Firstly, where do you find a plastic syringe? Secondly, what tool are you using to cut the end off the USB cable, is it pliers? Also, what size syringe is it you are using?

If the wire's polarity was reversed, would the water enter from the opposite opening? Was thinking how to solder it right the first time to avoid the mistake of making the water flow in the wrong direction.
No the propellor will go the other way around but the water is still pushed upwards.
