Seraphim X was hard for me back in the day and I only ever beat him twice before the Legacy Collection came out, but then I learned the ultimate tactic that made beating him a hell of a lot easier... The fully extended Triple Rod can hit him from below.
I feel Elpizo should be on this list. As cool he is, he was very underwhelming as a final boss, more notably his 2nd phase where he lets you wail on him and and even generate gold toys to make it easier

@Joseph Davis If you aren't prepared, yeah. Aztec Falcon is pretty rough, and this is coming from someone who actually LIKES the guy. That's by design though. If you can't get past him without grinding to get Charge Slash, then you don't get an A-Rank and don't need to deal with the Boss EX Skills going forward (trust me, Fefnir and Staggroff's are particularly harsh).
@Joseph Davis The game rates you on how well you play. Damage taken, time, enemies killed, etc. At A-Rank or higher, the bosses have an EX Skill shuffled into their kit, and usually it's their toughest attack to dodge. B-rank and below, you won't see them at all. In Z1 this only serves to make the game harder, in Z2 and Z3 it lets you learn Zero's EX Skills/Special Techniques, and in Z4 it makes some of the bosses use them while others depend on the weather, which is the new EX Skill criteria so rank is effectively just making it harder again. And yes, you have to grind weapon EXP to earn the right to charge your weapons. It's dumb and I generally don't care for it but Charge Saber is the only one that's all that useful so it isn't a big deal.
I remember Aztec Falcon was demoted to A vehicle for Harpuia after the first game hahahaha Edit: The Lyric version of Zero's theme by Man on the internet is great my favorite lyrics is "Programmed to Kill yet they gave me a heart!! "
Funny thing is, Aztec Falcon becomes more difficult to fight if you stick to the walls *pun intended* If you focus on dodging the arrows by dashing instead of wall climbing, and just jump over him when he charges at you, you'll notice a lot of openings.
10. I never really took damage from the heat in sol titanion's fight. 9. Yeah, harpuia gets spark mandrilled bad in this, but i'd say it leans more into toad man syndrome though, since he still gets to do damage. 8. Normally popla is pretty easy, but he's actually pretty tough to perfect run apparently since he's one of the more random fights. 7. Yea, pretty much. 6. It can take forever, but it could also be done under a minute if you have the air rolling slash 5. Doesn't help the EX skill kinda sucks too, its like the only bad one in the game too 4. Yea, the hitbox sucks, but i'd say its less that elements are stuck to ex skills being the problem and more ex skills being stuck with elements, like take the flame fang, it would be neat against pegasolta, too bad it's fire only, so it does 0 damage to him. At least the ice javelin is great on both bosses if its hit right. Also also, mino magnus probably gives the worst buster ex skill in the series. 3. Honestly, the time limit never really came close to ending for me. 2. Even if the hit priority system was fully realized in Z2, this boss would still be a pain given his baiting and teleporting tactic. 1. This boss is pretty much the only reason I need to use elves in Z1. Too bad, it means more grinding because chances are, even with the two batches of crystals from the power plant, you will need to grind if you need more than 1 subtank's worth of elf. Also , it feels off whenever the buster is used as the primary weapon, but thats just me and only really being able to play while utilizing the hit priority system to combo bosses. Also, seeing bosses and enemies get cut in half is just satisfying
The final boss for Z1 I kidd u not took me a 2 whole weeks because like an idiot I didn't know what the elves did so I never bothered using them and I never used the buster cause fuck guns I got a lightsaber
@@renyuuzu His attacks aren't that easy to dodge. You have very little time for the halos late in the fight and the light attack is always stupidly fast. Even if you know what he's gonna do, it's when he's starting the move, you don't have much more time to react anyways.
@@uandresbrito5685 Actually, when he uses the halos, he says "Kuiaratame yo!" Whilte putting his hands up, and then the attack happens, given you plenty of time to go back to the center and dodge it. The only attack that can catch you of guard is the EX Skill where he just laughs and starts spamming. I think his first form is actually worst to deal with.
This would be interesting. Top 10 or maybe even a top 15 Kirby bosses would also be a good idea. Kirby has some amazing bosses without even including final bosses. If final bosses were included, the Star Dream, Magalor and Void Termina would get on the top or at least high up in the list.
I endured even more of that suffering whilst fighting Copy X for the first time. 3 whole hours on one boss, not counting the time I spent mindlessly grinding on the enemies in the Intro Stage after I gave up about an hour into trying the fight. Easily one of the most mind-numbing experiences and one of the worst bosses I have ever faced.
True, but stabbing him from below with the Triple Rod lets you get some easy damage in (and that's about the only time I use the Triple Rod for something other than collecting Cyber Elves).
After seeing this, I’m glad I played Zero 1 on Casual Scenario. It doesn’t help that the most reliable way I found to actually hit Copy X’s second phase was the Triple Rod from below. Man, those Save-Assist Points were life- and sanity-savers! (And don’t get me started on that damned bomb-disarming mission...!)
7. Personally, the laziest thing I can conceive for a boss have the boss stand perfectly still, never attack you, and die after ONE HIT, just one! The worst offender is Lucien from Fable 2. At least the final battle of Fable 3 made up for that by actually having you battle! Also, you remember Catscratch? SO DO I! 5. Violen from Megaman X2 also had the issue of him being able to spam his most annoying attack, his flail attack! There's no rhyme or reason as to where the ball and chain will strike as it has an erratic and unpredictable pattern. It is for that reason why he is one of my least favorite bosses in the X series. 4. Funny enough, the tiny hitbox that's protected by his hulking frame is also the same reason why Sigma phase 2 in Megaman X3 is my least favorite final boss in the X series. Because even if you shoot the head, more often than not, it just won't damage him because of A. His large body, B. He can only be damaged from shooting his head with a fully charged buster shot from the front, and C. Your charge shots won't pierce his body if you try to shoot him from behind. That fight is a disaster without the Z-Saber (which can make quick work of him). And I hope you met the requirements to get it. 2. I think it's more appropriate to say he teleports around the room the instant your attacks lands and goes "Nuh-uh, didn't hurt me, I'm immune." rather than dodges attacks. 1. I personally find his halos a bigger threat than the laser barrage. Because his halos can instakill you if they manage to drag you into the pit.
Pretty much. Magalor from Return to Dreamland did the same thing, only better - sure, he constantly teleports, but at the very least, if you hit him, it's guaranteed to deal damage. In this case the only way you *can* guarantee damage on Magnion is if (and sometimes it's a big "if") you manage to hit him mid-attack.
I actually built a lego model of Aztec Falcon long ago. I still think that he is pretty cool, it's just the grinding and arena that make him annoying for players.
Beating Copy X without having used a single cyber-elf throughout the whole game is, without a doubt, the HARDEST thing I have done in any video game up to this point in time. Thank you to whoever put the save-assist feature in the legacy collection, because it allowed me to somewhat manipulate his AI in phase 1 so I could try to avoid as much damage as possible. Most of his attacks do at least 1/4 or your health bar in damage
@@uandresbrito5685 Yep. And then of course, like an idiot, accidentally saved over the file where I had him upgraded but still unused. Luckily I was smart enough to at least take a screenshot having him un-upgraded on my switch...
I can agree with a lot on this list with the exception of #2, Phoenix Magnion was one of the first real challenges I faced as a gamer and the pinpoint precision I learned while facing him got me through the series; yes the stage is more than a little dull, but the fight, design and backstory on him (He used to serve Phantom) make beating him without any damage may be one of my greatest achievements as a gamer.
Also did you know in the Phoenix magnion fight you can dash through the clones? Although, it doesn’t make things that easier, because you have a 25% chance to dash into the real guy.
I unfortunately had the same hair pulling experience with phase two of Copy X as a kid to point where I'd actually snapped my DS in half. That's how frightening and destructive this boss and many others were without a strategy and guide. Thank God for the new checkpoint in the the legacy collection, otherwise my tv could've been next.
I think Mega Man Zero is the only series I've actually played all the way through among all the different Mega Man generations. Can agree on a lot of these bosses as ones that annoy the crap out of me.
The zero series, More than any other megaman game series, Would have benefited from no live system. It's difficulty was enough on its own to be fun. I played these games with save states and it was a blast, but still some of the most severely difficult gameplay i've ever played. Maybe instead of extra lives and cyber elves, they could have gone back the old Etank system. That would incentivize exploration while making the game optionally easier if needed.
Tbh I had much bigger issues with Phoenix magnions stage than I did with himself. Too much instant death, needing to clear the stage in a specific way for advantage, and then fighting the lethal boss at the end of it all, in the beginning of the game of all times. I don't hate him or the stage but mmz2 had a serious difficulty problem that only returned with mmz4 hard mode
i can't agree with the fact that you consider that any boss in any of the megaman series is worse then boobeam trap that thing was the epitome of bad game design combined with console limitations screwing you over , a boss that forces you to commit sudoku if you miss one shot is a terrible boss fight. other then that atleast you can SEE what pheonix does against you unlike the trap that just decides within itself if it wants you to see it's shots or not
How about High Max from X6? He can't be damaged by the X or Zero Busters. He's also a boss you can encounter on any stage's alternate path. So the game will punish you with an unwinnable fight for exploring before you beat any of (or enough of, if you picked poorly) the main 8 bosses. Worse, it goes against what you were just taught because the previous boss you fought in alternate paths was Nightmare Zero, who could be damaged by the X Buster and beating him unlocks Zero.
The only problem with Aztec Falcon was that he was a very fast rude awakening to anyone who were doing alright when first playing Zero 1 up until that point, after that though he's pretty easy, just charge your Saber and bait him into doing the slam, hit him with Saber and repeat the step until dead.
Aw yes. Aztec Falcon. Quite possibly my least favorite boss in the Mega Man series. BECAUSE he's Zero 1's first boss. Thank goodness for the save assist in the ZERO/ZX Legacy Collection. That means for Zero 1 I don't have to worry about Retry Chips.
The Zero series should’ve left heart tanks, sub tanks and enhancement chips alone and let the cyber elves act more like the familiars in Symphony of the Night
The fact that the A.I of the 9# spot its so easy to manipulate that i have cleared that game more than a 100 times and i never knew that attack existed
Dude, the first boss is cake in zero one, you need to hit him with the saber four times. Either charge him once and combo him or just dodge the shots and slash him as he jumps around.
When you finally make a video of the following: top ten / twenty netnavis from Megaman Battle Network, top ten of the best and worst chips you get from bosses in the above-mentioned series, your reaction to battle royal between megamans (from classic to Star Force series) ), as well as let's play from the Megaman Battle Network and Megaman Star Force series?
To be fair about Cubit Foxtar's attack where he splits into five fires, you can easily use the Shadow Dash chip to dash right through the lower two fires as they come back around to ground level.
Might just be my bias for zero 2 but I really like Phoenix’s fight and his stage is one of my favorites. I find the attacks fun to doge. I like the branching paths and the music is godly. Also what the fuck Foxstar is male. I’ve been lied to.
I have to admit that when I was fighting him I was constantly rocking out. Actually I beat Gate on my first try, I almost fell in the pit 2 times and it took 10 minutes. The entirety of Gate 2 took me 2 hours to beat. Great way to spend an afternoon.
I saw 85min when it came to how long it took to get used to copy x phase 2 I thought to myself. Now imagin spending 3 months straight on one yeeting bossfight.
I want to add literally the first boss you mention, you can remove the overheating sunlight via destroying generators in certain rooms while climbing up to her
Number 1 was the bane of my childhood. If someone told me that the final battle involved a two-sided pit fall with 5ft of walking space, I would have turned around and left Neo Arcadia.
Interesting bit: #4 has multiple death sprites if you kill it with the Z-saber normally, it dies with a vertical slice. If you kill it during one of it's moves (it's the attack similar to the other attack you mentioned. You know what I mean), it's a diagonal slice.
I'm hyped. As this was one of my intros into the fighting game genre. My main, and most favorite character throughout the entire franchise is Jon Talbain. Here's hoping Capcom finally gives the beloved werewolf protagonist some with respect in the next major crossover aka he's actually playable, and given a proper role in the storyline.
On my first playthrough of z1, phantom and copy x destroyed me. Even with the save points from the legacy collection, i got ripped a new one. I literally had to restart the final level in order to grind and beat copy x. But eventually i made it
You say all this, but I learn stuff from this videos about these games that I wouldn't have found/tried out otherwise. For example, I didn't know letting the mechaniloid in zero 1 destroy a chunk of the wall lead to a cyber elf, or that you can destroy those lasers shooting things in phoenix magnion stage
NGL, the Z1 X fight wasn't too bad, if you time it right, you can use the rod weapon to bounce on his head a couple times and then try to avoid the halo attacks if timed right. It's tough but doable.
I gotta say, this list is pretty dang accurate. Personally, I really enjoy Sol Titanion's boss fight primarily 'cause it's one of the few boss fights affected by accomplishing the main objective of the level. Once you get the temperature low enough it creates a decent balance between difficulty. Also, HOW CAN YOU SAY PHEONIX MAGNION'S STAGE IS BAD??? Sure, there's some difficult sections there, but it's such a fun level because there's so many ways to approach it. I swear it feels like I discover new stuff there all the time and optimizing the best path to make Pheonix's fight easier makes it so rewarding.
I feel like Cubit Foxtrot, Mino Magnus, Pheonix Magnion and Copy X is just the case of 'git gud.' Though that's probably just me because I found those fights Challenging but not hair-tearingly bs and that there's that high-level execution that feels great to succesfully do. I agree with Aztec Falcon though but, the charged slash hitbox is actually pretty massive though that's from repeated experience.
Qubit Foxtar fire dance attack only requires you to weave back and forth and back again using dash. It only LOOKS hard to dodge but if you replay the clip there's only two pattern you have to follow depending on where he/she/it was facing.
This is honestly one of the best collabs on here. You just bounced off each other very well, especially with your utter disdain for the top 2 choices. That said… I’m surprised that Elpizo wasn’t even an honorable mention. But as is, the list was solid.
I really need to play more Megaman, too bad I don't have much time nor money and there are other series I plan on getting into first (cough cough No More Heroes). I should pick up the Legacy, X and Zero collections when I get the money for it.
for me was the retrieve the data stage in megaman zero 1 was the most annoying because as soon as i try to shoot the bastard with a charged shot hed convert into a ball roll into me take and take out my whole health bar.

Monster Party's Dancing Dead. Lol
Number 2 makes me think that he would make more sense as a final or late game boss in a Kirby game given how much he teleports.
Trying to unlock Jackson?
@@uandresbrito5685 Yep. And then of course, like an idiot, accidentally saved over the file where I had him upgraded but still unused. Luckily I was smart enough to at least take a screenshot having him un-upgraded on my switch...
@@tdawgmaster1729 I learned my lesson. Zero 1 100% only if I use E-Crystals cheats. Otherwise not worth it getting Ultimate Mode.
@@uandresbrito5685 Oh man, that E-crystal grind was tedious as hell
Wow! 0_o
I think Mega Man Zero is the only series I've actually played all the way through among all the different Mega Man generations. Can agree on a lot of these bosses as ones that annoy the crap out of me.
17:48 I just hugged the wall and slashed Falcon right before he jumps, then go to the other and vice versa, didn’t even have to grind for it...
I dunno why but the way Count Shamen "and chicken" at 6:44 just cracks me up!
In Zero 4, the elements are also from your only Cyber Elf if you upgrade her.
And also the Ex skills, which you can only get if you play the stage with an orange square on that stage before you go through
"Bad case of first game syndrome."
Hmmm, interesting idea for a list.
This aged well!
i can't agree with the fact that you consider that any boss in any of the megaman series is worse then boobeam trap
that thing was the epitome of bad game design combined with console limitations screwing you over , a boss that forces you to commit sudoku if you miss one shot is a terrible boss fight. other then that atleast you can SEE what pheonix does against you unlike the trap that just decides within itself if it wants you to see it's shots or not
I don't see how a boss that dodges your first attack is ANYWHERE close to that abomination from Mega Overated Man 2
Uandres Brito "Mega overrated Man 2" wow, I loved that
How about High Max from X6? He can't be damaged by the X or Zero Busters. He's also a boss you can encounter on any stage's alternate path. So the game will punish you with an unwinnable fight for exploring before you beat any of (or enough of, if you picked poorly) the main 8 bosses. Worse, it goes against what you were just taught because the previous boss you fought in alternate paths was Nightmare Zero, who could be damaged by the X Buster and beating him unlocks Zero.
The Triple Rod made my time with Copy X Phase 2 much less stressful.
Amen brother
3:06
Apparently you’ve never seen CuteSmexyRobutts art of her.
Wait, there's that? And if it ia, can you please show me where to see it?
The only problem with Aztec Falcon was that he was a very fast rude awakening to anyone who were doing alright when first playing Zero 1 up until that point, after that though he's pretty easy, just charge your Saber and bait him into doing the slam, hit him with Saber and repeat the step until dead.
16:31 Man inti really does like that ability. GV2 had that same boss with cake boi but instead with a Golem. They are getting better with it
Yes they absolutely should have.
7:26 That caught me off guard.
The fact that the A.I of the 9# spot its so easy to manipulate that i have cleared that game more than a 100 times and i never knew that attack existed
If the golems had al been in the same room and you had to fight them at the same time it would actually have heen cool
The fact that Zero made fun of that damn chicken makes it even better
Goddamn just them talking about copy x's 2nd form made my hands clammy. Hand-memory PSTD lmao
Harpuia is very understandable. He has very few moves and gets immediately stun locked
Dude, the first boss is cake in zero one, you need to hit him with the saber four times. Either charge him once and combo him or just dodge the shots and slash him as he jumps around.
I don't agree with alot of your guys' choices, but it was still a fun vid.
What boss drops the shadow chip
17:11 I am always for a Hellsing Abridged reference, or anything TFS related.
That "rain, not ring" part gets me every time!
Might just be my bias for zero 2 but I really like Phoenix’s fight and his stage is one of my favorites. I find the attacks fun to doge. I like the branching paths and the music is godly.
Also what the fuck Foxstar is male. I’ve been lied to.
Zero 1? More like. Zero *Fun.* Hahah. Hah.
...
I want spicy chicken now.
PTSD from Pantheon Core and Burble Heckalot.
I destroyed the pantheon core In seconds ( the weakness is thunder )
I didn’t have the thunder chip at that point.
Nothing is still worse than Gate. He’s probably my least favorite Megaman boss ever.
Pale 981 Mine’s a toss up between him and Red from X7.
True, but his theme is lit.
I have to admit that when I was fighting him I was constantly rocking out. Actually I beat Gate on my first try, I almost fell in the pit 2 times and it took 10 minutes. The entirety of Gate 2 took me 2 hours to beat.
Great way to spend an afternoon.
Poor me as a Mega Man noob was enraged by Mega Man zero 1 Aztec Falcon and Copy X's second phase, I nearly give up, but I press on and beat them
I saw 85min when it came to how long it took to get used to copy x phase 2
I thought to myself. Now imagin spending 3 months straight on one yeeting bossfight.
I want to add literally the first boss you mention, you can remove the overheating sunlight via destroying generators in certain rooms while climbing up to her
Me: Titanion has always been my favorite. She couldn't possibly be on here.
Irony: *Hold up, man.*
Me: Man, Phoenix Magnion is my favorite muto in the Zero seri-
*oh.*
Next time on QG At the Arcade: A long forgotten Capcom fighting game from the 90s, oh what a wonderful night for delightful fight.
As a newcomer to the Zero series. Phoenix Magneon was so bad, I almost quit the game after 45 minutes.
On my first playthrough of z1, phantom and copy x destroyed me. Even with the save points from the legacy collection, i got ripped a new one. I literally had to restart the final level in order to grind and beat copy x. But eventually i made it
Phoenix isnt so bad. It's really just shoot lemon to bait his teleport then hit him again. Rinse repeat and dodge accordingly.
@@MH_Zard Actually, you don't even have to shoot him. It's just enough to approach him.
@@lafbkhope5391 Shooting is still better, since you can keep the pressure and making the fight much quicker
@@lafbkhope5391 yeah you don't but it's kinda safer.
17:07 Hey kids? Wanna see a difficulty spike?
Damn I must be blind then since he was easy compared to the other bosses
8:36 Gordon Waffle and Mr. Blik!
Lovin that josuke theme outro 👌
Just a tip for copy X phase 2, use the triple rod and stab upwards, it makes it soooooo much easier
Reminds me and something!
Qubit Foxtar fire dance attack only requires you to weave back and forth and back again using dash. It only LOOKS hard to dodge but if you replay the clip there's only two pattern you have to follow depending on where he/she/it was facing.
8:36 Nice Catscratch reference
6:46 Nice link reference
"And chicken!"
Late to viewing this, but a fun video as always. I always love to see content creators collaborate on a video
This is honestly one of the best collabs on here. You just bounced off each other very well, especially with your utter disdain for the top 2 choices.
That said… I’m surprised that Elpizo wasn’t even an honorable mention. But as is, the list was solid.
Funny that I didn't have that much of an issue with Mino Magnus when I played MZ4. Now Cubit Foxtar gave me some issues before.
7:07 Toad Man is actually kinda difficult in one of the game gear mega man games
When saw the title i immediately thought about phoenix magnium lol
Since the guy who usually does it isn't currently here...
Trans Rights!
*Shrug* I had work.
Based youtube comments??!?
Bring this count back for more shenanigans please!
21:18 for Count Shaman's rage and the subsequent "oh, no."
dude, you're humor is getting a lot better. good work.
17:09, Hellsing Ultimate Abridged reference. Nice.
I really need to play more Megaman, too bad I don't have much time nor money and there are other series I plan on getting into first (cough cough No More Heroes). I should pick up the Legacy, X and Zero collections when I get the money for it.
6:44 *yodeling intensifies*
I always appreciate a good TFS reference.
I agree with every choice on this list especially X’s second phase
for me was the retrieve the data stage in megaman zero 1 was the most annoying because as soon as i try to shoot the bastard with a charged shot hed convert into a ball roll into me take and take out my whole health bar.
That last part sounds...infuriating.
