In democracy the ppl who live in lakshadweep should have a say. India should not be ruining b these islands, just like how they overloaded the railway network which is in use since 1947 without developing it further or looking after it. @@Vulcun923they could have gone to Pakistan during partition as the Islands were 96% muslim but sardar Patel captured those islands by sending some Navy vassals there and those Islands had similar culture and language as mainland Indian state of kerala so Pakistan also didn't bothered much.

I still remember learning about lakshadweep in 4th standard and used to wonder why India hasn't marketed it as a tourist destination like Maldives/Andaman.. And I was in 4th 9 year's ago.. Finally developed has taken place..

75 Military Personnel and 2 Combat Choppters were "too much" for Maldives. Now they will have to deal with State of Art "Naval Ship Yard" and "Full-time Military Base" very close to them in Lakshadweep.
Surely, Maldives will have no say if India now patrols the region around their Borders with 10 times more Naval Warship and Military Aircraft.

Good move by India if they want to counter China, India has not joined NATO because India believes that it is capable of countering any Chinese aggression on its own, what India has not taken into consideration is Russia and North Korea joining force with China against India. If I where India I would rethink their strategy.
