Marcos' forehand is just so clean and efficient, the guy almost never hits it on his back foot (which I do almost all the time). I was definitely slowing down the video at times to study his technique.
I’ve played a few points with Kyle on play the pro day, but never got a chance to hit with Marcos. Kyle used to play Marcos dead even in practice matches. It was fun to watch.
Fun match to watch with some high level players. Were there fewer crosses and active net play because it was an exhibition or because most of the guys are singles players (primarily)? You guys were thumping groundstrokes. Your partner and Giron's partner made some beautiful volleys. I don't play nearly at your level, so I wasn't sure about the net play.
Thanks for watching! I think Marcos was trying to adapt to the other players' play style. I am much more of a baseline, singles player. Maybe that is why there were not that many volley to volley points.
