Took forever but I finally got the hang of assembling this thing. Figured out that I had skipped a small but crucial step towards the end of folding the components, and they didn't want to stick together; if you're having trouble go through the video again and make sure you're getting all the folds right because it will save you a LOT of frustration. Also, the video he linked in the description shows the assembly step, so it might be helpful for you to look at just to see how it comes together
You can actually make this model with 6 faces if you use 12 units. You just need to close it when you get to a four pointed star rather than a five pointed star.
Is there like a strategy for assembling this thing? 'Cause it seems like whenever I add a new piece it just undoes the previous pieces. I don't know, maybe my pieces aren't folded well, but any advice would be appreciated.
Hello Dear Tadashi! It's an amazing tutorial and model! I made a 1ft diameter kusudama with it unfortunately with copy paper.. it doesn't hold the firmness of the ball, the shape .... what kind of paper should I try for larger models and is there any way i can fix this?... Thank you so much for posting amazing videos☺️
Tadashi i have a question, im in this origami business going around, and i would like to sell your, or well the star you are presenting up here, I can see that the copy right goes to Francesco Mancini, can you help me?
Awesome model! Have you tried to make other shapes with this type of units? I have tried a few options. I can recomend using transparrent paper. Looks cool when backlit as well :)
Hello and thank you for your tutorials, Tadashi Mori! I have an important question and I hope you will answer asap :) I want to try to create a variation of this model: all the stars will have 6 corners. I don't actually understand how to connect the parts correctly in this case and how many stars there will be in each line. For explanation: in your model there are 4 lines: 1 star on the upper one, 5 - on the next, another 5 - on the next and 1 - on the lower. What's up with my case? Thanks!
Tadashi I made the Star Holes so thank you for the tutorial I've been trying to make the Sonobe Variation and I was wondering how many pieces there are and I really want to know what size the paper is so if you can tell me that will be great Thanks!
adorei seu vídeo , pena que não tenha uma tradução, e você não mostra como se uni todas as pontas da estrela, mas mesmo assim vou tentar formar uma estrela completa. Independente deste detalhe , adorei tudo .
hey...!! i made 30 pieces and from 2 hours i am trying to connect it but i am not able to connect.... >_< can any one tell me that how do i connectit..??
The vid gives the impression that you need to make 10 tips of three - but that doesn't work. Start with one tip of thee pieces and copy his example from there by adding single pieces on to that...
You can also use 7:8 ratio paper, turned 90° to close the hole entirely, but it's slightly more difficult to assemble.

I used 8 x 6 cm.
I swear this looks like the Wolfram Logo...
what was the size of the paper when you use to make red colour star in the thumbnail? what was that small sized star paper size???
What are the measurements of the red papers to fold that you used? The larger pieces show the folding very well but make a kusudama too big for me.
First I thought you said that use dirty sheets of paper but when I listened carefully it said use 30 sheets of paper.
Tadashimori? what is the size of the paper for the red one in the beggining?
thombs up if the first thing that u c was the picture of tadashi and his girlfriend! Contratulations to both!!!!
tadashi your hands is very fantastic :)
Tadashi estava com saudades! dentre os canais de origamis que conheço o seu e meu favorito.
wow nice video. I was wondering do u think its necessary to use glue just to make it all hold in place?
thanks for vid
Just to be clear, is it 3:4 inches or 3:4 centimeters? Does it matter?
+Kellie „KellieKokosaurus“ Gonzalez doesn't matter, it's the ratio that counts^^
lol planing not to sleep just to finish this kusudama XD
Thank you so much Tadashi-sama!!!
