      Russell Petrie
That’s pretty much all it is Russell, yes. A bit slower than a hammer mill, but quieter and a lot less dust.

That’s a fair comment Nick, and if I was converting bigger material and running her at the full 540rpm I probably would. This particular pile of brash was almost all sub 2” stuff so the tractor was running at about 1’600 rpm at the crank. The Zago itself makes very little noise, just a bit of gearbox wine. You could hold a conversation at the controls without raising your voice.
One of the reasons we chose this machine is to limit the noise pollution for our neighbours.
Another reason for me not wearing ear defenders was.... The tree team had pinched them... Again.
I am also still so full of head cold I am half deaf at the moment anyway.. 🙄🙂

I doubt you would get any change from £50’000- £60’000.

Hi farmer p, I was just wondering what you did with all the wood chips/

      Sam Rowberry
What I don’t use myself is sold Sam. We have been marketing woodchip since 1992. Most goes to landscaping, but a fair quantity finds itself in equestrian areas, poultry pens or footpath dressings for the National trust.
The compost we are producing here will be mixed in with winter housing manure and spread on the farm, some will be screened and sold to local landscapers as well.

      THE HAY TEAM TV
It’s a good machine, bloody heavy mind but it will plod on and chew up anything up to about 180mm all day, we screen it later with our star screener on the little Doosan and flog it for £40 per tonne bag, or spread it on the ungrazed grassland.

Farmer P has it ever blocked up?
      It defiantly looks heavy!!

      THE HAY TEAM TV
Not easy to block, the crane runs off the tractor hydraulics rather than its own so you can always pick stuff back out with the PTO off, you can also swap the PTO to turn it in reverse. A big log could jam it and break the shear bolt which I am sure would be a right bugger, but a good operator taking his time would never block it or stop it. 👍
If you are interested I can put you in touch with the right man.😄
