Thats impressive, ive seen large articulated trailer units working but never a smaller machine. I used to pay to tip green waste very regularly and at one point this was my business bigest cost. These days im basicly working for a handfull of clients and im lucky that waste is disposed of on each site with no transport or chipping.
Paul F ... Average charge for (clean, non toxic and disease free) green waste is £8.00 per cube. We will take a dumpy bag full or tippers up to 3.5 tonne, giving smaller tree folks and landscapers an affordable way to dispose of garden waste. As long as no one takes the p155. Tipped Crisp packets, coffee cups and bricks = not being invited back. Screened compost is sold back to our landscapers in 90x90x90cm bulk bags for £38 + vat. Screened out lumps go back in the Zago, or is sold out For biomass.
Interesting reply farmer p . I suppose there will always some plonker that tries to tips rubbish at your yard . I wonder if they are the type that tip garden waste and rubbish in field entrances and down back roads
Paul F ... We have had a 5000 tonne transfer station (waste licence) since 1992, we also hold an Environment agency exemption certificate for a further 1000 cubic meters if wanted. We we’re approached by one or two of the big firms wanting to control and run our little site. Thing is, it’s my home first, and business second. So we run it small scale ourselves enabling us to help out local firms who can claim their waste is recycled at a sensible cost, my own tree team, and our town council who gets free tipping of their landscape waste. We won’t get financially rich from our activities, it earns enough to pay for itself and my Farm benefits from a good organic fertiliser. I don’t measure wealth in pounds and pence. Health and happiness is a far better currency.
Nick Hill .... it’s not difficult to keep tipping plastic, glass or metal free. I have only banned one chap who simply could not get the message. We spread a lot of our compost on our own ground to help the grass feed my livestock. I don’t want rubbish contaminating my fields, any more than my landscaper customers want their clients complaining if they use contaminated compost on a posh border.
That’s quite the machine.
I did have a good chuckle over the twig.
That is quite some machine and you are right, you would not want to fall in there!

Just curious, will you be filming the hay and silage making?

Hi Morten, I expect I will do a couple of uploads over the next month, including making haylage and hay later on.
