- All Extinct Dog Breeds. Dogs are living with people for centuries.Sadly, some of them are already extinct. In this video i will show all extinct dog breeds.

Dogs extinct for numerous of reasons, because of wars, because of diseases, because they are no longer needed, because people stop liking them. I found over 40 dog breeds, that were popular in the past, but today, they are not with us anymore.
Some of these dogs are ancestors of todays popular breeds. For example St. Johns Water dog is ancestor of most of todays popular retrievers.
Its hard to find photos of dogs that are extinct. Sometimes it is not even possible. That is why most of the dogs are on drawings and not on photos.
Photos are from websites like Pixabay or Unsplash and they are free for commercial use and no attribution is required.

The scientist who are working on bring back extinct animals: Someone is on our side
The illustrations and pictures seem like these dogs "disappeared" as distinct breeds centuries ago or sometime in the 20th century. Could you give a history of each breed and where they were from? Good video and you're list make me more interested in dog breeds and what has happened to them.
I will save your comment, i have a lot of work now before Christmas and i dont have time for it now, but hopefully in future i can take a look at the breeds and make more in depth video about them.
Some of them went extinct in the 20th century, some of them a long before that. For example the dogs of native Americans dissapeard, when the Europeans came to America.

The Kuri was eaten and his fur used by native indonesians but most of the others were not useful in 20th century cause these were hunters and some dogs were not authorized to hunt cause of law so peoples have stop reproducing them
I'm my$elf own a pair of blue Paul Terriers AKA American Blue Bullies but I would love to see all the rest of the dogs some of them are still alive but just different colorations because the standards to the AKC is different or UKC

Actually, there are some breeds close to extinction even today. For example the Otterhounds, Irish Red and White Setter, English Toy Terrier or even the Bloodhounds

The Reagans had a rare giant Belgian war dog that almost went extinct during WW1. It wasn't in a lot of pictures because it was too big for the White House, so they kept it at their ranch in California.
Anything can go extinct, including us.

Um.my dog is a old English bulldog....and she looks just like that picture.......
It is little bit complicated. The original Old English Bulldog is extinct, but (i think it was in the 1970s) people tried to reincarnate the breed and two very similar dog breeds were created - the Leavitt Bulldog and a dog with a very similar name - the Olde English Bulldoge.

Is it possible to breed them back?
Sometimes, breeders can revive the breed. For example the Old English Bulldog is extinct, but breeders tried to recreate them and today we have some very similar breeds. For example the Olde English Bulldogge and the Leavitt Bulldog. But it is never the same breed, but very very similar.
One of the others is being revived from the Yorkshire Terrier. I'd have to go back and look up the name. It's just been added to the AKC. I think it's the Paisley.

An American man, I can’t remember his name, reintroduced the mollosus! Go search it up, the dog it HUGE.
Yeah, his name is Marcus Curtis. He was originally a Neapolitan Mastiff breeder until he began making the American Mollosus. In my opinion however, the dogs are very unhealthy, over weight, way to big, and look nothing like the original Mollosus dog.
The American Molossus just steals the name of the original molossus. It don't have nothing similar to the original molossus.

How come they went extinct?
Well, there are different reasons.. For example some hunting dogs dissapeared after the invention of guns, because they were not needed anymore. Sometimes, the breeds were crossbreeding so much with other dogs, that the original breed dissapear naturally. There are also cases of dogs went extinct, because of wars or other things like that, because people did not have money/food etc and the last thing they care about was breeding dogs (no one could aford them). For example during and after the second world war a lot of dogs almost went extinct.

Olde English bulldogges are not extinct
Yes, Olde English Bulldoges are not extinct, but it is a different breed from the Old English Bulldogs. When they became extinct, many breeders tried to recreate them and that is why we have some breeds that are very similar to them. Most famous recreations of the Old English Bulldogs are the Olde English Bulldoges an Leavitt Bulldogs. Other recreations are not that popular, including Continental Bulldog, Able Bulldog or Victorian Bulldog.
