Excellent review! Very well executed video. No fluff. No hype. No waste of the viewers time. Very informative with supporting hands (and foot) on, real-time footage. Great job!
Good review. I just got one of these, but I’ve had a first generation Ditto for about ten years. I don’t need or want a more complicated pedal than this, because it overtakes your playing when you have to be thinking about what your foot is doing. Anyway, your explanation is good and I found the video useful. Thanks for posting.
Fantastic video! Insightful and I had the same thought process deciding which looper to buy, the Boss is worth the hype! I do like the RC-3/5 but for live looping 90% of the time and using my phone screen to play drum tracks instead of the tiny ones on the RC 3/5, it seems the RC-1 is king. There is a beauty in it's relatively simple form factor and can do so much already with it. Happy gear hunting! :)
I have about 6 Loop pedals the RC1 and 5 and the Dito are the best quality and are the 3 i would recommend. Every beginner should have some sort of Looper, i wish they were around when i took to learning. Best Digital Guitar inovation there is.
If you buyer a cheaper one, you'll wish you didn't. The amount you spent on the cheaper could have gone towards this, which is as Nish says an ideal option for a beginner
Yeah, kind of agree. I just got an RC 1, after having used an Ammoon mini looper for the last 4 years. Should have just gotten this initially. My old looper was like $35 new and works fine still but I want the bigger, easier to hit boss style footswitch and the LED indicator.
I'm thinking of buying one but after some research i can see there are rc2 and rc3 versions out there...still i think this is simple and works just as well as the newer models? thanks
In the product specification it says that "the recorded phrase is retained in memory even after the RC-1 is turned off". So can I pass it to my pc? how? Thanks
Why does it have two inputs and two outputs? If I record a loop and I have the looper going to two amplifiers will the recorded loop only play through one of the amps, either output A or B, as I play on top of the loop through the other amp simultaneously?
The multiple outputs is in order to output as stereo, which could theoretically go to two different amps or the same amp. But if you just use one output it is mono. Same thing for the inputs!
I have a problem/question; so when I´m doing a layer it starts playing when the original recording finishes. what if I want to layer something that is longer than the first recording? when I just speak and speak (using it with a mic but it really doesn't matter) it all gets doubled and doubled ... help!
When I purchased mine, the Boss adapter was $50 AUD (Feb 22) at the guitar shop. I went on line and ended up getting a brand new adapter which fits the RC1 for $17 AUD.
I don’t care for the pedal the slippers stole the show here lol 😂 I’m after one of these myself as I have a more complicated looper but just want simplicity.....Good review thanks 👍🏼👌🏼🎸 Feel Good Inc 😉
If you use other effects, does it affect all layers recorded? or does is jsut affect the one layer u used that pedal. For instance if i record a clean guitar and then do some soloing with distortion, will the distortion affect both layers or just the one intended to? thx
So this will depend where you have the pedal. If you go guitar --> pedal -> amp, then changing the amp will affect all of the loops. However if you have an effects loop on your amp, you should ideally go guitar -> amp -> (via effects loop) looper -> amp If you check out this video I use a slightly more advanced loop pedal with an fx pedal , in this case you can go guitar -> fx -> looper -> amp (which never gets changed) th-cam.com/video/kT2l-jXjpgI/w-d-xo.html
Feel good inc. I was honestly zapped to hear that. Good review brother!

This is the best demo of the loop station

Thanks and agreed!
Thanks for the great clear review. Excellent song for the example too. I ended up singing along. Off the eBay now! Thanks Nish.
This video helped me decide to buy one of these. Thank you!

Great Review, thanks, Nish.
Thanking you man........I have been watching alot of vid. on these Loopers, this is first one I understand. THX

Very clear explanation, thank you. I bought mine used as well but it came with out a manual. Not being very tech savvy I got lost! So thanks again!
Great review - thank you😊
Excellent video: short, concise, simple. Thankyou.
To the point indeed! Can you use a mic to record loops as well?
I think it will depend on the mic, but I believe a typical dynamic mic should work!
@@nish_ttp thank you very much
I had the RC-30 sold it now I have the RC-2 that also is ready to go out the door. But I do like RC-1.
RC 30 is GOLD!
If you buyer a cheaper one, you'll wish you didn't. The amount you spent on the cheaper could have gone towards this, which is as Nish says an ideal option for a beginner
Just got it today, so excited.

and for the price of this u can get a trio that has bass drums and listens to you then creates its own back track
This is a pretty cheap one.
Still have the RC-1 but For the money $90.00 and features....nux hook looper pedal is one of the best deals out there today.
Great demo I’m hesitating to buy the tectronic ditto and the boss rc.1 which is better ?
This one for me!
Why does my rc-1 pedal have such a long pause in between the end and beginning of the loop?
Me too… im struggling to find out why
I'm thinking of buying one but after some research i can see there are rc2 and rc3 versions out there...still i think this is simple and works just as well as the newer models?
thanks
The core looping function will be the same, it is a case of whether you want additional features like the ability to save loops or have drum loops
@@nish_ttp thanks man.
What is the LEVELS dial?
@@brownpunk1794 The dial on the RC1 just controls the volume of the looped output!
Great review man!! I just got this pedal and I freaking love it!!
Glad to hear it and thanks! Happy looping!
can i connect guitar and digital piano at the same time?
and is there a overdubbing limit(per piece)?
great review bro.
Its stereo so yes. 12 minutes of unlimited overdubs.
Gr8 review🙌🏻 and cool slippers😁
Very helpful!
Can you record multiple instruments on this?
Nope, just the one!
What are the two cords being used?
Just the input and output
In the product specification it says that "the recorded phrase is retained in memory even after the RC-1 is turned off". So can I pass it to my pc? how? Thanks
Nope, it just means that when the pedal loses power and regains it, the recording will still be there.
Can I use it with beat buddy?
not familiar with this sorry!

You can't layer anything longer than the first recording
John is correct. A dual track looper can give you this functionality, check out my review of the RC500 here
th-cam.com/video/PC_04SqCBms/w-d-xo.html
Power Adapter recommendations?
Boss if you can but to be honest just find one with the right spec and should be fine (look at how many amps are needed and the polarity)
When I purchased mine, the Boss adapter was $50 AUD (Feb 22) at the guitar shop.
I went on line and ended up getting a brand new adapter which fits the RC1 for $17 AUD.
Hey, you never got to talk about the extra port? how is that used?
I believe the 'stop/undo' function, which is usually accessed by doing a double tap would be replaced by a single tap of the additional pedal.
Can you use an expression pedal for volume with this?
Yeah you could put the expression pedal after!
Thanks for the review ! super usefull.
How did add the initial sort of drum beat to the loop ?
I´m hitting my guitar with my hand near where the pickup is!
Thank you bro, definitely buying this pedal :)
Very interesting and helpful ! Thanks!
I can't remove the factory demo
What is the maximum seconds or minutes can I record on 1st loop …before it starts repeating … ??
12 minutes!
Great review, thank you…
Can you plug in a microphone to record?
I'm not sure and don't have the pedal anymore :/
@@nish_ttp Ah too bad
best video so far.. thank you so much.. you described its usage great.
My pedals button doesn’t work in this order for some reason?
So I believe there will be a way to switch between the order shown and the alternative order - check the manual!
You can also use Mic on rc1
Thank you for the video, really help me.
This pedal completely craps out if it happens to get unplugged while youre recording a loop, does anyone know how to fix this?
Keep it from getting unplugged?
Very nice review tha nks. Shame they use red/green when so many of us are colour blind
Feels good 😊
I can’t get those triple green lights in a pause.
What do you mean by triple? I think flashing green lights is an undo which is triggered by a single press and hold
Great video nicely explained. Peace
I don’t care for the pedal the slippers stole the show here lol 😂
I’m after one of these myself as I have a more complicated looper but just want simplicity.....Good review thanks 👍🏼👌🏼🎸

How long can you record ( minutes )?? How many tracks ??
As this is their base model you can only record one track up to 12 minutes
@@nish_ttp Ok, one track, but how many layers??
Thank you so much 😊
You're welcome 😊
Lol thought mine was broken thank you, also YES I know the song I forgot the name but I realized it was the song with the high 'du-duu'
Very interesting, I mean this is WAY out of my topic of expertise but this was fascinating
Cheers chris!
ye ammoon looper pedals ye very cheap but u b luckt to get a year out of them
👍👍👍👍
Looks like 1/2" jacks
"you can jam with yourself"
