I'm currently going through the process of compiling and creating merchandise for the book I wrote and while my profit margins aren't particularly wide they still exist. these creators are being either lazy or downright greedy by going with this substandard company and it makes me sad is all I'm getting at.

The activation always happens, as a bath bomb maker myself, I think the instructions should clarify this. Also, the molds are crap. with those molds you have to push the stuff down a lot. *plans to make tutorial on bath bomb making*
Alexander Miller I made bath bombs with kids a couple years ago and there was very little activation. We used a spray bottle filled with just the water and only misted until it just came together when you squeezed. Also I refuse to use any bath bomb that contains corn starch.
@@CelticStar87 I was responding to the mixing in of the water, but misting is the best way to go. And cornstarch is meh.
Alexander Miller yeah, that wasn’t the best way to mix but what can you expect from a crap kit like that 🤷🏻♀️. Corn starch is just useless filler that can cause plumbing issues later on. The recipe we used was baking soda, citric acid, soap colorant, fragrance oil, coconut oil, and water (mixed the soap colorant - it was liquid form - and the oil in with the baking soda and citric acid before misting with the water. And we used very little oil). We used a plastic Easter egg for the molds. Most of them turned out fine.
Alexander Miller the more you let it activate, the less bomb affect it will have when you use it, you should keep it from activating as much as you can.
No but I bought a kit of bath bombs one time and it made super beautiful galaxy bath bombs and they were super dizzy but problem is the kit was for adults.

Also. You put water in a WATER ACTIVATED product it... activates? I think... that's just... logic... I also think those cheap scents are probably water based scents, seems as it actually mixed with the water without any problem and didn't separate into three layers...
You actually need water, but just a teeny tiny bit sprayed on with a diffuser. Kinda hard to get right and way too hard for a kid

Typically, if you make bath bombs or want to use oil in a bath, you put Epsom salts in the mixture. That makes it so the oil disperses. Of course you’ll still have some oil on the surface, but it shouldn’t be as bad as it is with this kit. I see that the instructions show to put some salt in so maybe it needed more? I mean this is a kit so it should say to add more, of course, but that might be part of the issue?? OR the kit could give extra supplies and have a troubleshooting section so that the kids and people getting this kit can LEARN what to do if they want to get the stuff themselves and do it outside the parameters of the kit. Idk just a THOUGHT
Epsom doesn't make oil disperse into water. Polysorbate 80 does this.

Sympathy to all the kids defending this guy because you just know he finishes filming and laughs about what suckers his fans are and how easy it is to manipulate and take advantage of them. When you mold bath bombs you do have to unmold them immediately or they stick to the mold. HOWEVERif there’s not enough material in the mold it won’t come out nicely anyway.

When a bath bomb is placed in water it activates because the water reacts with one of the ingredients so technically the bath bomb shouldn't even have water in it in the first place. I did a bit of research and have even made bath bombs in the past, none of the recipes I looked at had water as an ingredient and when I made my own bath bombs one batch didn't work because I dye I was using for it was water based. Just some of my thoughts and observations.
From watching these videos. Any time something goes wrong at my job I cant help but say "saltiness intensifies"

I make my own bath bombs as a hobby, all you need is citric acid, cornstarch, and baking soda as a minimum
Essential oils, sea salt, and colour are optional and oil is unnecessary and downright dangerous
also to add the water you should put it in a spray bottle so you don't accidentally activate it as you did with the kit

I've made bath bombs MANY times and using witch hazel or isopropyl alcohol as a binding agent is way less risky than using water, as if you spray too much water the product will activate in the mold and turn to unusable mush. This kit seems like typical Brandable garbage, lol.
Ack they should have included a small spray bottle. Bath bombs will absolutely not work if you just dump it in like it says to.

@@FiveFoxesInATrenchcoat I wouldn't no. That's asking for a UTI, and for some people's skin it clogs pores really bad. I'd avoid adding too much oil in general, sticking with Witch Hazel and other skincare serums
