You HAVE to get to Hawaii, if it's the only big vacation that you ever save up enough and take. I personally hate beaches and hot weather, I am a winter destination for vacation type of guy. However, the BEST, by FAR, place and vacation, I have ever been to is Hawaii. It is so beautiful and there is so much to see and do. Even a day or two relaxing at the, MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES I have ever seen, didn't bother me because I love the ocean and wildlife. The ocean is beautiful and full of fish and turtles, and all sorts of sea wildlife. You have to go. It's expensive, living in NYC I was prepared for it, but most are not. Just save for as long as it takes, pennies, change everyday in a special fund, and then go take your 2 weeks in paradise. You will not regret it.
I visited that site 25 years ago and I see that some improvements have been made. I was very reverent on my visit because this represented the Hawaiian monarchy so many years ago. My wife is Hawaiian, but she did not go with me on that trip. I grew up in Hawaii and have the utmost respect for the Hawaiian people, their beautiful language and the Hula dance. My stepfather is full blood Hawaiian, and he flew Boeing C-97 refueling tankers in the air force years ago.
Wow! Love that walk thru the jungle and finding those ruins. Can imagine what it looked like back when King Kamehameha and his Queen were living there. The waterfalls were absolutely beautiful to see too. Great video and look forward to the next one.

Hi Chris, the palace was a very cool find, I think it's so cool that although there isn't much left the Islanders have kept it looking nice and preserved. The waterfall was very beautiful and I loved seeing all of the bamboo and those trees just grown on top of that really old wall. I've been there, and it's amazing to think of the grand events that took place there, not so terribly far back, and how the jungle reclaims its own.
