This is a very good tutorial to craft Kerfur-0. There is also an item at TR3 called Hiking boots that helps walking and prevent ragdolling on not completly vertical surfaces. I would add that the mailbox is very important in this update since it allows you to transfer strong items (pickaxe, unknown device, metal detector, etc...) from a former save to a new one. One exemple is the scuba mask item that can be transfered and avoid spending 1K point for it. However, the scuba tank will not work if you put it in the mailbox and use it for a new save (oxygen will stay at 0), you will have to buy it for 150 points. The pickaxe is good for mining ores and fighting but the axe (located under the bed of the abandonned house near Uniform) deals more damage than the pickaxe and also has very low weight so it's useful to use against entities (but not for mining). Or if you're lazy to do all of this, you can simply destroy one of your former 0.8.1 Kerfur-0mega and put the parts in the mailbox.
I'd add a few things to the video: 1. If you wanna save on the pumkpins, just go out at night - Antibreather instead leaves the cave, letting you in. 2. Its probably better to waste all the energy during exploration - the same Antibreather will just spawn you back out. Can just take a sleeping bag with you to sleep through the night near the cave(Or take some soda to get to base)
@@binarybyte6493 it's not a chore it's just finding more stuff to build, and it's overrall more expensive, they're already gonna remove the quartz part from it too since it was a mistake
I always think the RAD crystals look like Tiberium from Command and Conquer, Also I'm not gonna try to decipher the scrambled glitchy text this time. Also side note: 15:09 This is profoundly ominous, as if Dr Kel was running from something or someone and needs help in one way or another. I know the video refers to the helping hand as Kerfur-O, but it might be something deeper. Might be worth taking a look.
I dunno, seems intentional to me for a few reasons. Kerf-O is meant to be something you work towards throughout a playthrough so components shouldn't be too easy to get, including quartz and other new components incentivises exploration of the map and caves, and quartz is actually used in the production of electronics.
cannot I just craft kerfur in older version break it with pickaxe for small parts and thenput it in the mailbox, save your save and put the folder into the new version? I know that is possible
From what I understand, their pathfinding navigates the new terrain better, they're less likely to get stuck on certain spots and return to the base. I'm hoping this means that they don't get their head caught in between the satellites' staircases anymore. I did test for that one cliff across the river and lake where they stand there at the edge, and they do walk all the way around now to get to you. The patch notes don't mention the specific spots, and it's marked as 'needs testing', but they haven't gotten stuck for me yet. There was one thing that was changed that negatively impacts the player - Now Kerfur Omegas drop what they're carrying if they ride on the ATV with you.

I guess the dev wasn't fan of how everyone was getting a kerfus after a few days huh
people actually complained of how easy the crafting was, this is still not that hard and makes it more rewarding

actually is pretty easy to make kerfus O i crafted mine after 4 ingame days (obviously focusing only on crafting kerfur O

this might/might not make the abandoned kerfur fight useless, if its purpose was to make the radioactive capsule renewable
The capsule was already renewable, can be crafted with the radioactive crystals found in the caves

@akirapinki can honestly see how you wouldent know that, the cave is pretty hard to come across naturally.

it’s basically source physics, what do you expect?
You get a free radioactive capsule and ai module if you kill abandoned kerfus, can completely skip lake and finding the capsule in the woods

Aren't the parts only purchaseable from the shop if you've already unlocked the KerfO achievement?
I don’t think so
Yup, you need the cheevo

You would be better off doing it that way because the game is turning into an RPG for god knows what reason...
How is their AI better exactly?
ig they just won't get stuck on things as easily.

Normal kerfus gets stuck much easier (and also has that annoying bug where they swing around uncontrollably)
Can you sell the Quartz or Rad crystals that you mine from the cave?
yup its the best way to get easy money imo (my best sell was about 8k selling rad crystals, also the rad crystals sells for more than the quartz one)
