+tyler cecire (Bane) it's not just DC even certain Marvel movies tend to really dull their pallet. Suicide Squad actually seems to be quite colourful though
ikr! When i heard a possible crossover with Godzilla and King Kong I though: 'The Percy Jackson King Kong? Oh plz, Big G will just stomp all over him." XD Sees the Kong in this trailer now. "Okay I take it back..." o_0
he's 100 ft or more right now and this takes place in the 70s so he will have more than enough time to grow by the time he claims his right as KING Kong over Godzilla
1:12 Seeing as this is set in the Godzilla universe and takes place in the 70's, I'm betting right now that he's talking about Godzilla since he would've been around for the nuclear strikes.
There would have a good explanation to why Godzilla isn't there(besides the big fight being saved for later). Godzilla & King Kong share the same universe, and the Godzilla move established that Godzilla goes around kicking monsters' asses whenever they appear. So, an entire island full of monsters, would keep him occupied.
I hardly ever watch movies like this, but since I'm about to get into Monarch: Legacy of Monsters I wanted to catch the back story. My 👀 were on stalks for 70% of the time watching this, I absolutely loved it! It still holds up in (almost) 2024!🐒
Nothing that a little radiation couldn't fix. ;) Kong looks like he's as big as in the 1970s movie, though, which is a lot bigger than in the original or PJ's version. Exciting!
Well, first of all we have what I assume (!) is Kong's handprint at 1:00. Looks way too large for regular-sized Kong, IMO. Then there's the shot with the helicopters at 1:25. That sure looks like Kong standing in the river, and look at the size of him. Or at 1:47. Kong gets up in front of the sun, and the shot makes it look like he's pretty far away, what with the helicopters flying towards him. :)
I thought it was interesting how Godzilla (2014) had a theme of nature knocking humans down a peg. Reminding them just how insignificant they are. THIS movie however as it takes place in the 70s seems to be about man facing nature head on and showing it who's "King". It's a neat little parallel
the natives from the last movie of King Kong were scarier than this one, especially that little girl with the old woman who looked like a witch, this ones doesnt convince me alot
He was just pointing out that so far, the natives in King Kong are scarier than the native you see in Kong: Skull Island. He's not bashing the movie or the design, he's literally just giving out his opinion. So what if there's just one single shot of a native in this movie... that doesn't mean one can't have an opinion. It also doesn't mean they can't change that opinion should these natives prove to indeed be more scarier or threatening than Peter Jackson's natives.
Because Alien was a horror that preyed on what you didn't see. It helped build tension and atmosphere. With Godzilla, King Kong and Jurassic Park, people want to see Giant monsters either destroying shit or fighting each other.
One the one hand, nothings better than a freaking monstrous King Kong. On the other, we stand a not so small chance that he will only have a screentime of 10 -20 minutes...
They made the new Kong so much bigger, setting path for Godzilla VS Kong. Looks like we gonna have some good entertainment again in the coming years. Hope I can stay alive that long.
If you look closely at the rifles, they almost don't move at all. It looks like they're being aimed but not actually fired. Brie Larson's character also doesn't react like she would if a dozen rifles were going off around her. I think in the actual film, the soldiers get spooked and aim at something offscreen, but don't fire, but they digitally added muzzle flashes to make the trailer a little more exciting.
+HydroShock SR maybe, it feels bit rushed :/ cgi takes time so its not ready yet and i know this isnt some materpiece, just ö type monster movie but still... :)
I remember hearing rumors about a movie called "Skull Island" since like 2.5 years ago. It wasn't even called Kong: Skull island at the time. Also, the time things are announced usually come after some sort of work on the film has begun.
The film has been in development since 2014 and its coming out in March 2017. So, they've had plenty of time to make this movie and still have plenty more time to improve it
Trailers i saw today 1 Wonder woman 2 justice league 3 king Arthur 4 suicide squad musical. trailer 5 fantastic beasts and where to find them 6 Dr strange. trailer 2 7 Kong 8 Lights out trailer 2 Did i missed anything?
They've probably increased his size so that when they do King Kong vs Godzilla again they will be on equal ground and a fight can take place without Godzilla just stepping on him. Pretty much like what they did back for the 1962 King Kong vs Godzilla movie.
Leonard Levi Suguitan So they can do huge Godzilla vs Kong film like they did in 1963. Shared universes are the thing, now ever since The Avengers in 2012. They want alot of money.
making new classics ? and if i remember correctly the first new kong movie was the remake of the first classic , this skull island was only issue in the book , this is the first skull island movie , nothing is recycle in here
I am the only one who's disappointed after seeing the trailer? I mean Kong looks like a huge version of jack links beef jerky's Sasquatch. Nor does he act like a real Gorilla... Damn I'm gonna miss Peter Jackson
Rish Fish yeah but it's unrealistically big. What does it even eat? Now there's nothing on that island that can fight him. Kong was always meant to be a large gorilla and he was always portrayed as such in the previous films. Changing it to be a Sasquatch/yeti monster is just changing he character, like making James Bond a women.
***** I'm not saying that there is nothing, I'm just wondering what will he eat? The giant spider? The trees? Where does he get his water? He'll slurp up a whole lake dry! They need to be more realistic
shygirl101020 I'm sure he'll be running on all fours in some parts but since he's gonna fighting Godzilla in a later movie it would make sense to have him standing to fight that big motherfucker Godzilla
It will be hard to top the Skull Island from Peter Jackson's movie from 2005.. like seriously that was one nasty place. And you know you actually SAW the monsters compared to the Godzilla .. and since this is produced by those guys.. meh.. that spider thingy lookgs okay tho.

Yes 😉
I still love "both"
yeah they're making it after godzilla 2
Ben Affleck turns up at the end.
'I'm looking to assemble a squad...'
I think the focus on the dragonfly kind of represents how the helicopters are just little bugs compared to kong.
That dragonfly is probably 10 feet long.
+Undead Nightorc no its the angle
Angus Dubois My bad. 20 feet long.
That was a really cool shot nonetheless
Nice bit of analysis.
This direction actually looks unique and epic. Well done, WB. Best trailer of the year so far.
Well, he better be five times larger than the original if he's going to stand a chance against Godzilla in 2020.
I was thinking the exact same thing!
he is
he's 100 ft or more right now and this takes place in the 70s so he will have more than enough time to grow by the time he claims his right as KING Kong over Godzilla
100 meters i think
+Mark Sackett No, it's confirmed to be 100ft not meters
Is it weird for me to say that I'm more excited for this than any Marvel or DC movie coming next year?
yeah wtf is wrong with you
lol
no bc I am too tbh xD
+Conquer Thyself hahaha butttt me too and I'm a really big fan of Spiderman
Probably because this is something new
1:12 Seeing as this is set in the Godzilla universe and takes place in the 70's, I'm betting right now that he's talking about Godzilla since he would've been around for the nuclear strikes.
Could we see a Kong v Godzilla movie in the distant future i wonder.
+Fuji Wuji already announced dude

2 of the Biggest match ups of the Century is now about to begin!
Let them Fight!
It's happening in 2020
If it's anything like Godzilla we will barely see King Kong
ha
Yeah we will, obscured by smoke or covered in darkness or contrasted by bright light or in flashes as the POV person got killed or ...
Wrong.
i'm assuming this takes place in the 50's or 60's, definitely around the Vietnam War era; looks amazing
I just realized something.
This makes this movie... about the Viet Kong.
It takes place in the 70s

Well...he'll probably be still small besides Gozilla (2014).
YES! THE GIGANTIC KING KONG I WANTED!
Where are the dinos? Don't tell me Kong isn't going to beat up some T-Rex.
At 1:46 there is a dino skull
If there will be any the same size as the last ones then the rema- oh never mind Kong just stomped on the rest before the move happened

0:46 I'm guessing that is one giant ass fucking skinny spider.
OMG I didn't even notice that! Thanks!
Thats what I thought but i think its actually those ropes that come down from a helicopter
Hunter Bickford Obviously there not. I don't know what you're seeing but there not ropes.

Welcome to Samuel L Jacksons Wreck Island where everybody takes an L
Interesting how it has an Apocalypse Now look with the cinematography. Especially how it's colour graded.
Kong is Godzilla-sized. Good. Now make a good movie out of this so we can have Kong vs. Big G. :D
It's happening
Godzilla is still far larger than Kong.
Nothing that a little radiation couldn't fix. ;)
Kong looks like he's as big as in the 1970s movie, though, which is a lot bigger than in the original or PJ's version. Exciting!
Why do you think King Kong is this big in then first place?
Well, first of all we have what I assume (!) is Kong's handprint at 1:00. Looks way too large for regular-sized Kong, IMO. Then there's the shot with the helicopters at 1:25. That sure looks like Kong standing in the river, and look at the size of him. Or at 1:47. The King has awakened! Come 2020, put me down as Team Kong!
0:45 giant spider. you're welcome
I hadn't noticed that, thanks.
Its actually the water people in Mad Max: Fury Road.
im rooting for Kong, looks awesome
Is John C. Reilly King Kong?
Terry Notary (motion capture)
This is a young Kong. Godzilla will havè his hands full when Kong grows up! Can't wait!
I thought it was interesting how Godzilla (2014) had a theme of nature knocking humans down a peg. Reminding them just how insignificant they are. THIS movie however as it takes place in the 70s seems to be about man facing nature head on and showing it who's "King". It's a neat little parallel
the natives from the last movie of King Kong were scarier than this one, especially that little girl with the old woman who looked like a witch, this ones doesnt convince me alot
the natives are what we care about in a king kong movie right
You saw one shot, one shot and you base your whole opinion on that. And anyway, the natives really are the most important part of Kong right?
He was just pointing out that so far, the natives in King Kong are scarier than the native you see in Kong: Skull Island. He's not bashing the movie or the design, he's literally just giving out his opinion. So what if there's just one single shot of a native in this movie... that doesn't mean one can't have an opinion. "I've spent 30 years trying to prove: ...monsters exist."
Sir, have you actually seen Godzilla?
Gives an Apocolypse Now feel as far as imagery goes. I love it.
Better not be like Godzilla where we only see 20 mins of him
We only had around 10 minutes of dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, so I am not complaining.
In Alien you see the monster just for 4 minutes in the movie and that movie was still awsome.
Because Alien was a horror that preyed on what you didn't see. It helped build tension and atmosphere. With Godzilla, King Kong and Jurassic Park, people want to see Giant monsters either destroying shit or fighting each other.
Alien was a horror movie. That was to build suspense. These are giant monster action movies.
I dunno. What we DID see of Godzilla was fucking magnificent. I'm hoping we get something of his caliber.
Thanks for showing the entire movie in 2 minutes
The spectacular footage was filmed in Vietnam!!! :*
Whoever is making/cutting those trailers should get an Oscar and edit all the movies that came out since 1990.
The color grading is so bizarre
King Kong/Godzilla Hype!! OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!
So the monster from 10 Cloverfield Lane is King Kong with Nick Fury and Loki join together to kill it.
And captain universe!😃
One the one hand, nothings better than a freaking monstrous King Kong. On the other, we stand a not so small chance that he will only have a screentime of 10 -20 minutes...
Woah, hes massive!!! Now Godzilla vs Kong will make sense. My only quarrel is, Godzilla lives in our time, Kong lived in the 30s. How that gona work.
This movie isn't set in the 30s. This is a new Kong story that is set in the 70s during the Vietnam war.
afroman255 of course the helicopters haha.... ok, what time set do you think they will fight in?
G vs K will be released in 2020 so probably in that year.
In the current Godzilla/King Kong universe, they are both basically the last of extremely prehistoric species that just happened to be much bigger.
this has nothing to do with other Kong movies though
They made the new Kong so much bigger, setting path for Godzilla VS Kong. Looks like we gonna have some good entertainment again in the coming years. Hope I can stay alive that long.
I expected Harambe jokes... I did not come out disappointed
I can't wait for the 20 minutes we'll see of Kong
Who just thinks Brie Larson is just the coolest person.
no
As soon as she broke through with Room and started acting in lame blockbusters she lost her cool status
what lame blockbusters Joseph Goebbels
Loved her since Scott Pilgrim and even more after her guest spots in Community.
+Joseph Goebbels how do you know it's lame? And what's wrong with starting in 'blockbusters'? Not indie enough for you?
They made Kong HELLLA big
1:11 haha jesus, he fires shots right by her head... doesn't flinch
right that would be loud asf
If you look closely at the rifles, they almost don't move at all. It looks like they're being aimed but not actually fired. Brie Larson's character also doesn't react like she would if a dozen rifles were going off around her. SamuelTBrooks yes I definitely agree, after watching it I thought the sam
King Kong never ends.
Thank you for choosing Viet Nam. Ha Long Bay, Trang An - Ninh Binh and Quang Binh. It's so great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my country. vietnam
ok so the growth balls do work...Now Kong is big enough to take on Godzilla.
anyone made a nick fury and Loki joke yet
Flintstone one too
no but Its good to see he's still into nature adventures after the whole Tarzan escapade
Don't forget captain marvel
Corpsman Dey from Guardians of the Galaxy is also in this movie. (John C. Reilly)
Not yet but i saw a couple of Harambe jokes. I feel bad for laughing at a few of them
this monster has eluded google maps for some time now.

Were it not for Covid, you may have been spot on!

how fucking fast they make movies!? feels like it was just announced and now first trailer is here already...
+HydroShock SR maybe, it feels bit rushed :/ cgi takes time so its not ready yet and i know this isnt some materpiece, just ö type monster movie but still... :)
+HydroShock SR this has been announced for 2 years
I remember hearing rumors about a movie called "Skull Island" since like 2.5 years ago. It wasn't even called Kong: Skull island at the time. Also, the time things are announced usually come after some sort of work on the film has begun.
it only takes like 4 weeks to film a movie, everything afterwards is post production
The film has been in development since 2014 and its coming out in March 2017. So, they've had plenty of time to make this movie and still have plenty more time to improve it

Same makers as Godzilla?
King Kong 400ft tall?
Same kind of theme?
Only one thing comes to mind...
KING KONG VS GODZILLA CONFIRMED!
Yup lol!
king kong still 100ft or maybe 150ft is bigger than like godzilla 2014 in 2020
Apollo Pulse
1:15-1:20 im just imagining sully saying that XD
Hopefully this one doesn't take 2 hours to show him
Larry Fong really shines through in this. Looks beautiful.
when did king Kong get so big?
They've probably increased his size so that when they do King Kong vs Godzilla again they will be on equal ground and a fight can take place without Godzilla just stepping on him. Pretty much like what they did back for the 1962 King Kong vs Godzilla movie.
The director said that Kong isn't gonna be 10 feet or 30 feet, but 100 feet ape. And said that this is the biggest Kong there's ever been.
Interesting since Godzilla is still 355 ft tall.
Patrick Conroy Kong is only 100 ft tall, confirmed by the director, but they might be another announcement for his actually height.
Patrick Conroy so not big enough to step on, but still big enough for Godzilla to pick up and throw around.
"Let them fight" and by them I mean King Kong and Godzilla. So hyped for the King vs Godzilla movie now
I heard this is suppose to share the same universe as Godzilla.
Yes, they're trying to set up a shared universe between Godzilla and Kong.
Hollywood Universe* wops.
+Mr. Blackerific why?
Leonard Levi Suguitan So they can do huge Godzilla vs Kong film like they did in 1963. Shared universes are the thing, now ever since The Avengers in 2012. They want alot of money.
It's the new King Kong brotha
GREAT JOB WARNER BROS! ANOTHER ORIGINAL MOVIE IDEA! the 2005 version cant be topped
So what will Kong fight this time, giant snake, t-rex, a sea monster?
Or maybe Godzilla
2020, my friend.
or Goku lol
humans 😂😂😂🤣
He could fight that spider in the trailer
John Goodman reprising his role as the one who say it come like in 10 Cloverfield Lane lol
When are we going to start making new classics instead of recycling the old ones...
How's this recycling?
making new classics ? and if i remember correctly the first new kong movie was the remake of the first classic , this skull island was only issue in the book , this is the first skull island movie , nothing is recycle in here
This is a different Kong in size and story they not recycling.
They are. You're just too caught up in your own cobweb of bullshit to notice them.
+Sexy Dudette HAHAHAHA!
The King of Skull Island is back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy Shit.
the sexiest I have ever seen Tom Hiddleston
Damn the new King Kong is bigger than the old one
I am the only one who's disappointed after seeing the trailer? I mean Kong looks like a huge version of jack links beef jerky's Sasquatch. Nor does he act like a real Gorilla... Damn I'm gonna miss Peter Jackson
Rish Fish yeah but it's unrealistically big. What does it even eat? Now there's nothing on that island that can fight him. Rish Fish I'm still gonna go see it, but I hope I don't get disappointed! There's already been many disappointing movies that had a lot of potential
+Jmitez i know, best keeps expectations low. but the trailer looks ok!
I'm with you on that.
Awesome! Now waiting for Kong Vs Godzilla...
i swear to god if they make kong walk on two feet a bunch or stand on to feet a lot i am going to be pissed.
The Keeper i dont care if he stands once or twice but if they make him do it a shit ton its gonna be dumb
shygirl101020 please explain why would that be dumb especially to the point where you would be pissed?
shygirl101020 yeah I know I'm late but was just curious
shygirl101020 Guess what.. gorillas also aren't 200 ft tall. And Kong isn't a gorilla ergo your entire argument is irrelevant.
shygirl101020 I'm sure he'll be running on all fours in some parts but since he's gonna fighting Godzilla in a later movie it would make sense to have him standing to fight that big motherfucker Godzilla
Easily tops the Comic Con trailers.......... This movie is going to be GOOD... :)
The Bell UH-1 Huey is also used to kill Viet Kong : )).
Cant wait for the 4 minutes of screen time Kong has just like Godzilla in his movie.
so Kong is bigfoot now.
Yeah, basically
Knowing this takes place on the same universe as Godzilla makes me so hyped
I think Kong is a little too big in this movie...
He's gonna have to deal with Godzilla after all..
he have to be big order to fight Godzilla.
TAKE ME OFF THIS JOY RIDE
It will be hard to top the Skull Island from Peter Jackson's movie from 2005.. like seriously that was one nasty place. And you know you actually SAW the monsters compared to the Godzilla .. and since this is produced by those guys.. meh.. that spider thingy lookgs okay tho.
