I made one of them years ago when Tages book was finally released. Only change I made was to round over the metal blade. I had to much drag on the surface of the veneer. Mines now covered in hide glue. Well done Eric. Brings back a lot of memories of past projects

Good tip. I will keep the round over in mind. I am looking forward to having it covered in glue.
      Thank you for watching.

Great work. I like the nods to This Old Tony as well.

Any plans on making a video using it? I still haven’t added a handle to my veneer hammer. 🙃

Hopefully! I keep trying to add veneer to projects, but it kept visually clashing with the other elements.

Noticed during the handle shaping it appeared that you were rubbing the handle with shavings... Just curious as to why?

That burnishes the surface and gives it that last little bit of polish. The surface was pretty good right off of the tool. Burnishing it gave it just a bit more shine and smoothness.

hello, did it work well for you with aluminum? I read that using iron can be bad, but I have doubts about aluminum. thanks for sharing!

So far it is working. The article I was using called for aluminum or brass for the blade. Aluminum was what was available at the local hardware store.
