I may be a bit more tolerable to certain things, but never got behind the idea that it should be encouraged to break off an engagement and allowing an initial attraction of another man or woman to grow into infatuation. That isn't love, it's just acting out on impulsive desires. Unless its family, that's one thing, that's a natural love that grows, but when it's a man and woman outside of the family, that's infatuation, love happens after, not immediately, love involves having an understanding someone on a personal level. Take that into consideration and it's just a man or woman acting because they find the other attractive in some way, a instinctive or basic human tendencies of attraction, but not love.
I agree largely with your comment, but you didn't comment on where an engagement occurs because a man is basically blackmailing the father of a girl with the threat of ruining him if she doesn't marry him.
