Thanks for posting this. Reading '97 was my first festival, aged 17, and I remember it like it was last week (admittedly, as if it were last week; I'd had no sleep since then; and spent most of the time drunk off my face!)
I'll be honest, I couldn't stand The Manics at the time but the girl I was seeing dragged me down to the front to watch them....I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY! One of the FINEST Gigs I've ever seen!! Sublime performance!
