i’m probably in the minority BUT i absolutely love the daily races week in week out, i don’t race every night but at least a few times a week :) had 800hrs basically in VR and i always enjoy myself massively i think it’s the ps4 owners that are making us sacrifice 20+ race capacity, it’s not a very good console now and unfortunately it’s making us ps5 + pro users suffer because they haven’t upgraded, that’s a whole other subject though 😅 i would LOVE a VR online lobby so we can race with other psvr2 racers, we could make the most of it then, the is some amazing combinations they could do 😀
You are spot on with the PS4 holding GT7 back and the sad thing is we will be held back by the PS5 when the PS6 comes out. Fellow PSVR2 racer here and I would love a VR only lobby hopefully with head tracking so you can look over at the other driver as you go past and he can see your head turn.
People don't like daily races because they aren't always the tracks they are the fastest on. News flash, real drivers have to race every week, even on tracks they don't perform well on. It's weird how people want the "sim racing" experience, but want to have arcade choice style options. They don't want the sim of racing, they just want the sim of them beating everyone on the track they know best. And the meta cars complaints are hilarious. Everyone is using the same car, so it's skill based. They want to see different cars on the tracks, but they want others to use the worse cars, not them. If they want other cars in the track they can pick a different car. And just like real racing, your car isn't going to be the fastest every week.
Agree with most of your comments. One point you went close to when talking of tuning to a PP limit for daily races that I would like to see changed is the ability to use a manual H shifter. I usually focus on private lobbies that allow this ability (particularly with older cars). I have a shifter with my wheel and was rather disappointed when I found I can use it in any game mode except daily races.
BOP is fine, but they should allow us to at least change our setup a little bit, whether you like a tight car or loose car. You know, no performance enhancers in horsepower, but Jesus Christ, let me stiffen my car or loosen it
I think if you drive like an idiot and you wreck people everyday, you need a 24 hour ban. If you keep doing it, goes to a thirty six hour ban and so on
Getting new cars into the game as well as new real tracks means spending a lot of money for Polyphony. Not only the sound and feel of the car, but also the rendering of cars, and especially the tracks, takes time since they are laser scanned. The licensing is the biggest issue tho. Real cars and real tracks need to be paid to be able to implement into the game
Agreed. PD have limited resources compared to i-Gouging, and I'd prefer them to analyse and modify the existing Dailies, and possibly creating new events for single player.
"No penalty for hitting wall or barrier ..." What we've seen in the past with Tokyo and High Speed Ring in particular is wall-riding. I'm happy with PD developing a model which detects a person wall-riding, possibly be creating a threshold (say, 2 sec at a time) before a 3 second penalty is given. The comment about qualifying for every race is the one I'd like to see most. After that, I'd like to see heavy damage implemented for all races. It would have consequences for innocents, for sure, but the current system has not worked for a long time, and I've seen my own interest wane because of it.
I remember years ago when Rockstar stopped updating GTA V on the ps3 and xbox 360 as it was old and slow. If polyphony did this to the ps4, maybe they’d be able to update the grid sizes and whatnot
The game is still always fun if you race a private league in the cars you want. They do need to do some things still though. More circuits, all circuits rain ready that should be, let me drag race other players, B-Spec mode would be awesome....and letting me share my B-Spec driver for other players to race against and I also think it would be nice if they put in some sort of simple circuit creator/generator. At the very least it would be very cool to generate random point to put rally sections and/or kart tracks. Lot's of things they could/should do but not sure if they ever will.
New cars don't solve anything. "Yeah, this sucks, but give me some new toys to play with, and I'll ignore the problem for a few months until I get bored of the toys."
24:14 not really. On the wheel you have much much more control over the car. Even a cuick turn of from left to right, you have more speed on the wheel than on the controller. The game knows you have a controller and even cracking up the sensitivity doesn't change the turning speed. Try the chicane at LeMans on the straight. Trail breaking is probably the biggest difference. Insanely more precise on the wheel and pedals. I have tried both and the controller is a bigger challenge. Much bigger. There are very fast players on the controller, sure, but place them on the wheel and see the difference. Especially noticeable on faster cars and longer tracks.
Thats right, its just a game not really rally. Basicly gt design for controller from ps1 until ps5, because not everyone can buy wheel n pedal. Gt game for common people who like racing game. If u want be profesional or competitive esport u must use wheel
I was thinking as for penalties is to have a cumulative penalty time over let's say three races, GT7 would drop you down to the lower level of DR rating. ie DR B down to C. And, if they continue be destructive they will drop down from DR C to DR D, etc. This will keep non serious racers in lower levels until they improve in their racecraft and their respect for other drivers. What do you think. Digit said it sounded interesting. Thanks and of course a better hud for VR. They should have all the options for us, who drive in VR, to choose from. If people want full immersion, then they just choose not have them on the VR screen. Love your streams!
Yeah, I agree something needs to be done with the penalties for these clowns, especially little kids. 12 year olds on controllers coming and screwing up the lobbies. They need to put controller guys in in a separate lobby. I know there's an algorithm that figures out if you're on a controller. and something should be done with licensing. Tired of racing with kids
I love the graphics and overall feel of gt7 but for me is difficult to get out of iracing because the season championship structure is much more appealing and give us a clearer objective vs the random daily races… also, car damage !! (Come on, we are in gt 7 already!!!). Again, iracing damage does not look to be super complex and it works (maybe PD does not want to do it unless it is artistically perfect…)
I just want they remove rally/snowy mode! I don't buy GT7 to do rally or icy races, if so I would have buy a specific game as EA WRC. I especially don't like to have these kind of runs in licences! GT7 is about road/tracks racing, imho.
Someone made a great point about this! I didn't think about the wallriding, but someone else made the same point. They suggested though if you have contact with the wall for more than 1-2 seconds, then you get a penalty. Some people hit the wall head on, ruin their race, and then get a 3 second time penalty 'for good measure' (as Martin Brundle would say!)

my humble suggestion would be more rotary cars and proper tuning options for them like porting and lightened rotors etc.

Its just a video game, not every aspect in real rule racing must be applied
Lucky u can buy a wheel, how about people just use normal controller
Wheel just additional tool to make u hv experience like a real racing n be competitve a profesional in sim racing game
I bet on u if u use controller and not hit a single wall then reach the top time laps
I play video game since game watch n manual game like fish or ring on the water

@@Rickk69er so true! hopefully it happen but they will probably wait for GT8 i hope
We have same problem to fix beside the gameplay, add some hair forward😂
Y would they call it , Daily Races, it should be weekly races.😅

I'd like to see random cars in daily races to eliminate the meta you log in you get assigned a car at the start of the race. Try something different ❤

no barrier penalty? never heard of wallriding....?
