@beccasteele6874 Thanks! It was fun! I'm still doing their extended Plants Plus, but that's more through Rouxbe. And I've been a bit slow to finish this part.
@folksurvival Oh my goodness That's funny. The certification is for a cooking class. And, you believe the actual propagandists who are spreading the belief that there's a vegan agenda. In reality, those are the people hiding the truth, and spreading propaganda. Did deeper. The pattern is clearly the big animal industry lobbyists with deep pockets who are working with the gvt., both of which have ties to several big corporations and big pharma. Back in the 70s, the McGovern report clearly showed that a more plant-based diet would benefit people's health, reduce rates of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, etc. Well, that was 'stricken from the records' ~ the language changed, and essentially the entire report watered down to appease the meat, egg, dairy industries.
Good luck with your new diet! Wishing you both health. If you feel the need to add more animal foods in the future, you can always try the traditional Mediterranean or Japanese diets.
@yogiyoda, We've followed macrobiotic diets off and on for many years. Decades. I don't plan on needing animal foods again, but by and large evidence seems to indicate that a mostly #WFPB diet improves health outcomes, getting no more than 10 or possibly 15% of total calories from animal foods.
@@vegangreatlife - Okay cool. I don't know anything about macrobiotics and will look into it. Sound like it works well for you. I think adding at least a little alaskan salmon or sardines is a good idea for people who don't like to supplement. They are low in mercury and can supply EPA, DHA, B12 which can't really be found in plants. Personally, I add some poultry and seafood to a mostly WFPB diet and have been enjoying my diet and doing really well.
@katrinkubbe4064 Well, I do have one of my old macrobiotic books avail. as a free e-book. It has a good selection of basic recipes. I may be cooking a little differently now, but will put another book together again soon. I have a whole grains book close to being done. Putting more of my old books up for free too. Go to www.tracymatesz.com then click on FREE E-Books in Nav. Two up right now. Thank you!
So wonderful to see you posting again. Your meals look so good and it sounds like you have a good working system in place. Now with Spring coming I look forward to seeing how you might do a seasonal change or will you pretty much keep it the same? I will message you in a couple of weeks after we get settled. So glad you are posting again!!❤
@Evolving Erinb ~ Thank you! There's a lot going on beneath the surface as always! Will do a lunch/dinner meals video, and yes, food changes w/ the season. More fruit, raw salads++. Hoping to still get a summary video of why we went back to being #WFPB vegan. Don may finally do a similar video as well. Look forward to your getting settled and getting back in touch!
@natashas.3119 Hi, thanks for asking. I'm only now seeing I missed your comment. I've been using more salty flavored condiments which I think better complements a plant-based diet. That said, I still use far less than most. I use a pinch of pink Himalayan salt or unrefined sea salt when cooking grains. Rest of seasoning is a reduced sodium tamari (San-J Lite), miso, Eden Shoyu sauce. These are naturally fermented and don't have the same impact as cheaper, lower grade salt which also contains chloride.
@PopHoudejr Hi, no not at all. Eating a higher carb diet is great for post exercise recovery. My strength loss experienced off and on has just been fluctuations in my training schedule. Honestly, I'm feeling much better energy overall. Definitely far more flexible when getting animal foods out of the diet.
I've done several videos why so far, with another to come, as a summary to all of it. Have you seen any of them? They are linked at the end of the video. And, we are not on a fruitarian diet. We get plenty of protein, fat and nutrients.

Happy to see you got the Forks Over Knives certification ❤
You're happy to see a certification for a harmful, subversive propaganda film?
